Tank Bigsby Sidelined With Toe Injury

Philadelphia Eagles running back Tank Bigsby (toe) was not practicing Monday, according to Zach Berman. Bigsby has been getting plenty of work behind Saquon Barkley during training camp and is currently listed second at running back on Philadelphia's unofficial depth chart, ahead of Will Shipley. He has also mixed in regularly with the first-team offense this summer after showing some explosiveness in a limited role last season. Bigsby rushed 58 times for 344 yards and two touchdowns after joining the Eagles in a September trade with Jacksonville, averaging 5.9 yards per carry. It's unclear how much time the toe injury might cost him, so his status will be worth watching over the next few practices. Any extended absence would create more opportunities for Shipley and the rest of Philadelphia's backfield behind Barkley.

Drumbeat Growing Louder for Tank Bigsby

Without the benefit of training camp with the team following an in-season trade from the Jaguars, Philadelphia Eagles running back Tank Bigsby saw limited offensive work and ran for only 344 yards in 2025. While the raw production is far from staggering, his 5.9 yards per carry were hard to ignore, especially with three-time Pro Bowler Saquon Barkley averaging only 4.1 yards per attempt behind the same banged-up offensive line. In his first training camp with the team, Bigsby has been praised for his physicality, and there is a growing belief that he could see a significant uptick in between-the-tackles work this season in an attempt to keep the 29-year-old Barkley fresh. While no one is reasonably suggesting a 50/50 split, Bigsby could see enough volume in 2026 to hold standalone value in what has been one of the league's run-heaviest offenses since Nick Sirianni took over in 2021. Bigsby is RotoBaller's RB46, and even if he is unable to carve out a flex-worthy role, he remains one of fantasy's most valuable insurance backs.

Tank Bigsby Looking Good Early in Training Camp

Philadelphia Eagles running back Tank Bigsby ran for a touchdown and caught a pass from quarterback Jalen Hurts over the middle during training camp practice on Thursday, according to John Clark of NBC Sports. Bigsby is getting "a lot of action" during the first couple of days of training camp in Philly. Before training camp started, the expectation was that Bigsby would be locked in as the team's RB2 behind starter Saquon Barkley, and after the first couple of practices, that is firmly the case. The 24-year-old was acquired from the Jacksonville Jaguars last year just before Week 2 of the season, and he finished the year with 58 carries for 344 yards (5.9 yards per tote) and two touchdowns in 16 games with the Eagles. The former third-rounder from Auburn is a rugged runner with plenty of big-play potential, giving Philly a nice complement to Barkley's finesse style. At the very worst, Bigsby should be considered one of the top handcuff backs in the league going into the 2026 campaign. RotoBaller has the fourth-year player ranked just inside the top-50 fantasy RBs this year.

Tank Bigsby Could be One of the Top RB Handcuffs to Roster

Philadelphia Eagles running back Tank Bigsby is heading into his first full year as the top backup in Philly to star Saquon Barkley after the Eagles acquired him from the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2025 after just one game. In 16 regular-season games in Philly last year, Bigsby had 58 rushing attempts for 344 yards (5.9 yards per carry) and two rushing touchdowns, adding only three receptions for 32 yards as a pass-catcher. The 24-year-old is a power back with little pass-catching prowess, but if Barkley were to miss time due to injury in 2026, the former third-rounder by the Jaguars in 2023 out of Auburn would at least be the team's unquestioned early-down back in an offense looking to bounce back from a woeful 2025 campaign. Bigsby's big-play abilities -- he has six carries of 20-plus yards in his last 231 rushing attempts -- make him an intriguing handcuff option for fantasy managers who take Barkley early in drafts. The downfall is that Bigsby's fantasy upside as a lead back if Barkley is injured will be limited because he has shown very little in the way of producing as a pass-catcher. The Eagles have Will Shipley, Dameon Pierce, and Elijah Mitchell in the RB room, too, but it would be a surprise if Bigsby didn't enter the regular season as the unquestioned RB2.

Tank Bigsby to be Eagles Clear No. 2 Running Back?

The Philadelphia Eagles acquired running back Tank Bigsby from the Jacksonville Jaguars early in the 2025 season, and he went on to carry the ball 58 times for 344 yards (career-high 5.9 yards per carry) and two touchdowns in 16 games (one start), adding three catches for 32 yards. Saquon Barkley remains the centerpiece for new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, but he needs a complementary weapon in the backfield, and that's were Bigsby comes in. The 24-year-old former third-rounder in 2023 out of Auburn is a physical, explosive RB who can give Barkley a breather while also helping Philly's ground attack remain strong as they look to bounce back from a disappointing 2025 campaign. If Bigsby can maintain his efficiency and explosive ability in a new-look Eagles offense, he could be the most valuable handcuff in fantasy circles in 2026. He probably won't become a fixture on offense as long as Barkley stays healthy, but he should be clearly ahead of Will Shipley, Dameon Pierce, and Elijah Mitchell in the Eagles' RB room. RotoBaller has Bigsby ranked as the No. 50 fantasy RB this year. If you draft Barkley early, make it a point to handcuff Bigsby to him later on.

