Roman Wilson has Shaky Dynasty Value

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Roman Wilson was expected to have a breakout campaign this past season. The assumption was that Wilson was going to get a ton of chances after George Pickens was dealt to the Dallas Cowboys. Instead, Wilson finished with 12 receptions for 166 receiving yards and two touchdowns in 13 games. It's not going to get easier for Wilson to find opportunities with Michael Pittman Jr. joining the offense this offseason. Also, the Steelers selected Germie Bernard in the second-round of this year's draft. Now, Wilson might fall to fourth or fifth on the depth chart after these moves this offseason. He's only 25 years old, but dynasty managers likely missed their chance to get value for him when he was hyped last year. Wilson will probably play a depth role going forward.

Kaleb Johnson  • RB  •  Steelers

Is Kaleb Johnson a Top Buy-Low Target for Dynasty Rebuilders?

A third-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Kaleb Johnson was unable to carve out a meaningful role in his team's offense as a rookie. Johnson spent the season stuck behind Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell on the Steelers' running back depth chart and finished the year with just 28 carries across 10 games played. While Gainwell departed Pittsburgh in free agency, the team replaced him with former Carolina Panthers running back Rico Dowdle. As a result, Johnson once again appears likely to be limited to RB3 duties for the Steelers in 2026. However, he'll get a chance to work with a new coaching staff in his second NFL season, which could be the clean slate that Johnson needs to revitalize his pro career. The 22-year-old recorded over 1,500 rushing yards and 23 total touchdowns across 12 games in his final collegiate season at Iowa, so he has some untapped rushing potential. For dynasty managers in the midst of a rebuild, Johnson could be worth targeting as a buy-low trade candidate.

Drew Allar  • QB  •  Steelers

Drew Allar a Worthy Dynasty Stash Candidate Given Long-Term Starter Upside

Entering his rookie season, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Drew Allar is buried on his team's depth chart behind veteran signal-callers Aaron Rodgers and Mason Rudolph. However, Allar could be well-positioned for the long term in Pittsburgh, as Rodgers has said he plans to retire following the 2026 season and Rudolph profiles as a career backup. Allar had his senior season at Penn State in 2025 cut short by an ankle injury, but he threw for 3,327 yards and 24 touchdowns while rushing for 302 yards and six scores across 16 games as a junior in 2024. The injury and concerns about his throwing mechanics caused Allar to fall to the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, but he won't be pressed into immediate service with the Steelers and will be given time to develop. In deeper dynasty formats, Allar profiles as a worthy stash candidate for his potential starting upside in Pittsburgh in 2027 and beyond.

Pat Freiermuth  • TE  •  Steelers

Pat Freiermuth's Role in Pittsburgh Set to Shrink Again in 2026?

Across 17 (eight starts) games in 2025, Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth recorded 41 catches for 486 yards and four touchdowns on 54 targets. The 27-year-old's final line represented a production decline from his 2024 performance, when he hauled in 65 receptions for 653 yards and seven touchdowns on 78 targets. His drop-off was partially due to the Steelers addition of tight end Jonnu Smith, who is no longer on the Pittsburgh roster heading into 2026. However, Freiermuth also lost playing time to Steelers blocking tight end Darnell Washington. Pittsburgh signed Washington to a four-year, $42 million extension in early June, which could be a sign that the team is planning to expand his role. The Steelers also traded for wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. earlier this spring, who could soak up most of Freiermuth's targets in the intermediate area of the field. Even though Freiermuth is coming off an underwhelming season, dynasty managers may want to consider selling him ahead of what could be another decline in performance in 2026.

Aaron Rodgers  • QB  •  Steelers

Is Aaron Rodgers Undervalued in Dynasty Formats Ahead of His Final NFL Season?

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is entering what he himself has said will be the final year of his legendary NFL career in 2026. As he enters his age-43 campaign, Rodgers is clearly not the same player he once was at his peak. Still, he put together a solid year in his first season with the Steelers in 2025. Across 16 games, Rodgers completed 65.7% of his pass attempts for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Entering 2026, the veteran quarterback should have an improved cast of pass-catchers around him following Pittsburgh's offseason trade acquisition of wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. The Steelers also invested in the wide receiver position in the 2026 NFL Draft, using a second-round pick on Germie Bernard and a fourth-round pick on Kaden Wetjen. Fantasy managers should not expect Rodgers to provide top-12 quarterback production. Still, dynasty managers with win-now rosters in two-quarterback league formats may be able to squeeze one last productive season out of Rodgers in 2026.

Kaleb Johnson  • RB  •  Steelers

Can Kaleb Johnson Regain Dynasty Value?

