Devlin Hodges Sees Tough Week 17 Matchup

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Devlin Hodges gets to face off with the Baltimore Ravens in a win-or-go-home matchup on Sunday. Hodges has started each of the last four games, and despite being benched in Week 16 for Mason Rudolph (shoulder), the rookie will get his fifth straight start since Rudolph got placed on injured reserve. The Ravens are already sitting Earl Thomas and could potentially save Jimmy Smith and Marcus Peters. However, even if they sit out, Hodges and his six interceptions over the last two games has shown that he can't be trusted for DFS purposes.

Mason Rudolph Takes Over For Devlin Hodges

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph has replaced Devlin Hodges under center in Week 16 against the Jets. Hodges came into this one on a short leash after throwing four interceptions in the Week 15 loss to the Bills, and he was yanked against New York after going 7-for-9 for 53 yards and two more picks. That's especially disappointing against a bad Jets Defense, even if they did get All-Pro safety Jamal Adams back on Sunday. The expectations weren't very high for Hodges to begin with, though. Rudolph wasn't any better than Hodges earlier this year as a game manager, but he might be able to give Pittsburgh's floundering offense a spark in a must-win game.

Devlin Hodges On "Short Leash" In Week 16

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Devlin Hodges is reportedly on a short leash entering Week 16's meeting with the Jets. The Steelers need a win to keep pace for the sixth seed in the AFC, so head coach Mike Tomlin has backup quarterback Mason Rudolph prepared to play if Hodges struggles. This shouldn't have too much of an effect in fantasy, as neither quarterback is a prolific passer, but owners in two-quarterback leagues who planned to start Hodges might want to have a backup plan.

Devlin Hodges Not An Option Against Jets

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterbackDevlin Hodges isn't worthy of a start in your fantasy championship in Week 16. A road matchup with the Jets is a positive one, but coming off a four-interception performance last week, Hodges is treading on thin ice as the starter in Pittsburgh. It might only take one mistake for head coach Mike Tomlin to pull the string and bring back Mason Rudolph under center. If you're a quarterback streamer, there are likely better options available to help you win your fantasy league in two-QB leagues.

Devlin Hodges Struggles Against the Buffalo Defense

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Devlin Hodges did not play well in a Week 15 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Hodges completed 23 of his 38 pass attempts for 202 yards and one touchdown. He threw four interceptions, some at critical times in the game. The Steelers take on the Jets next week and should fare slightly better through the air, but Hodges still won't be much of a fantasy option for the fantasy championships.

Devlin Hodges Not An Option Against Bills

Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Devlin Hodges can be safely left on waivers for a Week 15 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. The rookie hasn't thrown for over 212 yards once this season and while he's thrown a touchdown in each of his last three games, he hasn't thrown more than one in any game. While James Conner (shoulder) is expected to return on Sunday, it's unlikely that JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee) will be back, highly capping the passing game's ceiling against a defense that has allowed just 12 passing touchdowns this season.

Devlin Hodges Does Enough To Win

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Devlin Hodges completed 16 of 19 passes for 152 yards and a touchdown in Sundays 23-17 win over Arizona. Its clear the Steelers wont rely on Hodges to win them games, they just need him to not lose them contests as their run towards the playoffs continues. The rookie from Samford hasnt thrown for more than 1 touchdown in any game hes played in this season, but its been enough to keep the Steelers in the heat of wild card contention. Hell have a tough matchup in Week 15 when they host the Bills for Sunday Night Football.

Devlin Hodges Gets Prime Matchup Against Cardinals

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Devlin Hodges staved off the Cleveland Browns a week ago, winning 20-13 after passing for 212 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. "Duck" is flying into the hearts of Steeler fans, but unfortunately he doesn't deliver much fantasy appeal, even in a matchup against the league-worst Arizona Cardinals Defense. The Cardinals allow 29.8 fantasy points per game to signal callers, but with James Conner (shoulder) and JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee) set to miss another game, the undrafted rookie can't be trusted to stream in fantasy playoffs. However, he does present some solid DFS tournament value.

Devlin Hodges Serviceable In Win Over Cleveland

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Devlin Hodges finished 14 of 21 for 212 yards, a touchdown, and an interception in Sundays 20-13 win over the Cleveland Browns. Hodges found James Washington on a 30-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, which at the time tied the game at 10. The undrafted rookie didnt need to do anything special in this one, and he did his job well, despite the fourth quarter interception. The performance gives Duck another shot at starting in Week 14 when the Steelers travel to take on the Cardinals. While its a solid matchup, Hodges shouldnt be considered as a streaming option for the opening round of most fantasy playoffs.

Devlin Hodges Ready To Start Against Browns

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Devlin Hodges will make his second career start against Cleveland on Sunday. Ducky has appeared in three games this season, logging a 67.5 completion percentage to go along with two touchdowns and a pick. He was a little shaky against Cincinnati after coming in for the underperforming Mason Rudolph, but with a week to prepare, he should play well enough in Week 13 against a Browns Defense that is allowing nearly 19 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Don't expect huge numbers from the rookie on Sunday, especially with JuJu Smith-Schuster (concussion/knee) out of the lineup, but he could still be a semi-serviceable option in deeper leagues if fantasy managers have nowhere else to turn.
