A.J. Brown to the Patriots Considered Likely

It remains an open secret that Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown is likely to be dealt after June 1, a date that needs to be cleared to provide Philadelphia with additional salary cap relief. According to NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the New England Patriots are still highly interested in acquiring the three-time Pro Bowler. Per Schefter, the teams are expected to resume conversations on or before June 1st, and league-wide belief is that a deal will get done. Brown turns 29 in June and is coming off the worst statistical season since his final, injury-shortened campaign with Tennessee, but even if on the decline, he would still provide a true dominator on the outside for New England and 2025 MVP candidate Drake Maye. How the two teams approach the receiver position in this week's NFL Draft could be a telling indicator of where talks currently stand.

Eagles Preparing for A.J. Brown's Departure?

ESPN's Jeff Darlington said he thinks the Philadelphia Eagles will be "operating from a place" that wide receiver A.J. Brown will not be on their roster for Week 1 of the 2026 regular season this fall. General manager Howie Roseman has refused to give many details this offseason when asked about Brown's status. Additionally, the team acquired wideout Dontayvion Wicks from the Green Bay Packers. Rumors have swirled about the New England Patriots' and Tennessee Titans' interest in trading for Brown, although nothing has come to fruition yet. All signs are pointing to the Eagles getting much more serious about trading the three-time Pro Bowler after June 1, when it becomes much more financially palatable for them to trade the 28-year-old pass-catcher. Although Brown reached the 1,000-yard mark for the fourth straight season (and in six of his seven NFL seasons), he was unhappy with his offensive role in Philly and had a career-low 12.9 yards per catch in 15 regular-season games. A move to New England would be attractive from a fantasy perspective, but Brown might still be a volatile low-end WR1/high-end WR2 target in fantasy football.

A.J. Brown Still With the Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman continues to say that wide receiver A.J. Brown "is an Eagle" when asked about the possibility that he'll be traded this offseason, according to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network. When asked if the team recently acquiring receiver Dontayvion Wicks from the Green Bay Packers means anything for Brown, Roseman said, "What do you think the odds are that I'm answering this question any different than I answered it anywhere else? Like, really, do you think that's 50 percent? Do you think it's 75 percent?" Adds: "A.J. Brown's an Eagle." Odds are that the Eagles will be looking to trade Brown after June 1, when it makes more financial sense for them to do so. The most rumored destination for the 28-year-old is the New England Patriots, even after they signed Romeo Doubs in free agency. That would be a promising landing spot for Brown, who had his fourth straight 1,000-yard receiving season in 15 starts with the Eagles in 2025. The three-time Pro Bowler was unhappy with his role in Philly last year and had a career-low 12.9 yards per catch. If he were to join the Pats, Brown would continue to have big-play upside with young quarterback Drake Maye.

Dontayvion Wicks Could End Up Being Eagles WR2

If the Philadelphia Eagles trade wide receiver A.J. Brown this summer, the Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski thinks that Dontayvion Wicks would probably be the WR2 behind DeVonta Smith and over Marquise Brown. There are a lot of things working for Wicks. He is younger than Brown, the Eagles have more invested in him, he's under contract for two more years, and he seemingly already has the trust of offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. But perhaps the biggest thing that will separate Wicks from Brown in the competition for the WR2 role if A.J. Brown is traded is the fact that Wicks offers "far more" as a blocker in the running game than Brown does. Kempski thinks it will "matter a lot in this new scheme." The 24-year-old would definitely have a much higher fantasy ceiling as the No. 2 wideout in Philly, but he will also need to fix his issues with drops if he's going to take advantage of the bigger opportunity in his first year with his new team. In three years with the Packers, Wicks never had more than 39 receptions, 581 yards, or five touchdowns in his 46 games (18 starts).

