Jalen Hurts News
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts finished as a top-10 fantasy QB in 2021 despite an uneven performance, and it's not far-fetched to think that he can finish as a top-five fantasy QB in 2022 now that wide receiver A.J. Brown is on the team. Hurts thinks he'll benefit from having the same offensive scheme and play-caller for the first time since high school, and the Eagles should pass the ball more and run more plays than they did last year. The 23-year-old's rushing prowess gives him a high fantasy ceiling and a high floor, and his numbers should improve in his second full season as the starter as long as he can avoid injuries.
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle), who had offseason surgery on his left ankle, said he is healthy at organized team activities. Hurts battled through his ankle injury late last season, but he should be past it by the time the regular season starts this fall. In his second season and first as the full-time starter for the Eagles, he threw for 3,144 yards, 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions on 432 attempts while leading the league in carries (139), rushing yards (784) and touchdowns (10). Now that the 23-year-old has wide receiver A.J. Brown as his new No. 1 wideout, Hurts' fantasy upside as a QB1 has increased significantly. He'll also be in the same system for the second season, so Hurts' stock is certainly on the rise.
In his introductory news conference on Monday, new Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown offered some insight into how his trade from Tennessee materialized. According to Brown, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts put a "bug in [the Eagles'] ear" leading up to the draft and lobbied for both the team and Brown to make a deal. During an on-field workout together, Hurts toldBrown that he was working to have Philadelphia acquire him. Hurts and Brown have been friends since Hurts attempted to recruit Brown in high school to choose Alabama. While that did not work out, the relationship obviously paid dividends down the road. The 24-year-oldBrown had 63 catches for 869 yards and five touchdowns in 13 games last year. It was a down year due to a chest injury and overall offensive struggles in Tennessee, but Brown has proven to be an elite weapon in his first three years in the league. His status as an elite fantasy asset remains a question as he joins yet another run-heavy scheme and now has to compete for targets with 2021 first-round wide receiver DeVonta Smith and tight end Dallas Goedert.

Jalen Hurts started and finished just three games as a rookie in 2020, but it was enough of a sample size to showcase his ability as a runner. He averaged 79.3 yards on 12.7 rushing attempts per game in those three games. He also threw for 282.3...
