Dion Lewis Steals Touchdown On Otherwise Uneventful Day
New York Giants running back Dion Lewis rushed twice for 14 yards and a touchdown in a loss to the Cardinals on Sunday. Call him the vulture, as Lewis scored on a one-yard plunge with starter Wayne Gallman standing on the sidelines. Other than the touchdown, Lewis was completely uninvolved as he had just the two carries and was not targeted in the passing game. Lewis is off the fantasy radar ahead of a Week 15 matchup with Cleveland.
New York Giants running backs Alfred Morris and Dion Lewis have split time as the backup to Wayne Gallman and neither has seen enough work to trust in fantasy. Morris has been the change-of-pace runner, but is yet to see double-digit carries in a game and has just one target on the season. Lewis, on the other hand, has been a passing-downs back and has just one game with more than three carries and that was back in Week 2 when Saquon Barkley (knee) left mid-game. Both can be left on waivers in fantasy.
Dion Lewis, Alfred Morris Not In Play For Fantasy In Week 10
New York Giants running backs Dion Lewis and Alfred Morris are not startable options in Week 10, even with Devonta Freeman (ankle) expected to miss his third straight game. Wayne Gallman has been used as the lead back for New York with double-digit carries in three straight games, including 14 last week in a win at Washington. Morris has been used as a change-of-pace from Gallman, but he isn't seeing enough carries to be effective as the second back in a bad offense. Lewis is primarily used on passing downs and caught a touchdown two weeks ago, but he has just one game with more than three carries, making him a fantasy football afterthought.
New York Giants running back Dion Lewis played sparingly again in a win versus Washington on Sunday. Lewis mustered just five yards on only three carries and added 16 yards on two catches in the passing game. With Devonta Freeman (ankle) poised to return from injury, Lewis should get pushed further into the abyss in fantasy leagues.
Alfred Morris, Dion Lewis Not Startable Versus Washington
New York Giants running backs Alfred Morris and Dion Lewis will play a backup role to Wayne Gallman for the team's Week 9 matchup in Washington. Starter Devonta Freeman (ankle) remains sidelined so both backs should be involved, but not to the point where fantasy managers should consider starting Morris, who was on the practice squad until just before last Monday's game, or Lewis who has just five carries since Week 2. Washington allows the fifth-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs giving both runners next to no fantasy appeal.
New York Giants running back Dion Lewis made a sliding catch in the end zone to get the Giants on the board in the first half of their Monday night matchup with the Buccaneers. It was a great catch by the veteran running back, but Lewis did little else in the contest. Lewis had just three targets and only made two catches for eight yards in the game. Wayne Gallman and Alfred Morris handled all the rushing work, as Lewis did not receive a carry in the game, making him mostly useless in all but the deepest of fantasy leagues.
New York Giants running back Dion Lewis handled three carries for 23 yards in a loss to the Eagles on Thursday. Despite starting running back Devonta Freeman (ankle) leaving after only three carries, Lewis was not a big part of the Giants' game plan as Wayne Gallman handled the bulk of the work in the Big Blue backfield. New York hasn't had enough success rushing the ball this season for Lewis to be a fantasy asset in most fantasy leagues.
New York Giants running backs Dion Lewis and Wayne Gallman have fallen behind Devonta Freeman on the depth chart and both are unlikely to provide fantasy value in Week 6. Last week, Gallman was out-carried by Freeman 17 to five and Lewis did not get a carry. Lewis did have four targets, but was only able to muster two catches for one yard. Neither Lewis nor Gallman has much fantasy value moving forward with Freeman leading the New York backfield.
New York Giants running back Dion Lewis had a quiet game Sunday in Los Angeles as the veteran running back handled just three touches versus the Rams. Lewis had two catches for eight yards and added a 10 yard run on a draw-play on his only carry. Lewis was behind Devonta Freeman (15 touches) and Wayne Gallman (six touches) in the backfield pecking order. With New York cycling through three running backs, Lewis won't carry any fantasy value despite a nice matchup with Dallas in Week 5.
New York Giants running back Dion Lewis has not had much success on the ground this season and is not currently an option in fantasy. The former Titan has just 21 yards on 11 carries this season and had fewer carries than both Devonta Freeman and Wayne Gallman last week. Lewis was known for his pass catching abilities in his time in Tennessee, but he has just five catches on nine targets this season. Lewis is best left on waivers at this point.