DeVonta Smith  • WR  •  Eagles

Eagles Think DeVonta Smith Could be an Elite WR1

Some in the Philadelphia Eagles' organization think that if wide receiver A.J. Brown were no longer on the team, that DeVonta Smith "can have a similar jump in production" that Jaxon Smith-Njigba had in Seattle with the Seahawks when DK Metcalf was traded, according to Jimmy Kempski of Philly Voice. Kempski also adds that if Brown is traded, Smith will "immediately become the focal point of the passing offense." He has topped 1,000 yards in three of his four NFL seasons while also catching the "dagger" in the team's second franchise Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. "He is wired for this opportunity," Kempski believes. In addition to his Super Bowl ring, Smith won the Heisman Trophy in college and two national championships with Alabama. The 27-year-old former 10th overall pick in 2021 had 77 catches for 1,008 yards and four touchdowns in 17 regular-season games in 2025, with Kempski saying he was "pretty clearly" a better player than Brown. All signs are pointing to Brown getting traded after June 1, which would give Smith a huge fantasy boost heading into next season.

DeVonta Smith  • WR  •  Eagles

Shakeup in Philadelphia Could Lead to a DeVonta Smith Breakout

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith is a former Heisman Trophy winner and 2021 first-round pick, and while he's generally recognized as one of the best pure separators in the league, he's had a fantasy finish inside the WR20 only once in his five-year career. His 9.6 Half-PPR points per game in 2025 were the lowest since his rookie season, and yet, even set to turn 28 during the 2026 season, he could be one of the smartest buys in dynasty. Jalen Hurts is owed no guaranteed money beyond this season, and very public rumblings from Philadelphia's front office have implied they want to see a marked improvement in quarterback play before reinvesting in him. Saquon Barkley, now 29, has entered a stage of his career where workload considerations may become a factor. But perhaps most importantly, more and more writing on the wall has suggested that AJ Brown has played his last down with the Eagles. Should Brown be traded after June 1st, as many around the league are expecting, the path would clear for Smith to assume a true alpha role for the first time since he was a 22-year-old rookie.

Saquon Barkley  • RB  •  Eagles

Is Saquon Barkley Still a Safe Bet to Perform Despite His Falling Dynasty Ranking?

Following a 2024 season in which he topped 2,000 rushing yards and garnered MVP buzz for much of the year, Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley saw his yardage and touchdown numbers nearly cut in half in his second season with the team. Barkley ended 2025 as fantasy's RB14, his lowest finish in any season in which he played at least 15 games, and his first time finishing outside the top six under such circumstances. Injuries to the Eagles' offensive line and turmoil between quarterback Jalen Hurts and receiver AJ Brown left the offense as a whole looking out of sorts for much of the season, and Barkley's 378 total touches from the previous season rarely went unmentioned when discussing the struggles of a now 29-year-old running back with a history of durability concerns. The silver lining is that Barkley is a true athletic outlier in every sense of the word. Even at his worst, he still topped 1,400 yards from scrimmage while scoring nine touchdowns. The Eagles' offensive line is another year older, but when healthy, they remain among the top units in the league, and they could benefit from an increase in the zone-blocking schemes that new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion is expected to bring from the McVay coaching tree. Additionally, loudening rumors have suggested that the Eagles are prepared to ship out AJ Brown after June 1st, with the recent additions made to their receiver room doing little to dissuade the notion. Barkley will be 30 by Super Bowl LXI, but for contending dynasty managers, he still has the ability to far outperform his current RB10 dynasty ranking.

Eagles Acquiring Dontayvion Wicks From the Packers

The Philadelphia Eagles are acquiring wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks from the Green Bay Packers on Friday in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round draft pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick, sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN. Wicks will sign a one-year, $12.5 million extension with the Eagles. The acquisition of Wicks by the Eagles makes it even more likely that the team will trade veteran A.J. Brown after June 1, when it becomes more palatable for them for salary cap purposes. The 24-year-old Wicks, a former fifth-round pick in 2023 out of Virginia, finished the 2025 season on the sidelines due to a concussion. He played in 14 regular-season games and caught a career-low 30 passes for 332 yards and just two touchdowns. Wicks hasn't gone over 39 receptions in any of his first three years in the league, although he could have a path to a much bigger role behind DeVonta Smith in Philly if Brown is indeed traded this offseason. If Brown is traded, Wicks will compete for the WR2 role with Marquise Brown and Elijah Moore, making him slightly more intriguing as a depth WR in dynasty/keeper leagues.

