Lane Johnson Inactive for Wild-Card Round

Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson (foot) is inactive for his team's Wild Card Weekend matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Johnson has not played since suffering a Lisfranc injury in his foot in Week 11. The 35-year-old was able to return to practice in a limited capacity this week, but it appears Philadelphia will need to advance to the Divisional round at least before it gets Johnson back in the lineup. Johnson is a six-time Pro-Bowler and five-time All-Pro who is widely considered one of the best right tackles in football. Without him, Philadelphia will likely turn to reserve tackle Fred Johnson for the eighth straight game. Pro Football Focus graded Fred Johnson as the 69th-best tackle out of 89 qualified players at the position in 2025.

Lane Johnson Could Return for Wild-Card Weekend

Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson (foot), who has been out since Week 11 with a foot injury, is listed as questionable for Sunday's Wild Card matchup with the 49ers, but there is a growing sense that he could suit up and play this week. Johnson has been a limited practice participant leading up to the game, which is a positive step after several weeks of DNPs. The Eagles' offense has been one of the more frustrating units to watch this season, particularly for fantasy purposes, but Johnson's steadying presence could help to put things back on track for Saquon Barkley and the rest of the defending champions. After an up-and-down season, Barkley is RotoBaller's RB5 for the opening week of fantasy playoff leagues.

Lane Johnson Expected to Practice on Wednesday

Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson (foot) is expected to practice on Wednesday for the first time since he suffered a Lisfranc foot injury against the Detroit Lions on Nov. 16, NFL sources told Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer. Although Johnson has made progress in his recovery, he has yet to test his right foot before the Eagles decide on his availability for the Wild-Card playoff game this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. The 35-year-old veteran was playing at a Pro Bowl level despite battling other ailments in 2025. The Eagles went 3-4 in the seven games that he missed with his foot injury, and they are now 18-28 in games that Johnson has missed in his 13-year career. Johnson has missed one of a possible 15 career playoff games, which was a Wild-Card loss to the Seahawks in 2020. It's clear that Johnson is an integral part of the Eagles' success, so we'll keep a close eye on his practice status all week.

Lane Johnson Not Expected to Play in Week 18

Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson (foot) will not play in Sunday's Week 18 contest against the Washington Commanders. He was ruled out after missing practice on Friday. The Eagles are resting many key starters for non-injury reasons this weekend, but Johnson's case is a little different because he's injured. The 35-year-old lineman is working his way back from an absence that has now lasted seven weeks. Philadelphia is hopeful that he can return to action for the Wild Card Round of the playoffs next weekend. In the meantime, Fred Johnson will start at right tackle against the Commanders on Sunday afternoon.

Lane Johnson to Miss Another Week?

The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane reports that it's sounding like Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson (foot) will need another week before he can return. The Eagles aren't in a rush to bring him back in Week 15 with a date against the visiting Las Vegas Raiders. Philly has lost three straight games with Johnson out, and they've gone 14-27 when the future Hall of Famer has not played in his career. The 35-year-old missed Wednesday's practice as he continues to deal with a Lisfranc sprain in his right foot. If Johnson misses another game this weekend, Fred Johnson is expected to make another start at right tackle. While we'd still be surprised if the Eagles don't end their losing streak against the hapless Raiders, it's worth noting and could give the Eagles' offensive line problems defending All-Pro pass-rusher Maxx Crosby.

Lane Johnson Ruled Out for Week 14

Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson (foot) did not practice on Saturday, and he has been ruled out ahead of Monday's Week 14 contest against the Los Angeles Chargers. Johnson has allowed seven hurries and zero sacks in 2025, serving as a key protector for Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, and the entire Eagles offense. Week 14 is the first time he has completely missed a game this year, leaving Fred Johnson in line to step up as Philadelphia's starting right tackle.

Lane Johnson Expected to Miss 4-6 Weeks With Foot Injury

Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson (foot) exited Sunday's 16-9 win against the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football with a foot injury that could cause him to miss 4-6 weeks. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the news. Johnson suffered a Lisfranc sprain in Week 11, an issue that, depending on the severity, could be a chore to come back from. Per Rapoport, Philadelphia hopes the injury isn't season-ending, although Johnson will seek additional opinions as it's further assessed. Any time missed by the 35-year-old would hurt the Eagles' offensive line, so it's unfortunate to see that it could be no sooner than a month until his return date. Teammate Fred Johnson figures to man the edge in his stead.

Lane Johnson Questionable to Return with Shoulder Injury

Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson (shoulder) exited during the second half of Sunday's Week 4 contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is officially questionable to return. The veteran lineman had played 100 percent of the offensive snaps through the first two weeks of the season before spending most of last week on the sideline due to a neck injury. He's now banged up again, but the severity of the injury is unknown. As of now, it's unclear whether he'll miss any time. Fred Johnson will take over at right tackle until Johnson can return.

Lane Johnson in No Rush To Retire

Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro and likely future Hall of Fame offensive tackle Lane Johnson is entering his 13th NFL campaign since being selected in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma. The 35-year-old is one of the longest-tenured players in Eagles history, and his six Pro Bowls and five All-Pro selections demonstrate his elite level of play over a long period. During an interview with NFL Network's "Good Morning Football", Johnson spoke on his potential retirement plans. "I still feel young in heart, but you can't ignore Father Time. I'm still having fun and enjoying what I do. I love being around the guys, competing, and it's just something that I really love doing every minute of it." Johnson signed a one-year contract extension this offseason to keep him in Philly through 2027, so he could be looking to play at least three more seasons if he continues to perform at a high level, which is great news for Jalen Hurts and company.

Lane Johnson Will Play Next Season

Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson says that he'll be returning next season whether they win or lose the upcoming Super Bowl. The 12-year veteran did mention that he's going to take it year-to-year after the 2025 season. Johnson has been a key piece to the Eagles success on offense and will now head to his second Super Bowl over the last three seasons. The 34-year-old can likely pick when he wants to retire as the Eagles are likely going to continue bringing him back as long he plays at an elite level. Johnson isn't a free agent until 2027, so he'll likely be in Philly until then.
