Cornerback Javelin Guidry (knee) was waived by the Jets. The 25-year-old injured his knee during a joint practice with Tampa Bay on Wednesday and is expected to require surgery. Guidry has appeared in 28 games for New York since 2020, totaling 70 tackles. However, he was cut by the team in August of 2022 and bounced around the league before he was claimed by the Jets in May. That said, as unfortunate as any injury is, Guidry wasn't predicted to contribute anything for IDP managers, although the transaction clears a roster spot for Dalvin Cook.
New York Jets defensive back Javelin Guidry (knee) was hurt during joint practice on Wednesday. The expectation is that the 25-year-old is going to require knee surgery. That being said, Guidry is likely to land on the injured reserve, which would end his season. It's a shame considering Guidry was putting together a solid training camp. Guidry was a decent contributor for the Jets in 2021. The hope was that he could at least be a rotational player, but now he's likely not going to play at all in 2023.