Tank Bigsby  • RB  •  Eagles

Tank Bigsby Still Holds Value Despite Limited Usage

Philadelphia Eagles running back Tank Bigsby began his 2025 season as a Jacksonville Jaguar, with fantasy managers hoping he could carve out something close to a lead-back role. Those hopes were dashed early when a Week 2 trade sent him to an Eagles team that has now seen Saquon Barkley handle almost 23 opportunities per game over the past two seasons. While it became evident early that the former third-round pick was acquired largely for his work as a kick returner, those duties were eventually turned over to Will Shipley and Britain Covey, leaving Bigsby to function primarily as a change-of-pace back and as a direct backup to Barkley. While Bigsby's touches were limited, he was efficient with the work he got, averaging nearly six yards per carry and topping 100 total yards in his lone start of the season, a meaningless Week 18 game in which he also scored a touchdown. Heading into 2026, his role remains unchanged, but his value as an insurance back makes him a must-roster player in dynasty and even deeper redraft leagues. Philadelphia's offensive line still ranks in the top half of the league, and the 29-year-old Barkley's career-long durability concerns have only been amplified by the exorbitant workload he's received with the Eagles.

A.J. Brown to be Traded to Patriots on June 2?

NFL executives expect the New England Patriots to acquire wide receiver A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles in June, once the salary cap implications "become more tenable for the Eagles," according to Mike Sando of The Athletic. The Patriots have not closed the door on adding Brown this offseason despite signing Romeo Doubs to a deal worth $17 million per year. Brown previously played for Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel with the Titans in Tennessee, so the two have a history. The 28-year-old seven-year NFL veteran had his sixth 1,000-yard season in 2025 in 15 regular-season games, but Brown has been in a three-year decline, and he had a career-low 12.9 yards per catch. Still, landing Brown would be huge for a New England team coming off a Super Bowl appearance with young quarterback Drake Maye. Perhaps a change of scenery will be a plus for Brown, who publicly voiced his displeasure with Philly's offense in 2025.

Marquise Brown  • WR  •  Eagles

Marquise Brown's Outlook Dependent on Teammate's Trade Rumors

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Marquise Brown doesn't currently occupy a fantasy-relevant role, but he could get onto the fantasy radar if teammate A.J. Brown is traded this offseason. Marquise Brown inked a one-year deal with the Eagles after ranking as the WR43 with 49 catches, 587 yards, and five touchdowns last year. He's the No. 3 receiver in Philadelphia behind DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown, but he'd jump to No. 2 on the depth chart -- and become a WR3/flex candidate -- if the latter is dealt before Week 1. The 28-year-old is no stranger to playing for competitive teams, spending time with the Ravens, Cardinals, and Chiefs. If he does take on a larger role, he could benefit from a new-look Eagles system that is expected to throw the ball more efficiently under offensive coordinator Sean Mannion.

Jalen Hurts  • QB  •  Eagles

Jalen Hurts, Eagles Aware of Mounting Pressure from Contract

The Philadelphia Eagles and quarterback Jalen Hurts are both cognizant of the fact that he's entering the final guaranteed year of his contract, according to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer. Hurts still has three years left on the extension he signed back in 2023, but only one more year is guaranteed. As McLane notes, it's common for teams and players in this situation to restructure the deal to add more years and guaranteed money, in exchange for lower annual value. However, the Eagles and Hurts have no plans to change his deal, and they'll let him enter 2026 on his current contract. That puts added pressure on him for 2026, since he has no guaranteed money beyond this season. With that being said, the Eagles would still take on a significant cap penalty if they were to take action (trade or release Hurts) next offseason. All the chatter about Hurts' future stems from his rushing production taking a step back in 2025. He was still productive, but his rushing yards and touchdowns dropped to the lowest mark since his rookie campaign in 2021. He was the QB8 in fantasy football, which tied for his worst finish since 2022. A little bit of pressure -- plus a new offensive system under Sean Mannion -- could allow Hurts to bounce back as a top-five fantasy quarterback next year.

