Colton Dowell Fantasy

Tennessee Titans rookie seventh-round pick Colton Dowell tied for second on the team in targets during the team's 23-7 preseason win over the New England Patriots on Friday night. Dowell corralled his two targets to the tune of 46 yards and was the only wide receiver to see that number of targets his way, as the Tennessee offense utilized their running backs more creatively during the game. The rookie receiver is looking to make a name for himself and make the final roster. While that could still occur, he's currently fighting an uphill battle, and his chance at fantasy relevance remains slim.

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Colton Dowell was selected with the 228th pick (seventh round) of the 2023 NFL Draft, meaning there's no guarantee he makes the team's 53-man roster. However, the Titans wide receiver group is largely viewed as the worst unit in the NFL, so he likely has a better chance than most seventh-round picks. Dowell posted 1,032 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 67 receptions last season at UT-Martin and tested spectacularly as an athlete during the pre-draft process. Tennessee Titans beat writer Jim Wyatt said he thinks Dowell will make the team, but DeAndre Hopkins signing with the Titans could change things. For now, Treylon Burks, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Chris Moore, and Kyle Philips figure to be locks to make the roster, so Dowell might have to beat out Racey McMath to do so. If Hopkins signs, his chances dramatically decrease. Dowell will not be on the fantasy radar in even the deepest of leagues, but injuries happen and there's plenty of room for someone to step up in the weak WR room.