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Kaleb Johnson was a third-round pick in a 2025 NFL Draft billed for its running back talent, and while several players from his class were able to deliver promising rookie campaigns, Johnson's was one to forget. The most memorable moment of his first season was arguably a kickoff return blunder early in the year that gifted the Seahawks a touchdown and landed Johnson in Mike Tomlin's doghouse. With an entirely new coaching staff in Pittsburgh for 2026, Johnson will look to put a disappointing rookie season, in which he touched the ball fewer than 30 times on offense and averaged only 2.5 yards per carry, squarely behind him. However, the Steelers also replaced leading pass-catching back Kenneth Gainwell with the more well-rounded Rico Dowdle, forming a formidable pair of do-everything backs with fifth-year veteran Jaylen Warren and further obscuring Johnson's path to playing time. Still yet to turn 23 years old, Johnson remains a hold at least throughout training camp, but barring an injury ahead of him or an unexpected new home, RotoBaller's dynasty RB57 will need to be seriously looked at as a cut candidate only one year after coming off the board in the first round of many rookie drafts.

Drew Allar  • QB  •  Steelers

Drew Allar a Smart Stash in the Middle Rounds of Dynasty Rookie Drafts

The Pittsburgh Steelers selected former five-star quarterback prospect Drew Allar in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, and with the team agreeing shortly thereafter on a one-year deal to bring back the 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers for his 21st and final season, the Penn State prospect will have the opportunity to learn behind the scenes while competing for primary backup responsibilities. Allar has prototypical NFL size, but head coach Mike McCarthy and the Steelers are reportedly undertaking a comprehensive mechanical rewiring to remove some of the bad habits he picked up along the way that caused him to drop from the number one recruit out of high school to the fourth quarterback selected in a weak draft class. His raw tools alone are enough to get excited about in the second round of superflex rookie drafts, but with the Day 2 investment and only Mason Rudolph and 2025 sixth-round pick Will Howard standing in the way of a potential starting job when Rodgers does eventually retire, Allar becomes a high-upside stash, who should see his value rise in the coming years.

Michael Pittman Jr.  • WR  •  Steelers

Michael Pittman Jr.'s Dynasty Outlook Clouded by Long-Term QB Uncertainty

After spending the first six seasons of his NFL career with the Indianapolis Colts, wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers in March. Across 17 games with the Colts in 2025, Pittman Jr. recorded 80 receptions for 784 yards and seven touchdowns on 111 targets. While the 28-year-old has never been the most explosive downfield threat, he's made his bones as a possession receiver who can consistently win in the short and intermediate areas of the field. That may make him a perfect fit with Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who prefers to get the ball out of his hands as quickly as possible at this stage of his career. Still, Pittman Jr.'s production has generally been declining since his highest-usage year in 2023, when he hauled in 109 catches for 1,152 yards on 156 targets. He also faces target competition in Pittsburgh from veteran wideout DK Metcalf and rookie wide receivers Germie Bernard and Kaden Wetjen. In dynasty formats, managers may want to look to sell high on Pittman Jr.

Will Howard  • QB  •  Steelers

Is it Time for Dynasty Managers to Drop Will Howard?

A sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Will Howard did not see the field as a rookie and spent a chunk of the year on Injured Reserve after breaking his hand in training camp. While the 24-year-old was never expected to contribute as a rookie, there was a thought at the time he was drafted that he might have an outside chance to emerge as Pittsburgh's quarterback of the future. Entering 2026, that possibility looks extremely remote. Aaron Rodgers is back for one final season as the Steelers' starter in 2026, and veteran Mason Rudolph is firmly in place as the team's backup. Perhaps most importantly for Howard's long-term future in Pittsburgh, the team used a third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft on Penn State quarterback Drew Allar. As a result, Howard could find himself without a roster spot in Pittsburgh as soon as this fall. In dynasty formats, managers should feel comfortable moving on from Howard.

DK Metcalf  • WR  •  Steelers

DK Metcalf's Dynasty Stock is Declining Rapidly Entering 2026

Across 15 games in his first season with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025, wide receiver DK Metcalf recorded 59 catches for 850 yards and six touchdowns on 99 targets. Despite being the obvious number one option in the Pittsburgh passing game, Metcalf set career lows in both targets and receiving yards. Entering 2026, Metcalf may be in an even worse position to produce in Pittsburgh. The Steelers acquired wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. this offseason, who has seen at least 111 targets in each of the last five seasons while playing for the Indianapolis Colts. Pittsburgh also used second and fourth-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft on wideouts Germie Bernard and Kaden Wetjen. As Metcalf enters his age-29 season, his dynasty stock is at an all-time low.

