Jordan Mailata News
Philadelphia Eagles left tackle Jordan Mailata is signing a three-year, $66 million contract extension to remain with the organization long-term, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal includes a $20 million signing bonus and $48 million in guarantees. The new contract puts Mailata only behind Laremy Tunsil, Trent Williams, and Andrew Thomas in average salary among NFL tackles. The 27-year-old was a seventh-round pick by the Eagles in 2018 after his rugby career in Europe. His transition to American football has been impressive, as he's blossomed into one of the league's best blind-side protectors. With future Hall of Fame center Jason Kelce hanging up his cleats this offseason, it's a significant move for the Eagles to keep one of their keystone offensive linemen for the foreseeable future.
Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Jordan Mailata (shoulder) is on track to play in Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys. He initially suffered a shoulder injury in the Week 4 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 25-year-old returned to practice this week and is trending in the right direction toward suiting up against Dallas. Mailata's presence on the o-line will only help quarterback Jalen Hurts and the Eagles' offense. Jack Driscoll will draw the start at left tackle if Mailata is ruled out.
Philadelphia Eagles left tackle Jordan Mailata (knee) has been ruled out for the team's matchup Monday vs. the Cowboys. While it was reported earlier in the week that Mailata is dealing with a sprained MCL, the team waited until Saturday to make his status official, naming Andre Dillard the starter in his stead. Mailata has been the breakout star of the Eagles' offensive line and can be seen as a major loss as the team attempts to keep quarterback Jalen Hurts in a position to trade scoring drives with Dallas. Dillard made four starts with Philadelphia in 2019, but he logged just two offensive snaps over the first two weeks this year. The next chance that Mailata will have to return to action comes in Week 4 against Kansas City.
