Las Vegas Raiders linebacker Jordan Jenkins (knee) will miss the entire season after suffering an injury this weekend. The 28-year-old appears to have torn his ACL during their preseason matchup against the Miami Dolphins. The former third round pick was expected to be depth, but this is still a blow to their defense. Last season, Jenkins recorded 20 tackles and 2.5 sacks through 11 games with the Houston Texans. Before that, Jenkins was a starter on the New York Jets for five seasons. Fantasy manages shouldn't expect the loss of Jenkins to impact the Raiders defense very much.
New York Jets pass-rusher Jordan Jenkins (shoulder) is having surgery to fix a torn labrum and dislocated shoulder on Tuesday, according to a source. Jenkins suffered the injury in Week 3 and had been playing through it. The 26-year-old former third-round pick in 2016 signed a one-year deal with Gang Green and was the team's sack leader in 2019 with eight. In 12 games this year, Jenkins had 32 total tackles, six QB hits, two sacks, a pass defensed and a forced fumble. He will hit free agency after this year with 17 sacks in the last three seasons. The Jets Defense hasn't been fantasy relevant all season long and will continue to be off the radar in Week 15 against the Rams.
The New York Jets are re-signing linebacker Jordan Jenkins to a one-year, $5 million deal on Monday, according to a source. Jenkins led the team in sacks last year with a career-high eight in 14 games (13 starts) for Gang Green while also recording 32 tackles (21 solo), nine tackles for loss, 13 QB hits, three passes defensed and two forced fumbles. The 25-year-old has 15 sacks in the last two seasons in New York, but he just doesn't rack up enough tackles as an outside linebacker to be of use in IDP leagues. Jenkins' career high in combined tackles was 49 back in 2017.
