Haason Reddick News
The Philadelphia Eagles are trading Pro Bowl edge rusher Haason Reddick to the New York Jets for a conditional 2026 third-round pick that could turn into a second-rounder. Reddick was rumored to be on the trade block this offseason, and the Jets jumped on him after losing Bryce Huff and failing to sign Jadeveon Clowney. Reddick has posted at least 11 sacks in each of the last four seasons, despite being on three different teams (Cardinals, Panthers, Eagles). The 2022 All-Pro selection has racked up 50.5 total sacks since 2020, and he is set to join a defensive front that is already dominant. New York is clearly going all in this year as Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) is set to return.
Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro pass-rusher Haason Reddick said he never requested a trade and wants to stay in Philadelphia. "I would like to get an extension done here at home. At no point did I ever tell the organization I want to be traded," Reddick said. He has one year left on his deal with no guaranteed money left. "This is home for me. I was born and raised here. Two of the most fun years playing football in my life came here. I've cherished being an Eagle." The 29-year-old linebacker reportedly requested a trade several days ago as he enters the final year of his current deal. The former first-rounder has had double-digit sacks in each of the last four seasons and has accumulated 27 sacks in his two years in Philadelphia. If he's going to stay in Philly, the Eagles are either going to have to restructure his deal or sign him to an extension.
Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro edge rusher Haason Reddick has received permission to seek a trade following another disruptive season featuring double-digit sacks (11), according to sources. The 29-year-old has produced 27 sacks in his two seasons with the Eagles and should draw plenty of interest from teams looking to bolster their pass rush this offseason. In addition to his 11 sacks in 2023, Reddick compiled 38 tackles (29 solo), 13 tackles for loss and 23 QB hits in 17 starts for Philly. He now has four straight seasons with double-digit sacks and has 58 in his seven NFL seasons after spending his first four years with the Arizona Cardinals. Reddick is entering the final year of his current contract and will be looking for a long-term contraction extension with whatever team is willing to trade for him.
