Marcus Epps Uncertain To Return On Sunday

Las Vegas Raiders safety Marcus Epps (neck) is questionable to return to Sunday's AFC West showdown with the Chiefs. The 27-year-old suffered a neck injury in the Week 11 loss to the Miami Dolphins and was in danger of missing this one. But since he suffered a stinger, the team may need to place it safe and keep him out for the remainder of the contest. Of course, with any neck injury, Epps may require more extensive testing before clearing him for the Week 14 matchup with the Vikings.

Marcus Epps Injures Neck, Won't Return Sunday

Las Vegas Raiders safety Marcus Epps (neck) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins. He had logged one tackle and one fumble recovery prior to his departure. Chris Smith will take over at safety for the duration of Epps' absence.

Marcus Epps, Tre'von Moehrig Locked In As Starters

Las Vegas Raiders safety Marcus Epps is the team's surefire starter at strong safety this year, while Tre'von Moehrig currently has a firm hold on the free safety spot. Rookie Chris Smith II could push Moehrig if he isn't able to bounce back from a disappointing year in 2022, but defensive coordinator Patrick Graham and the rest of the coaching staff seem to be giving Moehrig the chance to turn things around. Epps signed a two-year, $12 million deal with Vegas in March after starting in every game for the Eagles last year while recording a career-high 94 tackles in Philadelphia. The 27-year-old will be on the radar for fantasy managers in IDP leagues yet again.

Raiders Sign Marcus Epps

The Las Vegas Raiders signed former Philadelphia Eagles safety Marcus Epps to a two-year, $12 million deal on Monday with nearly $8 million guaranteed, according to a source. The 27-year-old started all 20 games for the Eagles last season and now cashes in on the open market. In 17 regular season starts in 2022, Epps had a career-high 94 tackles (70 solo), four tackles for loss, six passes defensed and a forced fumble for Philly. He should be on the IDP radar yet again in his new home as the expected starting strong safety for the Raiders. Epps was initially a sixth-round selection by the Minnesota Vikings in 2019. He has 209 tackles (149 solo) and three interceptions in four NFL campaigns.

Marcus Epps Tests Positive For COVID-19

Philadelphia Eagles safety Marcus Epps has tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, according to a source. There have been no other positive tests from Wednesday's round of testing. The Eagles will now enter intensive COVID-19 protocols during their bye week. The good news is that Epps and any of his potential high-risk close contacts will have extra time to pass through the COVID-19 protocols and be available to play in Week 10 against the division-rival Giants. Check back for updates on the Eagles COVID-19 situation as the week unfolds.
