Tank Bigsby an Injury Replacement Only

Philadelphia running back Tank Bigsby took his first offensive snaps with the Eagles in Week 7 and followed that up by turning nine carries into 104 yards in a Week 8 win over the Giants that saw starter Saquon Barkley exit early with a groin injury. With the Eagles on a Week 9 bye, Barkley's health remained in question heading into Week 10, making Bigsby a popular waiver add over those two weeks. In Week 10's win over the Packers, Barkley outsnapped Bigsby 44 to eight and saw 25 total opportunities to Bigsby's 3, proving once again that when healthy, the Eagles' backfield belongs to Barkley. Bigsby is still worthy of a roster spot as the apparent next man up behind Barkley, but heading into a Week 11 matchup with the Lions, he has no standalone value.

Tank Bigsby Could be New Primary Handcuff in Eagles Backfield

Philadelphia Eagles running back Tank Bigsby took over lead back duties in Week 8 after Saquon Barkley left the game early due to a groin injury. Despite logging zero offensive snaps in his first five weeks on the team, Bigsby has seemingly jumped up to being the primary backfield backup after getting nine carries for 104 yards against the Giants. It's unlikely the former Jaguar will see much action this week against the Packers-or any game that Barkley plays in for that matter-but keep an eye on Bigsby as a top-tier handcuff in a pinch.

Tank Bigsby in Line for Expanded Role in Week 10?

In the Philadelphia Eagles' final game before their Week 9 bye, star running back Saquon Barkley (groin) was forced to exit the game early due to a groin injury. That opened up an opportunity for Eagles back Tank Bigsby, who rushed for 104 yards on nine carries after taking over for Barkley. Immediately after Philadelphia's Week 8 game concluded, Barkley told reporters he expected to be ready for Week 10. Still, Bigsby could play a larger role in the Eagles' offense if Barkley is limited or his injury proves to be more serious than initially expected. Bigsby should be a waiver-wire target of fantasy managers in leagues with 12 or more teams heading into a Week 10 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

Tank Bigsby Could See Larger Role After Bye Week

Philadelphia Eagles running back Tank Bigsby could carry some fantasy relevance as the team heads into its bye week. Bigsby impressed in the 38-20 win over the New York Giants, rushing for 104 yards on just nine carries. The fourth year back spent the first three seasons of his career in Jacksonville, but was traded after Week 1 to Philadelphia to be the backup. Saquon Barkley suffered a groin injury late in the game, potentially opening the door for Bigsby to see an expanded role if Barkley misses time. Barkley downplayed the injury to reporters, and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport noted it's not believed to be serious. For now, Bigsby remains a valuable handcuff, though the Week 9 bye gives Barkley additional time to recover and return by Week 10.

Tank Bigsby Worth Stashing Through Eagles' Week 9 Bye?

Since being acquired by the Philadelphia Eagles in early September, running back Tank Bigsby has seen minimal usage. Heading into Week 8, Bigsby had seen just two total touches. However, that changed in Week 8 after Eagles RB1 Saquon Barkley (groin) was forced to exit the game early due to a groin injury. Bigsby recorded nine carries for 104 yards against the New York Giants with Barkley sidelined for a significant portion of the second half of the game. The Eagles have their bye week in Week 9, and Barkley reportedly appears confident that he'll be healthy enough to play in Week 10 against the Green Bay Packers. The bye week limits Bigsby's fantasy appeal, but he's still a name to monitor as long as there's any question about Barkley's health status. For deep-league managers with an available roster spot, stashing Bigsby through the bye week could pay dividends if Barkley's injury ends up being worse than it initially seems.

Tank Bigsby Unlikely To Have Big Enough Role Yet For Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles just traded for Tank Bigsby on Monday, and the former Jaguar is currently listed as the third running back on the depth chart. He was far outpaced by Travis Etienne Jr. in Jacksonville's first game, and was splitting touches with Bhayshul Tuten as well. Bigsby only managed 12 yards on five carries against the Panthers in Week 1, which clearly didn't impress the Jaguars front office enough to keep him on the roster. Eagles backup RB Will Shipley (rib) is officially out for the upcoming contest against Kansas City, clearing the runway a bit for Bigsby, but probably not enough for any real fantasy production. Shipley and AJ Dillon combined for 13 snaps on offense against Dallas last week, while Saquon Barkley totaled 50. With a star like Barkley ahead of him, Bigsby should not be considered for lineups in Week 2.

Eagles Acquiring Tank Bigsby From Jaguars on Monday

The Philadelphia Eagles are acquiring running back Tank Bigsby from the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday in exchange for fifth- and sixth-round draft picks in 2026, sources told Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports. There were rumblings this offseason that the Jaguars were considering trading one of Bigsby or Travis Etienne Jr. after they drafted Bhayshul Tuten in April, and now it's come to fruition. The Eagles will get more insurance for Saquon Barkley after Will Shipley went down with a rib injury in the season-opening win over the Cowboys last Thursday. There is conflicting information regarding whether the trade for Bigsby has anything to do with Shipley's rib issue. The Eagles are expected to explore using Bigsby as a kickoff returner, which won't do anything for his fantasy value with the move to Philly. Tuten, meanwhile, becomes much more interesting as a bench stash. He's currently only rostered in 57% of Yahoo leagues.

Travis Etienne Jr., Tank Bigsby Listed as Co-Starters

On the Jacksonville Jaguars' first unofficial depth chart of the regular season, they have listed running backs Travis Etienne Jr. and Tank Bigsby as co-starters, according to Demetrius Harvey of the Florida Times-Union. Rookie Bhayshul Tuten is the RB3, and LeQuint Allen Jr. comes in at RB4 heading into the Week 1 matchup against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. The Jaguars are keeping it close to the vest how their RB usage will shake out between Etienne and Bigsby on Sunday against a Panthers defense that was the worst unit against the run in all of football. Both Etienne and Bigsby could both see decent workloads in the season opener against a defense that was downright awful in 2024, putting them both in the RB3/flex conversation for fantasy. Meanwhile, Tuten should open the year in a change-of-pace role for Jacksonville.

Jaguars Likely to Trade One of Travis Etienne Jr. or Tank Bigsby?

Jacksonville Jaguars beat writer John Shipley of Sports Illustrated believes that the team is looking to trade one of its veteran running backs, Travis Etienne Jr. or Tank Bigsby. Jacksonville has been rotating first-team reps between Etienne Jr., Bigsby, and fourth-round rookie Bhayshul Tuten throughout the preseason. Rookie seventh-rounder LeQuint Allen Jr. is also expected to make the 53-man roster, per Shipley. Between Jacksonville's two backs with NFL experience, Etienne Jr. is the superior pass-catcher, while Bigsby is a better early-down and goal-line rusher. Both profile as low-end RB3/flex options in fantasy as long as they are splitting reps in Jacksonville, so it's possible that a trade would help the outlooks for each.

Jaguars Backfield Becoming a Split Rise of Tank Bigsby

The Jacksonville Jaguars feature one of the NFL's deepest running back rooms, and Tank Bigsby has emerged as more than just a change-of-pace option. Bigsby outcarried Travis Etienne 168 to 150 in 2024, showcasing the coaching staff's trust in him as a steady early-down runner. Etienne, however, remains a dynamic weapon with pass-catching and big-play ability. Rookie Bhayshul Tuten and LeQuint Allen also provide depth, but fantasy managers should expect another close split between Bigsby and Etienne. Both backs are draftable, with Etienne carrying more upside, while Bigsby offers consistent flex appeal.
