James Bradberry Has the Best Cornerback Matchup of Week 4

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback James Bradberry has the best individual matchup of Week 4, according to PFF's WR/CB Matchup Chart. Bradberry is projected to line up across from Curtis Samuel for most of the Eagles' matchup against the Washington Commanders, but Bradberry also has favorable matchups against the other Washington receivers. Bradberry has only allowed a catch on 56% of the targets that came his way. Each of Samuel, Terry McLaurin, and Jahan Dotson all have fewer than 1.50 yards per route run this season. Bradberry's matchup advantage might not help his fantasy value if it results in him not being targeted. But if he is targeted, he has a good chance to make some pass defenses and interceptions, as Sam Howell has already thrown five picks in three games.

James Bradberry In Concussion Protocol

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback James Bradberry (concussion) entered the concussion protocol after the team's Week 1 win over the New England Patriots. The Eagles gave up 316 passing yards and three passing touchdowns to Mac Jones, so losing Bradberry could cause a significant issue for its secondary. The Eagles are slated to host the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday Night Football in Week 2, meaning it seems improbable for Bradberry to be cleared to play on a quick turnaround. Facing a pass-catching group consisting of Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, K.J. Osborn, and T.J. Hockenson without Bradberry would be no easy task.

James Bradberry Returns To Practice On Thursday

Philadelphia Eagles defensive back James Bradberry (groin) was back on the practice field on Thursday. The 30-year-old was able to participate in team drills, so it sounds like he should be fine going forward. Bradberry was dealing with a groin issue, but the team didn't consider it a significant injury. Possibly, the Eagles take the cautious approach and limit him during the preseason opener versus the Baltimore Ravens. Bradberry is expected to play a key role on the Eagles defense this upcoming season.

James Bradberry Returns To Eagles On Three-Year Deal

All-Pro cornerback James Bradberry re-signed with the Philadelphia Eagles on a three-year deal worth $38 million on Tuesday, according to sources. The deal includes $20 million fully guaranteed and another $6 million in incentives, with the total package coming out to a possible $44 million. The 29-year-old has been extremely durable in his seven-year career. In his first year with the Eagles in 2022, he had 44 tackles (39 solo), three interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) and 17 passes defensed in 17 regular season starts. Bradberry will be remembered for his crucial holding penalty in the Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, but he should remain a solid corner for the Eagles in 2023 across from Darius Slay.

Cardinals Could Go After James Bradberry

The Arizona Cardinals could have interest in Philadelphia Eagles impending free-agent cornerback James Bradberry this offseason. Bradberry was with new Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon in Philadelphia in 2022. However, the Cardinals are clearly in a rebuilding phase, so their spending plan in free agency this year remains a mystery. The 29-year-old had a crucial holding call go against him in the Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, but overall he excelled on a one-year deal in Philly in 2022. In 17 regular season starts, he accumulated 44 tackles (39 solo), three interceptions (one returned for a TD) and 17 passes defensed.

James Bradberry Agrees With Eagles

Former New York Giants Pro Bowl cornerback James Bradberry agreed to terms with the Philadelphia Eagles on a one-year deal for $10 million on Wednesday, according to sources. It's a big-time post-draft addition for the Eagles secondary, and Bradberry will stay in the NFC East in 2022. The New York Giants released the 28-year-old just over a week ago, and it predictably didn't take the Pro Bowler long to find a new home. The Eagles didn't address cornerback in the draft, so Bradberry is a much-needed addition to the position. In his two seasons with New York, Bradberry had 81 solo tackles, seven interceptions, 35 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in 32 games (31 starts).

Giants Release James Bradberry Monday

The New York Giants released cornerback James Bradberry on Monday after failing to find a trade partner, according to a source. The move will create $10.1 million in salary cap savings this year while leaving $11.7 million in dead money. The savings will be $11.5 million with $10.4 million in dead money this year and $1.4 million in dead money in 2023 if they make it a June 1 cut. The 28-year-old shouldn't be on the open market for long, as he recorded 101 tackles, seven interceptions, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in his two seasons in New York. This move was all about saving the cash-strapped Giants some money.

Giants Likely To Release James Bradberry

New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen said the team should have a resolution on cornerback James Bradberry by the end of the week, and the situation is obviously headed toward his release. The Giants were hoping to be able to trade Bradberry this offseason, but it doesn't appear that any teams want to trade for him. If New York cuts the 28-year-old by the end of the week, they'll save $10.1 million in salary cap space. He was a first-time Pro Bowler in his first year with the G-Men in 2020, and he managed a career-high four interceptions, two fumble recoveries and 47 tackles (37 solo) in 17 games (16 games) last year. Wherever he lands in 2022, he should be a productive member of a team's secondary.

Giants Receiving Trade Calls On James Bradberry

New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen said the team has received trade calls centered around cornerback James Bradberry. It's something that has been going on for several weeks now. Bradberry, once the jewel of the Giants free-agent class, is not taking part in the team's voluntary offseason workouts as the Giants try to trade him this offseason. The fact that he's due $13.5 million this year makes it more difficult to unload him, but the Giants will continue to try and do so. Bradberry could wind up being traded just before or during the NFL draft. The 28-year-old was a Pro Bowler in 2020 in his first year in the Big Apple, and he had 47 tackles (37 solo), a career-high four interceptions, 17 passes defensed and two fumble recoveries in 17 games last year.

James Bradberry Absent From Offseason Workouts

New York Giants cornerback James Bradberry has been absent from the team's voluntary offseason workouts as general manager Joe Schoen tries to find a trade market for the Pro Bowler. Eventually, the Giants may have no choice but to cut Bradberry because of their terrible salary cap situation. New York has holes at right tackle, defensive line, inside linebacker, outside linebacker and safety. Trading Bradberry would save the team $12.1 million, while they'd have a $9.7 million dead salary cap hit. If he's cut, the Giants would save only $10.1 million. Bradberry is in the last year of his contract and carries a $21.8 million cap hit, and he's not a great fit in new defensive coordinator Don Martindale's man-coverage-heavy scheme.
