Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens Will Play In Super Bowl
Philadelphia Eagles offensive guard Landon Dickerson (knee) and center Cam Jurgens (back) both practiced in full all week and were removed from Friday's final injury report. Both offensive linemen will be active for Sunday's Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs, which is great news for Philadelphia's offense. The Eagles have one of the best offensive lines in football, but not having one or both of Dickerson and/or Jurgens for Super Bowl LIX would have been a big downgrade against an experienced and effective Chiefs defensive line. Dickerson injured his knee in the NFC Championship win over the division-rival Washington Commanders, while Jurgens hurt his back in the Divisional Round win over the Los Angeles Rams. Both players could be less than 100% on Sunday, but they should both be expected to start against the Chiefs.
Philadelphia Eagles offensive guard Landon Dickerson (knee) and center Cam Jurgens (back) both put in full practice sessions on Wednesday. Neither Dickerson nor Jurgens practiced at all last week, but the Eagles didn't list either of them with an injury designation on last Friday's final injury report, indicating they both should be just fine to suit up and start this Sunday, Feb. 9, versus the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans. Jurgens injured his back in the Divisional win over the Los Angeles Rams, and although he was active in the NFC Championship win over the division-rival Washington Commanders, he did not start. Dickerson shifted over to center but injured his knee, forcing Jurgens into the game. With an extra week of rest before the Super Bowl, both offensive linemen should start on Sunday, which is great news for Philly's offense.
Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens Removed From Injury Report
Philadelphia Eagles offensive guard Landon Dickerson (knee) and center Cam Jurgens (back) both missed practice for a third straight day this week on Friday, but the Eagles removed them from the final injury report. The Eagles still have another week before they take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, but this means that both Dickerson and Jurgens should be active for the big game, barring any setbacks in practice next week. This is big news for an Eagles offensive line that is one of the best in football when both Dickerson and Jurgens are on the field. Dickerson injured his knee in the win over the division-rival Washington Commanders last Sunday in the NFC Championship, forcing Jurgens into the contest after he suffered a back injury the week prior in the Divisional Round win over the Los Angeles Rams.
Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens Pick Up DNPs Again Thursday
Philadelphia Eagles offensive guard Landon Dickerson (knee) and center Cam Jurgens (back) were both listed as non-participants in practice for the second straight day this week on Thursday. With an extra week off before Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Eagles are resting most of their banged-up players. Dickerson injured his knee in the NFC Championship win over the division-rival Washington Commanders. Jurgens was active for the game but didn't start before entering the game later after Dickerson was injured. We'd expect both players to be active for the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 9, but their injuries will be closely monitored leading up to the big game. Philly has an advantage with their elite offensive line, but if both Dickerson and Jurgens are slowed down by their injuries, it could give KC's defensive line an edge.
Philadelphia Eagles offensive guard Landon Dickerson (knee) and center Cam Jurgens (back) were both listed as non-participants for the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday. Dickerson injured his knee in the win over the division-rival Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship last Sunday. Jurgens, meanwhile, was active despite suffering a back injury the previous week, although he did not start against Washington. Dickerson's knee injury forced Jurgens into the game against the Commanders. Philadelphia has one of the best offensive lines in football, but the health of both Dickerson and Jurgens will perhaps be the biggest storyline heading into the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs. The good news is that Dickerson and Jurgens will have an extra week to recover for Super Bowl LIX.
Landon Dickerson Questionable Sunday, Replaced By Cam Jurgens
Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Landon Dickerson (knee) was replaced by Cam Jurgens to open the second half. According to the FOX broadcast, Dickerson is officially questionable to return. The Eagles' offensive line has seen a couple of changes already today. Jurgens himself was listed as questionable coming into the weekend. There was some speculation that he would be inactive, and while the Eagles ultimately chose to make him active, he did not play in the first half. As a result, Dickerson started at center while Tyler Steen started at left guard. However, Dickerson was wearing a knee brace, and it appears he aggravated that injury during the first half of Sunday's contest. Therefore, Jurgens is now in the game. Given that Jurgens didn't play in the first half, he's likely less than 100 percent and is only playing because Dickerson is banged up. Backup center Nick Gates is inactive, so it's unclear who would play the position if Dickerson remains sidelined and Jurgens can't play every snap. The Eagles have a very strong offensive line, but these injuries certainly have a negative impact on the team's offensive performance. It could have an especially negative effect on the rushing attack, including the Eagles' "tush push" plays in short-yardage scenarios.
Philadelphia Eagles two-time Pro Bowl left guard Landon Dickerson (knee) left the team's Week 15 win over the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday with a knee injury and was replaced by Tyler Steen, who acquitted himself well in the victory despite a few penalties. The second-year offensive tackle could be forced into starting duties in Week 16 against the division-rival Washington Commanders after losing the starting right guard spot to Mekhi Becton in training camp. The 26-year-old Dickerson's status will be one to watch leading up to next week's big divisional battle with the Eagles offense relying a lot on their stout offensive line. Dickerson was hurt on the first drive of the second half against Pittsburgh and was listed as questionable to return initially.
Landon Dickerson Signs Four-Year Extension With Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles and Pro Bowl guard Landon Dickerson agreed to a four-year, $84 million contract extension, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The deal makes the 25-year-old the highest-paid guard in terms of average base salary ($21 million) after making two Pro Bowls in his first three seasons in the NFL. The loss of future Hall-of-Fame center Jason Kelce will be tough to deal with, but locking up Dickerson long-term will help Philly's chances to continue being dominant up front. He'll now block for star running back Saquon Barkley in 2024.
Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Landon Dickerson (thumb) is set to undergo thumb surgery that will hold him out of the Week 16 contest against the New York Giants. According to Tim McManus of ESPN, he will definitely miss that game, but then he'll be evaluated heading into Week 17. The 25-year-old guard earned a Pro Bowl nod last season and with fellow guard Cam Jurgens (pec) also dealing with a pectoral injury, this is a worrisome development late in the season. It doesn't sound like Dickerson's injury will hold him out long-term, but setbacks can and do happen.
Landon Dickerson Is Questionable To Return With Knee Issue
Philadelphia Eagles guard Landon Dickerson (knee) was forced to leave Monday night's game against Tampa Bay with a knee issue and is considered questionable to return. He's an important piece to the offensive line, as he's been ranked in the top half of all starting guards in the NFL according to PFF. His run blocking has been the best part of his game which has helped D'Andre Swift put together back-to-back 100-yard games. If he has to miss any time, it may effect the run game until he comes back.