T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith Expected to Remain With Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers recently gave edge rusher Nick Herbig a four-year, $100 million contract extension, which has led to more speculation that the Steelers could trade one of linebackers T.J. Watt or Alex Highsmith, this offseason. The NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said on The Pat McAfee Show on Thursday that Watt "isn't going anywhere this year, and he's going to play for the Steelers." Rapoport also doesn't "get the sense" that Highsmith is going anywhere either. Watt, 31, signed a three-year, $123 million contract with Pittsburgh in July of last year. It doesn't sound like he's a realistic trade candidate this offseason, but that could be a different story come next year, when the Steelers will have a decision to make either way. The eight-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro can still be a difference-maker on defense when he's healthy, but he's not getting any younger, and durability is becoming a bit more of a concern for the Steelers and fantasy managers in IDP formats. Watt played in 14 regular-season games in 2025 and had just seven sacks, the second-fewest total of his nine-year NFL career.

Darnell Washington  • TE  •  Steelers

Steelers, Darnell Washington Agree to Four-Year Extension

The Pittsburgh Steelers and tight end Darnell Washington agreed to a four-year, $42 million contract extension on Wednesday, sources told Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports. The hulking 6-foot-7, 264-pounder has developed into a key piece of Pittsburgh's offense after they selected him in the third round (93rd overall) in 2023 out of the University of Georgia. Although the 24-year-old hasn't been on the fantasy football radar, outside of dynasty/keeper leagues, he could have an even bigger role with the Steelers in 2026 after both Jonnu Smith and Connor Heyward left in free agency this offseason. Washington had his best year as a pro in 2025 in Year 3 in the Steel City, catching 31 of his 43 targets for 364 yards and just one touchdown in 16 regular-season games (13 starts). Pat Freiermuth remains the better fantasy target in single-year leagues, but Washington could be a Freiermuth injury away from becoming a weekly TE option for fantasy managers.

Germie Bernard  • WR  •  Steelers

Germie Bernard Expected to Require Some Patience in Dynasty Leagues

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Germie Bernard has an encouraging draft stock as a second-round pick and has drawn praise from the coaching staff, but his position on the depth chart could prevent him from having immediate fantasy relevance. Managers may need to exercise a little patience in dynasty leagues, as Bernard projects to open 2026 as the Steelers' No. 3 receiver behind DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. That's not to say that he should be avoided in dynasty leagues, though. Metcalf has missed at least two games in each of the last two seasons, so injuries could strike at any time and result in Bernard taking on a larger role. Plus, as a second-rounder from Alabama, we know he's a talented player who could earn more playing time simply by producing this summer and early in his rookie season. Managers may have to be a little patient, but the upside is very encouraging. Bernard is a solid target at the end of the first round or start of the second round in 2026 rookie drafts. He ranks as the WR60 in RotoBaller's latest dynasty fantasy football rankings.

Rico Dowdle  • RB  •  Steelers

Rico Dowdle's Dynasty Value Fading Ahead of First Season in Pittsburgh?

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rico Dowdle is entering his first year with the team in 2026 after racking up 1,373 scrimmage yards and seven touchdowns on 275 touches across 17 games with the Carolina Panthers in 2025. Dowdle began the year as the RB2 in Carolina but eventually took over the lead role following an early-season injury to Panthers back Chuba Hubbard. While Dowdle's season-long numbers are impressive, his production tailed off down the stretch of the season after Hubbard returned from injury. Dowdle failed to crack 60 rushing yards in any of his final eight games of the season and logged just six touches in the Panthers' playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Dowdle now enters a similar backfield dynamic in Pittsburgh, where he figures to split touches with Steelers back Jaylen Warren. Dowdle's upside in the event of an injury to Warren could be enormous, but his production figures to be limited as long as both backs are splitting touches. In dynasty formats, managers may want to consider selling high on Dowdle.

Darnell Washington  • TE  •  Steelers

Darnell Washington Participating in OTAs

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Darnell Washington is participating in OTAs, per Mark Kaboly of The Pat McAfee Show. The 24-year-old ended the 2025 season on injured reserve after suffering a broken arm in Week 17, but it appears that he's fully healthy and ready to go heading into 2026. Across 16 games before getting injured last season, Washington hauled in 31 receptions for 364 yards and one touchdown on 43 targets. While Washington's numbers were all career-bests, he has not been able to establish himself as a reliable pass-catcher since being selected by Pittsburgh in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. With fellow Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth still in the picture entering 2026, Washington appears unlikely to see a major role change in the upcoming season. Washington currently ranks as RotoBaller's TE40 for redraft leagues.

Jaylen Warren  • RB  •  Steelers

Jaylen Warren Slims Down Over the Offseason

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren is down to 205 pounds for OTAs and is "looking slimmer," per Chris Adamski of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Warren was listed at 215 pounds for the 2025 season. The 27-year-old set career-highs across the board last season for the Steelers, finishing the year with 1,291 yards from scrimmage and eight touchdowns on 251 touches across 16 games (15 starts). Entering 2026, Warren projects to split backfield reps with new Steelers running back Rico Dowdle, who was signed to a two-year contract in March. Dowdle profiles as more of a downhill, short-yardage back, so Warren's weight loss could be a sign that the team wants him to focus on shiftiness for an open-field, pass-catching role. Both Pittsburgh running backs profile as mid-tier RB3/flex options entering 2026.

