Tennessee Titans running back Dalyn Dawkins was promoted to the active roster from the practice squad on Tuesday. Also, the team signed cornerback Kenneth Durden back to the 53-man roster and elevated tackle Tyler Marz from the practice squad. Dawkins is the nephew of Hall of Famer Brian Dawkins. Running back David Fluellen left Week 2 with an injury, so Dawkins will be insurance behind Derrick Henry and Dion Lewis. Tennessee waived linebacker Aaron Wallace.
Dalyn Dawkins Gets Big Workload In Preseason Finale
Tennessee Titans running back Dalyn Dawkins saw a big workload in Thursday's preseason finale versus the Minnesota Vikings, rushing 17 times for 53 yards. Dawkins also saw four targets in the passing game but was unable to haul any in. Dawkins came in after veteran David Fluellen, who is a lock to make the roster as the third running back. This could mean that Dawkins has passed rookie Akrum Wadley and is now in consideration as the fourth running back, should the team decide to keep that many. Dawkins looked explosive and displayed good vision on many occasions, but his limited ability in the passing game and on special teams could make his case a little harder.
According to ESPN's Turron Davenport, Tennessee Titans running back Dalyn Dawkins is expected to get a lot of opportunities in Saturday's preseason matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Dawkins is still considered a longshot to make the roster, but a good game tonight could make his case a little easier. Dawkins rushed only once for six yards in the preseason opener.
