Dontayvion Wicks Looking Like Eagles' WR2 in Training Camp

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks keeps making noise in training camp. John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia called Wicks the Eagles' WR2 on Thursday and said he was "outstanding again" before highlighting another connection with Jalen Hurts. Wicks beat cornerback Riq Woolen for a touchdown on the play, talked a little trash afterward and then celebrated with Hurts. This hasn't been a one-day flash, either. Wicks has been making plays throughout camp, including a one-handed grab earlier this month, and Philadelphia has him with the starting group on its first unofficial depth chart. The Eagles acquired him from Green Bay in April after he caught 30 passes for 332 yards and two touchdowns last season. He has 108 catches for 1,328 yards and 11 scores through three NFL seasons. With A.J. Brown now in New England, there was always going to be room for another receiver to step forward. So far, Wicks looks like he is doing exactly that.

Dontayvion Wicks to Be a "Big Factor" in Eagles' Passing Game

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks is lined up to be a major contributor in his expanded opportunity with his new team, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Wicks is entering his fourth year in the NFL, and after being traded from Green Bay to Philadelphia, the fifth-round pick from Virginia signed a one-year extension to stay with the Eagles for at least this season and next season. He only had 30 catches for 332 yards and two touchdowns last season in Green Bay's deep receiver room, but he could be the early favorite to land the Eagles' WR2 spot and has been taking advantage of more work with DeVonta Smith (hamstring) and Makai Lemon (hamstring) sidelined. Wicks is currently the No. 82 WR in RotoBaller's rankings, and with his ADP of 192 on Yahoo fantasy football, he will be a great depth and sleeper pick if he is ready to step in as a major contributor in the Eagles' passing game.

Dontayvion Wicks Emerging as the WR2 in Philadelphia

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks has been one of the team's most consistent offensive performers through the opening weeks of training camp, and with Makai Lemon now sidelined with a hamstring injury, the Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski has Wicks penciled in for the WR2 spot across from DeVonta Smith, noting that the offseason trade acquisition has clearly looked like the second-best receiver in camp. The departure of three-time Pro Bowler A.J. Brown left an obvious need on the outside, and at 6'1" and 206 pounds, Wicks looked like the best fit on paper, but his performance through the first five practices of camp suggests the role should be his to start the season. With his production declining year over year in Green Bay, a change of scenery could remind fantasy managers of the traits that made him a popular sleeper candidate early in his career, and as RotoBaller's WR80, Wicks has the potential to greatly exceed ADP expectation in 2026.

Dontayvion Wicks Serving as WR1 Amid Eagles' Injuries

With Philadelphia Eagles wide receivers DeVonta Smith and rookie Makai Lemon both sitting out of training camp practice on Tuesday due to hamstring injuries, Dontayvion Wicks is serving as the team's WR1, according to Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94WIP.com. Wicks has a massive opportunity in 2026 in his fourth year in the NFL after being acquired from the Green Bay Packers in an offseason trade. The 25-year-old has a clear path to WR2 duties in Philly behind Smith after the Eagles sent A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots. The former fifth-rounder in 2023 from the University of Virginia has impressed in training camp so far as he looks for an expanded role in Philly's new-look offense. Head coach Nick Sirianni has compared Wicks to veteran wideout Keenan Allen because of his versatility. As long as he doesn't get injured, Wicks figures to beat out Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore, and depending on Lemon's development, there's a path to WR2 duties. Wicks is gaining some steam early in camp and could continue to rise up draft boards at the WR position. Currently, RotoBaller has him ranked as the No. 80 fantasy WR after catching 108 passes for 1,328 yards and 11 touchdowns in his first three seasons with Green Bay.

Dontayvion Wicks Makes Play of the Day, Emerging as No. 2 WR

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks made the play of the day in training camp practice on Thursday and is quickly emerging as the team's No. 2 wideout behind DeVonta Smith now that A.J. Brown is gone, according to Jeff Neiburg of The Philadelphia Inquirer. Quarterback Jalen Hurts made an impressive throw across his body deep down the field to Wicks, who jumped over defensive backs Cole Wisniewski and Jakorian Bennett to make the 40-plus-yard catch. Wicks is among the early camp risers in terms of fantasy football stock after the Eagles acquired him from the Green Bay Packers in the offseason. The 25-year-old former fifth-rounder from Virginia never had more than 581 receiving yards or 39 receptions in his three years in Green Bay, although he has averaged 12.3 yards per catch and had nine total touchdowns in his first two seasons in the NFL. Wicks was also always part of a jumbled WR room with the Packers. In Philly, it appears he could be locked into the WR2 role, which would afford him a much better target rate while seeing the field more often in a new offense that is looking to rebound in a major way. Wicks is shaping up as an interesting late-round fantasy sleeper at WR in 2026.

