Hollywood Brown Gets Extra Work After Practice

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Hollywood Brown put in some extra work with quarterback Jalen Hurts following Thursday's practice. According to Jeff McLane, Hurts and Brown stayed behind to work specifically on an out route into the end zone. Earlier in 7-on-7 drills, a Hurts pass intended for Brown was intercepted, though there was no indication that Brown was responsible for the turnover. The veteran joined Philadelphia on a one-year deal in March after catching 49 passes for 587 yards and five touchdowns with Kansas City last season. Brown has made some plays during camp, but McLane described his overall showing as underwhelming earlier this week. The Eagles expected Brown to be heavily involved in the receiver rotation this summer, so the extra work with Hurts is notable as the two continue trying to sharpen their timing before the season.

Jalen Hurts "Looks Faster" in Camp

Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio spoke with reporters on Tuesday, and in discussing what he's seen from the other side of the ball, he said that quarterback Jalen Hurts "looks faster" in camp this year. While Fangio enters his third season with the Eagles, Sean Mannion is Philadelphia's fifth offensive coordinator in as many years, and with the team seeing a number of significant offensive changes ahead of the 2026 season, there could be an emphasis on more frequently utilizing Hurts' legs after his 421 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns in 2025 both represented five-year lows. Hurts is RotoBaller's QB6 and can usually be drafted at the end of a tier of quarterbacks with legitimate week-winning upside.

Jalen Hurts Gaining Chemistry With New Receiver

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has developed some nice chemistry in training camp this summer with new wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks, who has emerged as the team's WR2 behind DeVonta Smith, according to Geoff Mosher of Philly Voice. Wicks has had an impressive start to camp as the Eagles' offense looks to bounce back and adjust to life without Pro Bowler A.J. Brown, who was traded to the New England Patriots in the offseason. Smith and rookie Makai Lemon have been sidelined lately with a hamstring injury, too, which has allowed Wicks to get even more looks from Hurts. "Just the work off the field, the talking, the connections off the field that build up to connections on the field and chemistry," Wicks said when asked about his chemistry with his new QB. "Getting together off the field, like we did in the summer, that also built up for now, and will build up for the season." Wicks already had familiarity with Eagles' new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion from his time in Green Bay, and now that he's been standing out in camp, he's been a riser on fantasy football draft boards. The Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski recently wrote that it's "reasonable to assume" that Lemon won't be ready for a starting role to open his rookie season in 2026.

Darius Cooper Receives Praise From Eagles QB

In an interview with NFL Network's Mike Garafolo and Brian Baldinger, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts named second-year receiver Darius Cooper as a player who has emerged in camp. Hurts said, "I think Darius Cooper has done a really good job. He's always been a big-bodied, physical, strong-hands guy. But just to see how he's transitioned going into Year 2, I'm definitely excited for him." Cooper hauled in just nine of 11 targets for 92 yards in 13 games as a rookie, which ranked fourth among Eagles receivers last season, despite being an undrafted rookie. Now with two of the top three receivers from last season gone (A.J. Brown and Jahan Dotson), Cooper has a chance to translate his solid practice play to the field in 2026. While he's off the fantasy radar for now, a strong preseason or additional injuries to the Eagles' wide receiver room could make Cooper a player to watch in 2026.

Jalen Hurts Still Looking for Consistency in New-Look Offense

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts did not throw a touchdown during competitive portions of the team's first four training camp practices, but after his best session of the summer on Monday, he had a chance to string together positive days, even with several key pieces missing from the Eagles' offense on Tuesday. Unfortunately, the unit turned in another sloppy outing that NBC Sports Philadelphia's Dave Zangaro called "a tough one to watch." The Eagles were without right tackle Lane Johnson and two of their top receivers, DeVonta Smith and Makai Lemon, on a day that was marred by pre-snap penalties and never saw the offense capitalize on the momentum established during the first day in pads. Some growing pains are to be expected with Sean Mannion taking over as the fifth offensive coordinator in as many seasons and Hurts working with a revamped group of pass catchers, but drafters will still want to see some positive strides to justify his current ADP of QB6.

Jalen Hurts has Safe Floor and League-Winning Potential at Modest Discount

When veterans and rookies report for Philadelphia Eagles training camp at the end of the month, it will be quarterback Jalen Hurts' first extended opportunity to build chemistry with his new receiving corps. In trading away three-time Pro Bowler A.J. Brown, the Eagles are relying on a number of new faces to fill the ranks alongside incumbents DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert in an effort to rebound from a shaky 2025 offensive outing. Veterans Dontayvion Wicks and Hollywood Brown join rookies Makai Lemon and Eli Stowers in what could be a more balanced passing attack that allows Hurts to spread the ball around. Regardless of any criticism he's faced in recent years, Hurts has never failed to deliver for fantasy, finishing as the QB9 or better in each of the past five seasons despite playing under four different offensive coordinators in that span. Hurts is RotoBaller's QB6 in 2026, but in a year where so many different quarterbacks elicit strong reactions from the fantasy community, he has been seen regularly slipping into the later rounds of drafts, making him a near can't-miss pick with one of the safest floors at the position.