Dallas Goedert  • TE  •  Eagles

Dallas Goedert Worth Selling High After Career-Best Campaign?

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert had the best season of his career in 2025, logging career-high marks in catches (60) and touchdowns (11). He also had 591 receiving yards. Goedert ultimately finished as the overall TE7 in PPR leagues, despite missing two games. His big season earned him a one-year contract extension in Philadelphia, where he's the undisputed No. 1 tight end and should maintain a sizable role, especially around the goal line. Goedert's ceiling could climb even higher if the Eagles trade away wide receiver A.J. Brown, because the 31-year-old tight end would assume a lot of his vacated targets. The Eagles are also expected to have an improved offense in 2026 under new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. The stars are aligning for Goedert to have another top-10 finish in 2026, and there's no disputing that he has top-five upside. However, given that he's 31 and only under contract for one more season, he's worth selling high in dynasty leagues. As it stands, he ranks #22 among tight ends in RotoBaller's latest dynasty rankings.

Patriots Still Not Ruling Out an A.J. Brown Trade

New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel didn't rule out the possibility of the team trading for Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN. "We've talked about this since last January. We're going to try to do everything we can to strengthen our roster through the draft, through free agency, multiple ways of player acquisition," Vrabel said at the NFL's annual meeting. The Eagles continue to say that Brown remains a member of the team, but the Eagles are financially incentivized to wait until June 1 to trade the Pro Bowl wideout. The Eagles will take a dead-cap hit of more than $40 million if they trade Brown before then, compared to around $20 million after June 1. The Pats released Stefon Diggs in early March and then signed Romeo Doubs in free agency, but apparently, they are still serious about adding Brown, who would immediately become quarterback Drake Maye's top target in the passing game. Brown played for Vrabel with the Titans from 2019 to 2021. The 28-year-old had his sixth 1,000-yard season in 2025 with the Eagles, but he was clearly upset with the direction of the offense. A move to New England to work with one of the best young QBs in the game could invigorate Brown.

A.J. Brown is a "Member" of the Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said on Sunday at the league meetings that wide receiver A.J. Brown is a "member" of the team amid trade speculation this offseason, according to Tim McManus of ESPN. In January, Roseman said, "It is hard to find great players in the NFL, and A.J. is a great player. I think from my perspective, that's what we're going out and looking for when we go out here in free agency, in the draft, just trying to find great players who love football, and he's that guy." It's no secret that Brown was frustrated with the team's offense in 2025, which has fueled speculation that the Eagles would trade him this offseason. The New England Patriots have been the most commonly discussed destination, but Philly's asking price for Brown is very high, and the Pats also signed Romeo Doubs in free agency. Brown could still be traded, though, as the Eagles are financially incentivized to wait until at least June 1 to trade Brown. The 28-year-old three-time Pro Bowler had his sixth 1,000-yard season in his seventh year in the league, but he also had a career-low 12.9 yards per catch and was as inconsistent as you can get for fantasy managers for a 1,000-yard wideout.

Eagles Sign Elijah Moore to a One-Year Deal

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed wide receiver Elijah Moore to a one-year deal, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. His signing offers additional receiver depth for the Eagles, especially as rumors continue to swirl about a potential A.J. Brown trade. Ironically, this move is a reunion of sorts for Moore and Brown, as the two were teammates at Ole Miss in 2018. Moore, a former second-round pick, is already on his fourth team in the last five years. He fetched 100 targets in back-to-back seasons in 2023 and 2024, but he was buried on the depth chart in Buffalo last season and ultimately caught just nine passes across nine games. He'll look to get back on track in Philadelphia, where there's plenty of wide receiver competition. In addition to rostering Brown and fellow starter DeVonta Smith, the Eagles recently signed veteran Marquise Brown.

