Jalen Hurts News
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (illness) confirmed that he played the Monday night win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers through flu-like symptoms. "Just us executing," Hurts said, describing what it took to gut it out. "It's not the first time I've dealt with this or had to play with something like this. And it always happens on Monday night for whatever reason." Despite Hurts and several other members of the team being under the weather, the Eagles offense put up 472 yards, led by running back D'Andre Swift (130 rushing yards) and receiver A.J. Brown (nine catches for 131 yards). Hurts had an up-and-down performance, throwing and rushing for a touchdown while also throwing a couple of interceptions.
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts completed 23 of 37 passes for 277 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions while adding 10 carries for 28 yards and an additional score during the team's 25-11 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Philadelphia was in control for most of the contest, with Hurts looking much more poised in the pocket. Once the rain started to come down, the passing game was compromised a bit for both offenses. The 25-year-old threw a bad pick on a miscommunication throw and had a deep pass intercepted on the goal line. The Eagles quarterback will be a must-start again next week against the division rival Washington Commanders.

After getting back on track and scoring three total touchdowns in Week 2 against Minnesota, the 25-year-old will look to continue to roll against a solid Tampa Bay defense. The Buccaneers were able to shut down Justin Fields and the Chicago passing attack last week but will struggle to put as much pressure on Hurts. While the Eagles offense has not looked as in sync as they were during their Super Bowl run, it started to click in the second half of last week's Thursday night matchup and should continue to adjust. With a high-scoring floor due to his rushing ability, the Eagles starting quarterback should be considered a top-tier option in Week 3.
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts enters the 2023 season as a clear top-five option at the position. Compared to the 24-year-old's 2021 campaign, Hurts increased his completion percentage by 4.8%, tacked on 557 passing yards, and added six passing touchdowns giving him a total of 22 last season. While that number may look unimpressive compared to other top-tier fantasy quarterbacks, the former Oklahoma Sonner added plenty of fantasy points through the ground game. Hurts finished No. 1...
