The New Orleans Saints are planning on activating fullback John Kuhn (biceps) from Injured Reserve on Wednesday, according to a source. That would make Kuhn eligible to play in the playoffs. Kuhn could play after practicing for two weeks, which means the soonest he could play is in the divisional round. Fullback Zach Line has handled the role effectively in Kuhn's absence, so there's no guarantee Kuhn would actually play in the postseason. While Kuhn's activation may not mean much in the grand scheme of things in the playoffs, it can't hurt for a team that is already one of the strongest on the ground in the NFL.
New Orleans fullback John Kuhn won't be with the team heading into Week 3. The Saints are parting ways with the multi-purpose back in order to clear roster space for defensive lineman Kendall Langford, who was signed on Thursday. Kuhn has only seen 12 snaps in the first two games of the season. It's possible he rejoins the team as some point, as he's already been let go and re-signed once this offseason. Kuhn has practically no fantasy value regardless of team situation.
New Orleans Saints fullback John Kuhn was a surprise cut by the team on Sunday, but it appears likely he will be back with the team soon enough. The team added a pair of waiver claims and needed to create roster space, but will probably bring back the veteran in the coming days. Kuhn could be busy doing more run-blocking than usual if the Saints feed the ball to their tandem of Mark Ingram and Adrian Peterson as promised. Kuhn himself carries no fantasy value, as his usage on offense is sporadic and unpredictable.
New Orleans Saints fullback John Kuhn is best known for his nine-year tenure as a Packer, but he enters 2017 in his second season as a Saint. Kuhn may have to shift his mindset a bit as the team promises to run the ball more with the addition of Adrian Peterson and rookie Alvin Kamara joining Mark Ingram. Kuhn himself only carried the ball 18 times for 37 yards last year, but found the end zone on four occasions, vulturing touchdowns on the goal-line. That may happen less frequently this year. Kuhn will be ready when called up, however, and has incorporated yoga into his offseason workout routine, along with other teammates. Kuhn doesn't carry any fantasy appeal other than as a DFS punt play on heavy bye weeks.
