Dallas Goedert News

Dallas Goedert Fine After Sucker Punch

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert is OK after being sucker punched in a South Dakota restaurant. Goedert was taken to the hospital after the incident, but has since returned home and will be fine, according to a league source. Goedert finished ninth among tight ends with 58 receptions last season and was 10th at the position with 607 yards. The Eagles played two tight-end formations a league-leading 52 percent of the time last season. While that number will certainly come down with their receivers healthy, Goedert has proven to be too talented to just be a backup for Zach Ertz. Goedert is a streamable TE2 in fantasy but has huge upside if something were to happen to Ertz.

Eagles Love Dallas Goedert

The Philadelphia Eagles love tight end Dallas Goedert, and the sky will continue to be the limit for him despite the presence of Zach Ertz. ESPN.com's Matthew Berry expects the Eagles to continue to find more ways to keep Goedert involved in the passing game in 2020. Given the lack of quality depth at tight end around the league, you can argue that Goedert falls in the TE1 spectrum, especially if Philly doesn't upgrade the wide receiver position after a disastrous 2019 season at that position. Goedert's presence as an up-and-comer also limits Ertz's fantasy ceiling as a high-end TE1.

Dallas Goedert Leads the Eagles Offense in a Wild Card Loss

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert took over the offense in a Wild Card loss, catching seven passes for 73 yards. He led the Eagles in catches, yards, and targets in a game where Zach Ertz (ribs, kidney) was visibly limited. Goedert's fantasy arrow is pointing straight up leading into the 2020 season.