Tank Bigsby Well-Positioned to Handle Primary Backup Duties in Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Eagles traded for running back Tank Bigsby after Week 1 of the 2025 season, and while much of his contribution from that point forward came in the return game, a full offseason with the team could have the fourth-year back in line for primary backup responsibilities behind Saquon Barkley in one of fantasy's most valuable handcuff roles. The rest of the Eagles' running backs room features a diverse set of skills from Will Shipley, Dameon Pierce, and Elijah Mitchell, but at 6'0" and 213 pounds, Bigsby is perhaps best equipped to handle the closest to a full workload should the 29-year-old Barkley miss extended time. That size could also help to keep Barkley fresh throughout the year by potentially taking a handful of between-the-tackles runs off his plate each game, a consideration that should be made with the three-time Pro Bowler having handled more than 800 touches over the past two seasons. Should new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion opt to sprinkle in more touches for Bigsby, the former Jaguar could find a sliver of standalone value, but even as strictly injury insurance, Bigsby is a high-value dynasty stash and worthwhile trade target behind an aging bell cow with a history of durability concerns, in one of the league's run-heaviest offenses.

Tank Bigsby Could See an Increase in Snaps in 2026

Philadelphia Eagles running back Tank Bigsby could see an increase in snaps in his second year with the team, according to Geoff Mosher of PhillyVoice. Mosher speculates that Bigsby's one-cut running style may actually be a better fit for new Eagles play-caller Sean Mannion's offensive scheme than star running back Saquon Barkley's "freelance" approach. Philadelphia acquired Bigsby one week into the 2025 season, and he finished the year with 344 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just 58 carries across 16 games. In games where Barkley is available, the Eagles have typically leaned on him heavily as a three-down workhorse. However, Bigsby was highly efficient as a rusher (5.9 yards per carry) when given the opportunity in 2025. If he earns more touches in 2026, he could carve out some standalone fantasy value. Either way, he carries significant upside as a high-end handcuff running back option for fantasy managers.

Is Tank Bigsby a Worthy Dynasty Stash Entering 2026?

After being acquired from the Jacksonville Jaguars in September, Philadelphia Eagles running back Tank Bigsby played a minimal role in his team's offense in 2025. With star Eagles back Saquon Barkley dominating touches, Bigsby finished the year with 58 carries for 344 yards and two touchdowns across 16 games with Philadelphia. As long as Barkley remains healthy in 2026, Bigsby is highly unlikely to provide fantasy-relevant production. Still, Bigsby has proven he can produce as a rusher at the NFL level when given the chance, averaging 4.9 yards per carry and scoring nine touchdowns over the last two seasons. With Barkley entering his age-29 season and coming off back-to-back campaigns with at least 350 touches, Bigsby profiles as a prime handcuff option for dynasty managers.

Tank Bigsby Remains a High-End Dynasty Handcuff Running Back in Philadelphia

After opening 2025 with the Jacksonville Jaguars, running back Tank Bigsby was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles after Week 1. The 24-year-old saw limited playing time in Philadelphia while playing a backup role to star Eagles running back Saquon Barkley. Across 16 games with Philly, Bigsby recorded 58 carries for 344 yards and two touchdowns. As long as Barkley stays healthy, Bigsby's path to fantasy-relevant production is blocked. However, Barkley is entering his age-29 season and has recorded consecutive 350-plus touch campaigns, including playoff action. Bigsby has been a highly efficient rusher when given the opportunity to this point in his NFL career, averaging 4.9 yards per carry over the past two seasons. Should Barkley go down at any point in 2026, Bigsby could immediately vault into the top-24 conversation at the running back position. In dynasty formats, Bigsby remains a high-end handcuff option heading into 2026.

Tank Bigsby Still Holds Value Despite Limited Usage

Philadelphia Eagles running back Tank Bigsby began his 2025 season as a Jacksonville Jaguar, with fantasy managers hoping he could carve out something close to a lead-back role. Those hopes were dashed early when a Week 2 trade sent him to an Eagles team that has now seen Saquon Barkley handle almost 23 opportunities per game over the past two seasons. While it became evident early that the former third-round pick was acquired largely for his work as a kick returner, those duties were eventually turned over to Will Shipley and Britain Covey, leaving Bigsby to function primarily as a change-of-pace back and as a direct backup to Barkley. While Bigsby's touches were limited, he was efficient with the work he got, averaging nearly six yards per carry and topping 100 total yards in his lone start of the season, a meaningless Week 18 game in which he also scored a touchdown. Heading into 2026, his role remains unchanged, but his value as an insurance back makes him a must-roster player in dynasty and even deeper redraft leagues. Philadelphia's offensive line still ranks in the top half of the league, and the 29-year-old Barkley's career-long durability concerns have only been amplified by the exorbitant workload he's received with the Eagles.
