D'Onta Foreman News
Free-agent running back D'Onta Foreman agreed to a one-year deal with the Bears. The 26-year-old nearly hit the 1,000-yard rushing mark last season, finishing the 2022-23 campaign with 914 yards and five touchdowns off 203 attempts. Carolina had expressed interest in retaining him. However, after Miles Sanders inked a four-year contract with the team, Foreman will now take over for David Montgomery, who signed a deal with the Detroit Lions. Nevertheless, the 2017 third-round pick isn't known for his pass-catching prowess, which will hurt his stock in PPR formats. At the same time, Justin Fields should continue to receive plenty of chances to use his legs, so Foreman's fantasy potential may not be as high in Chicago.
Impending Free-agent running back D'Onta Foreman is expected to be a "hot commodity" on the open market, according to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson, citing various NFL sources. Foreman signed a one-year, $2 million contract with the Panthers in March 2022 after unsuccessful stops in Houston and Tennessee. He had the most productive season of his career in Carolina, finishing with 914 rushing yards and five touchdowns off 203 attempts (17 games). The Panthers would love to have him back. However, the 26-year-old could be out of the team's price range, so he may sign elsewhere this offseason. That said, regardless of where Foreman lands, he should draw plenty of interest from fantasy managers heading into the 2023-24 campaign. But he's not the best pass-catcher, which will hurt his stock in PPR formats.
Carolina Panthers new running backs coach Duce Staley praised running backs D'Onta Foreman, Chuba Hubbard and Raheem Blackshear and also said it's important for the team to re-sign Foreman, although the final decision ultimately isn't up to him. Foreman led the Panthers in rushing in 2022 after the team traded Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers, finishing with a career-high 914 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 203 carries over 17 games (nine starts). The Panthers still have a giant question mark at quarterback under new head coach Frank Reich, but Foreman would return to lead-back duties in Carolina if the team were to re-sign him this offseason. If Foreman walks, Hubbard would have an elevated role in the backfield, depending on what the team does in free agency and the draft at the position.

From the 2016 Doak Walker Award Winner to battling severe injuries and personal issues, Chicago Bears running back D'Onta Foreman is a hard player not to cheer for. From a personal side, Foreman has not had it easy. While he was a junior at the Texas Longhorns, he lost his infant son, and in 2022 he lost his father in a vehicle incident. Meanwhile, while playing football, he tore his Achilles in 2018 as well as his bicep in 2019. Despite all of these obstacles, Foreman finally got his chance on...