Dontayvion Wicks in Serious Competition for No. 2 Wide Receiver Role

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks is in serious competition for the No. 2 wide receiver role in the Eagles' offense, according to Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94.1 WIP. The Eagles are entering the next phase of their passing game after trading A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots. The Eagles acquired Wicks earlier this offseason and selected Makai Lemon with the 20th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The two will battle for the No. 2 role during training camp, which will hold its first session on July 29th. Wicks turned heads during early offseason workouts and earned high praise from players and coaches, while Lemon missed time due to a hamstring strain. Wicks has a real chance to win the No. 2 role and could become a league winner in fantasy football for 2026.

Dontayvion Wicks Impressing New Teammates in Philadelphia

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks has stood out as the team's most physical wideout against press-man coverage, per Brooks Kubena of The Athletic. Kubena also reports that Eagles players and coaches have said Wicks was underrated during his time with the Green Bay Packers. Philadelphia acquired Wicks from Green Bay this past offseason for a pair of late-round draft picks, and the 25-year-old enters training camp competing with rookie wideout Makai Lemon for the team's WR2 job alongside DeVonta Smith. Wicks flashed upside at certain points in his three-year career with the Packers, but ultimately failed to carve out a significant role in the Green Bay offense. Across 14 games (seven starts) in 2025, Wicks recorded 30 catches for 332 yards and two touchdowns on 46 targets. However, Wicks should have a clearer path to playing time and fantasy-relevant target volume in Philadelphia than he did in Green Bay's crowded wide receiver room. At his current redraft ADP of WR93, Wicks could be a late-round sleeper to target.

Dontayvion Wicks a Sneaky Sleeper at Current Redraft ADP

The Philadelphia Eagles traded for wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks early this offseason in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round draft pick and a 2027 sixth-round draft pick. Immediately after the trade, the Eagles signed Wicks to a one-year $12.5 million contract extension. The 25-year-old will have an opportunity to be a top target earner for the first time in his young career. The Eagles' passing offense is heading into its next evolution after the departure of A.J. Brown and will be led by first-time play-caller Sean Mannion. This summer, Wicks has consistently been getting first-team reps and getting high praise from teammates and coaches. Head coach Nick Sirianni went as far as to compare Wicks' route-running and versatility to Keenan Allen. It is within Wicks' realm of outcomes to be the No. 2 target in the passing game by the end of the season. He is a value in drafts and currently going outside the top 200 on Sleeper.

Dontayvion Wicks Best Viewed as a Deep-League Redraft Stash

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks is coming off a quiet year, but his move to Philadelphia gives him another chance to matter in fantasy. He finished 2025 with 30 catches for 332 yards and two touchdowns, both of which came in a six-catch, 94-yard game against Detroit. The Eagles still saw enough to trade a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 sixth-rounder for him, then extended him through 2027. There is room for someone to emerge after A.J. Brown was dealt to New England, and Wicks already has some familiarity with new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion from Green Bay. The opportunity is real. So is the competition. DeVonta Smith sits at the top of the depth chart, while rookie Makai Lemon, Hollywood Brown, and Elijah Moore will all be in the mix. Wicks enters camp with a chance to win a starting job, but nothing beyond Smith looks settled yet. Ranked WR84 by RotoBaller, he makes more sense as a deep-league stash than a standard-league sleeper until the rotation starts to take shape.

Dontayvion Wicks a "Key Piece" to the Eagles Offense?

The Philadelphia Eagles sent fifth and seventh-round picks to the Packers back in April to acquire fourth-year wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks. At the time, the deal to send two-time Pro Bowler A.J. Brown to the Patriots, which has since become official, was viewed in some league circles as a foregone conclusion, and NFL reporter Albert Breer believes that Wicks will be a major piece of the puzzle in replacing Brown's productivity. In a revamped Eagles receiver room, Wicks stands out for the size he offers over DeVonta Smith, Makai Lemon, and Marquise Brown, and he has the most experience playing on the boundary, where Brown saw close to 90% of his snaps in 2025. With Lemon unable to take part in minicamp practices due to an injured hamstring, many reports had Wicks labeled as a standout and an early candidate to earn reps alongside Smith in two-receiver sets. Coming from a similarly crowded receiver room in Green Bay, Wicks has been unable to match the 581 yards of his 2023 rookie season, but with a clean slate in a new-look Philadelphia offense, Breer believes he has the ability to earn a major role, and he could become a late-round draft steal as RotoBaller's WR80.
