Jordan Cameron Leaves Game Early with Concussion, Dion Sims Becomes Starting TE
Tight end Jordan Cameron left the second quarter of Miami's game Sunday afternoon with a concussion and did not return. He recorded one catch for five yards, giving him eight catches for 60 yards on the season. Cameron suffered three concussions in his first four seasons with Cleveland, putting his immediate recovery in doubt. He will go through the NFL concussion protocol and be re-evaluated later in the week. Dion Sims replaces Cameron as the starter, but has little fantasy value.
Jordan Cameron Finds End Zone, May Have Hope After All
Jordan Cameron had rarely been targeted all preseason and only saw three in Week 1, resulting in six yards. He made an appearance in the end zone this Sunday, however, as he pulled down five catches for 49 yards. The Dolphins were forced to pass more than they'd like, but it was still a positive sign to see Cameron's involvement in the offense. He still can't be trusted in fantasy, as this game may have been an aberration. Leave him on waivers unless you're desperate for a backup TE.
Jordan Cameron To Have Larger Role on Offense Under Adam Gase
Jordan Cameron is expected to have a larger role in new head coach Adam Gase's offense this year. Cameron, a big money free agent addition last offseason, was underused in 2015. Gase has gotten good production out of his tight ends wherever he's coached, with Julius Thomas in Denver and Martellus Bennett/Zach Miller in Chicago. The only caveat here is there are going to be a lot of mouths to feed in Miami and we aren't entirely sure quarterback Ryan Tannehill is capable of taking advantage of all the weapons at his disposal. Either way, Cameron should be more useful than he was last season.