Jalen Hurts Still Boasts League-Winning Upside in 2026

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has played with a different offensive coordinator in each of the past four seasons, and in that time he has not finished below QB8 despite playing only one full 17-game slate. With the team set to trot out its fifth playcaller in as many years, Hurts could see new parts of his game unlocked under first-time coordinator Sean Mannion. The expectation is that the seventh-year quarterback will operate more from under center, opening up the potential for more play-action passing and bootleg runs. While the loss of three-time Pro Bowler A.J. Brown undoubtedly makes the offense worse on paper, there are reportedly some within the building who believe the unit will run smoother without him, and the team did an admirable job of retooling the position on the fly, adding Hollywood Brown and Dontayvion Wicks through free agency and trade before spending a first-round pick on difference-making slot receiver Makai Lemon. After an aggressive 2025 campaign to ban the tush push fell two votes short of passing, the subject was not broached in this year's owners' meeting, and while Hurts' rushing touchdowns fell below double digits last season for the first time since his rookie year, he remains one of the most likely quarterbacks to lead the position in goal-line scores. At RotoBaller's QB6, Hurts still boasts top-five upside at a modest discount.

Could 2026 Be Jalen Hurts' Final Season in Philadelphia?

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts enters the 2026 season with his fifth offensive coordinator in as many seasons. When it's worked out, as with Kellen Moore and Shane Steichen, the Eagles have played for Super Bowls, and Hurts has been an MVP contender. When it goes south, as was the case last season with Kevin Patullo, fingers are quick to be pointed, and there are reportedly some in the building who lay responsibility for the team's offensive struggles in 2025 at the feet of Hurts. The former second-round pick has three years remaining on his current deal, with $22 million guaranteed for 2027, but one needs to look no further back than 2020 for an example of the team moving on from a quarterback shortly after agreeing to a big-money extension. In that situation, it was Hurts taking the starting job from Carson Wentz before the former second overall pick was traded away with three years remaining on his second contract. By all accounts, Hurts has been receptive to the constant change around him, but if Philadelphia's offensive struggles continue under new coordinator Sean Mannion, the next change could very well include him.

Jalen Hurts Could Face Regression After Loss of Top Pass Catcher

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has finished as the fantasy QB3, QB2, QB8, and QB8 over four seasons played with A.J. Brown as his number one wideout. While 10 rushing touchdowns and a career-high 784 yards on the ground resulted in a QB9 finish in his last season without Brown, it's undeniable that his best football has been played with the 6'1", 226-pound three-time Pro Bowler on the outside. With Brown being dealt to the Patriots on Monday, Hurts will be tasked with running a new-look offense under his fifth offensive coordinator in as many seasons. In the four games that Hurts has played without Brown since 2022, he's averaged 19.7 fantasy points per game, which, while still impressive, is notably lower than the 23.0 points scored in games played together. With the Brown trade having been in the works for months, the Eagles prepared for this moment by adding Hollywood Brown, Dontayvion Wicks, and 2026 draft picks Makai Lemon and Eli Stowers, so the cupboard is by no means bare. With Philadelphia featuring one of the league's run-heaviest offenses and Hurts already accumulating many of his fantasy points with his legs, he is in a unique position to better absorb the loss of his number one receiver than most would be. Heading into his age-28 season, Hurts sits at QB7 in RotoBaller's dynasty rankings.

Can Jalen Hurts Bounce Back as a Rusher in 2026?

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts turned in another strong statistical season in 2025, throwing for 3,224 yards and 25 touchdowns while adding another 454 yards and eight scores as a rusher. Still, Hurts shouldered significant criticism for the Eagles' overall struggles as an offense and is under pressure to up his game in 2026. Philadelphia will have a new play-caller in Sean Mannion and added pass-catching talent in the 2026 NFL Draft in first-round wideout Makai Lemon and second-round tight end Eli Stowers, all of which should help Hurts. However, Hurts' best asset in fantasy has always been his rushing production. While the 27-year-old still added value with his legs in 2025, it was his first season without at least 600 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns since his rookie year in 2020. If Hurts' rushing production continues to decline, his fantasy value could be in major trouble.