DeVonta Smith  • WR  •  Eagles

Wide Range of Possible Outcomes for DeVonta Smith in 2026

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith finished the 2025 campaign, his fifth in the NFL, with 77 catches on 113 targets for 1,008 yards and a career-low four touchdowns in 17 regular-season games. Although he had a disappointing four touchdown catches, Smith did reach the 1,000-yard mark for the third time in his career and bounced back nicely from an injury-plagued season in 2024 in which he played in a career-low 13 games. The 27-year-old former 10th overall pick in 2021 out of Alabama finished the 2025 season as the WR20 in half-PPR scoring, just behind Dallas' CeeDee Lamb. Going into 2026 with a new offensive coordinator in an offense that is looking to reset after a disappointing showing last year, there's still plenty to like about Smith. That will especially be true if the Eagles trade A.J. Brown this offseason. If that comes to pass, Smith would most likely operate as Philly's WR1, giving him an even higher fantasy football ceiling as he enters his sixth year in the NFL.

Tanner McKee  • QB  •  Eagles

Recent Trade Not Indicative of Tanner McKee's Market

The Philadelphia Eagles' acquisition of veteran quarterback Andy Dalton does not appear indicative of the trade market for quarterback Tanner McKee, according to Brooks Kubena of The Athletic. While previous reporting suggested McKee might be available for trade, Kubena notes that the addition of Dalton is not an "immediate step" toward another move. It remains to be seen how this entire situation will unfold as the offseason continues. The NFL Draft is a popular time for backup quarterback trades, so we can't rule out the possibility of McKee still being dealt within the next month or so. He has flashed upside at times in Philadelphia, starting the Eagles' Week 18 game in each of the last two seasons. During his start this past year, he completed 21 of 40 pass attempts for 241 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Among all of McKee's suitors, the Jets have been discussed the most. New York is still looking for a backup to Geno Smith.

Saquon Barkley  • RB  •  Eagles

Saquon Barkley to Benefit From New-Look Offense in 2026?

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley had another strong campaign in 2025, but it was admittedly a little underwhelming by his own standards. Fantasy managers who spent a first-round pick on Barkley after his overall RB2 campaign were also likely a little disappointed to see him drop to RB14 in 2025. Still, that's nothing to scoff at, as Barkley had 1,400+ scrimmage yards and finished as a top-14 running back for the fourth year in a row. His continued dominance should remain present in 2026, when the Eagles roll out a new-look offensive scheme. Head coach Nick Sirianni previously said that new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion will install more zone-blocking concepts, which should benefit Barkley in the running game. It should help the veteran ball-carrier improve upon last year's marks in yards per carry (4.07) and rushing touchdowns (seven). Will we see Barkley get back to the overall RB2 spot? Not necessarily. However, he's firmly in the top-10 conversation, and managers should be willing to buy low on Barkley in dynasty leagues despite him being 29 years old.

Tank Bigsby  • RB  •  Eagles

Tank Bigsby to be Valuable Handcuff Going into First Full Year in Philly

Philadelphia Eagles running back Tank Bigsby began the 2025 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars but was traded to the Eagles after just one game played. In 16 games (one start) with Philly, Bigsby served as the direct backup to star Saquon Barkley, seeing 58 rushing attempts for 344 yards and two touchdowns while adding three catches for 32 yards through the air. In his lone start in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the Washington Commanders, the 24-year-old averaged 4.7 yards per carry for 75 rushing yards and a touchdown on 16 carries, adding a 31-yard catch to his tally. The former third-round pick in 2023 by the Jaguars out of Auburn has averaged a healthy 4.5 yards per carry in his three years in the NFL on 281 rushing attempts, and he's also found the end zone 11 times on the ground in 50 games (two starts). Bigsby isn't going to have much value on a week-to-week basis in 2026 outside of being a handcuff for those who roster Barkley, but he'll be a valuable RB stash in dynasty/keeper leagues. If Barkley were to miss time with an injury, Bigsby would immediately become a must-start fantasy RB.