Roman Wilson  • WR  •  Steelers

Roman Wilson Worth Holding in Dynasty Leagues After Offseason Additions?

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Roman Wilson had a big opportunity to seize a much bigger role on offense in 2025 in his second year in the NFL after the Steelers traded George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys. The 24-year-old former third-round selection (84th overall) in 2024 out of Michigan failed to seize that opportunity, finishing the 2025 campaign with just 12 catches on 21 targets for 166 yards and two touchdowns in 13 regular-season games (four starts) after he played in just one game in his rookie season. Veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers has returned for one more year in the Steel City, which is good news for all of the Steelers' pass-catchers, but fantasy managers in dynasty/keeper leagues should probably move on from Wilson after Pittsburgh added Michael Pittman Jr. in an offseason trade and selected rookie Germie Bernard in the second round of this year's draft. Wilson flashed several times in 2025, but it wasn't enough, and his role faded down the stretch -- he was a healthy scratch in four of the last six regular-season contests. It's clear by the Steelers' offseason moves that they aren't planning on Wilson being a big part of their offense, and RotoBaller has him ranked as the No. 140 WR in dynasty leagues.

Pat Freiermuth  • TE  •  Steelers

Steelers Restructure Pat Freiermuth's Contract

The Pittsburgh Steelers restructured tight end Pat Freiermuth's contract on Sunday to free up some salary cap space for the 2026 season, multiple sources told Nick Farabaugh of Penn Live. Freiermuth's salary cap hit this year will decrease to $11.2 million. The 27-year-old should see more volume in Pittsburgh in his sixth year in the league with both Jonnu Smith and Connor Heyward no longer in town, and it's a positive that veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers is back in the Steel City for one more season. In his fifth year with the Steelers in 2025, Freiermuth caught 41 of his 54 targets for 486 yards and four touchdowns in 17 regular-season games (eight starts) to finish as the TE24 in half-PPR scoring. While the former second-rounder's volume should increase at least slightly, he'll now have to battle for targets with new wideout Michael Pittman Jr. and rookie receiver Germie Bernard. Freiermuth has never had more than 732 receiving yards or seven touchdowns in a single season, so the ceiling is pretty low in fantasy, and RotoBaller has him ranked as the No. 24 TE for the 2026 campaign.

Darnell Washington  • TE  •  Steelers

Is it Time to Drop Darnell Washington in Dynasty Leagues?

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Darnell Washington is trending in the wrong direction in dynasty fantasy football leagues, and managers could justify dropping him as the post-rookie draft roster crunch approaches. Washington had 31 catches, 364 yards, and one touchdown last year, and we're not convinced he'll be able to surpass those numbers in 2026. Now heading into his fourth year, the odds aren't in Washington's favor. Not only has he failed to live up to expectations through three NFL seasons, but he also has no connection to the new Steelers coaching staff, led by Mike McCarthy. Furthermore, the Steelers brought in competition in the form of fifth-round rookie Riley Nowakowski. Washington should hold onto the No. 2 tight end role (behind Pat Freiermuth and ahead of Nowakowski) initially, but he could end up falling to third as the year goes on. Washington is also heading into a contract year, which could be more incentive for the Steelers to reduce his reps and lean more on Freiermuth and Nowakowski. While free agency could be a much-needed fresh start for Washington next year, he doesn't have the track record needed to sign somewhere as a starting tight end. Therefore, both in the short term and long term, Washington's dynasty outlook is bleak. Managers can absolutely justify dropping him, as he has fallen to TE52 in RotoBaller's latest dynasty fantasy football rankings.

Aaron Rodgers Plans to Retire Following 2026 Season

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers told reporters on Wednesday that he plans to retire at the end of the 2026 season, per ESPN. Rodgers recently signed a one-year deal to return to Pittsburgh and reported to the team's facilities for offseason workouts on Monday. While the 42-year-old is no longer the same player he once was at his peak, he still threw for 3,322 yards and 24 touchdowns while leading Pittsburgh to the AFC North title and a playoff berth in 2025. Rodgers enters 2026 as a four-time MVP, four-time first-team All-Pro, 10-time Pro-Bowler, and the MVP of Super Bowl XLV. He's fifth on the NFL's all-time passing yardage leaderboard, and can pass Peyton Manning for third on the all-time passing touchdown list if he throws for 13 or more scores in 2026. Regardless of what happens this upcoming season with the Steelers, he will go down as one of the best quarterbacks of his era and the history of the NFL.
