JuJu Smith-Schuster Released by Giants

The New York Giants released wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster on Tuesday to clear a roster spot for running back Najee Harris. Smith-Schuster signed with New York on June 2, but his stay lasted less than three months. He had been dealing with knee swelling during camp, and head coach John Harbaugh said last week that the Giants knew they would have to manage the veteran's knee. Smith-Schuster played all 17 games for Kansas City in 2025, starting 12 and finishing with 33 catches for 345 yards and one touchdown. New York had a crowded receiver competition all summer, with Odell Beckham Jr., Braxton Berrios and rookie Malachi Fields among the players fighting for work. Smith-Schuster did make some plays in camp, but his time with the Giants is over before cutdown day. He now hits the market again with a few weeks left before the regular season and will look for another opportunity elsewhere.

JuJu Smith-Schuster Returns to Practice on Wednesday

After missing Tuesday's practice due to knee swelling, New York Giants wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee) returned and participated on Wednesday. Smith-Schuster reportedly made the catch of the day in practice, hauling in a touchdown pass from backup quarterback Jameis Winston in tight coverage at the back of the end zone. The veteran receiver was signed by the team after trying out in June and has worked with the second team for most of camp. He has had recent stints with the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs, though he didn't contribute in fantasy leagues in any of those seasons. With him fighting for a roster spot in camp, Smith-Schuster is off the radar in fantasy formats this season.

JuJu Smith-Schuster Held Out of Practice on Tuesday

New York Giants wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee) did not participate in Tuesday's practice with a knee issue. Head coach John Harbaugh said Smith-Schuster's injury is not expected to be long-term and that he is dealing with some swelling. Smith-Schuster, entering his 10th NFL season, is coming off a season in which he had 33 receptions for 345 yards and one touchdown. He is competing with multiple receivers on the Giants roster, including Odell Beckham Jr., Braxton Berrios, and others. The veteran receiver hopes this knee issue is resolved soon, as any missed practice or preseason time could be detrimental to his chances of making the roster.

Giants Adding JuJu Smith-Schuster on a One-Year Deal

The New York Giants have agreed to terms with wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster on a one-year deal after he took part in a Monday morning workout with the team. Veterans Odell Beckham Jr. and Braxton Berrios were part of the same workout that has now reportedly resulted in contracts for all three. With the status of 2024 first-round pick Malik Nabers unclear for the start of the season after missing 13 games in 2025 with a serious knee injury, the Giants have added an influx of depth to the position after signing Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin III earlier in the offseason and spending a third-round pick on Malachi Fields. Smith-Schuster will reunite with offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, who held the same position during the former Pro Bowler's second stint with the Chiefs, in which he caught 51 passes for 576 yards and three touchdowns across 31 games.

Giants Working Out JuJu Smith-Schuster and Braxton Berrios in Addition to Odell Beckham Jr.

The New York Giants are working out free agent wide receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster and Braxton Berrios on Monday, along with former Giant Odell Beckham Jr. Smith-Schuster, a veteran of nine seasons, has ties to new Giants offensive coordinator Matt Nagy from their time together in Kansas City, while Berrios has been limited to only 10 games across his last two seasons with the Dolphins and Texans, recording six receptions over that time while the bulk of his contributions came on special teams. Beckham last played for the Dolphins in 2024, but was the Giants' first-round pick in 2014 and averaged 92.8 receiving yards across his five seasons with the team. With 2024 first-round pick Malik Nabers still recovering from the knee injury that ended his second season after only four games, the Giants are doing their due diligence to find receiver depth should he be unable to suit up by the start of the season.

JuJu Smith-Schuster's Role Diminishing as Teammates Excel

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster has fallen off the fantasy radar after three lower-volume outings. The veteran receiver saw his snap share fall from 63 percent to 36 percent when Rashee Rice returned from suspension in Week 7, and he's been held to fewer than one-third of the snaps ever since then. During that three-week span, he had six total catches, bottoming out last week with just one target, one catch, and two receiving yards. The 28-year-old now finds himself behind Rice, Travis Kelce, Xavier Worthy, and Marquise Brown in the pecking order. As long as those pass catchers stay healthy, Smith-Schuster will remain off the fantasy radar on the other side of the Chiefs' Week 10 bye.

Juju Smith-Schuster Continues Taking a Back Seat

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster has seen his role in the offense decrease over the last few weeks. Smith-Schuster was playing over 60 percent of the offensive snaps through the first six games of the season. However, Smith-Schuster has taken a backseat with the return of Rashee Rice. The 28-year-old has fallen to fourth on the depth chart where there isn't as much action for him. Smith-Schuster has been held to five receptions for 64 yards and zero touchdowns over the last two games. His role in the offense figures to be minimal going forward with the Chiefs offense healthy again.

JuJu Smith-Schuster Set for Final Start Before Rashee Rice's Return

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster could be entering his final week of fantasy relevance. Through five games, the veteran has caught 16 of 21 targets for 168 yards and a touchdown, primarily operating out of the slot. Smith-Schuster has been a steady part of the Chiefs' passing attack, logging 74% of snaps and routes, but that role is likely to diminish soon. With Rashee Rice set to return from suspension in Week 7, Smith-Schuster's playing time and target share could take a significant hit. For Week 6, however, he draws a favorable matchup against a Lions defense that's allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to wide receivers this season. Smith-Schuster carries deep-league FLEX appeal in what could be his final start-worthy week for Kansas City.

JuJu Smith-Schuster In Line for Consistent Targets in Kansas City?

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster finished second on the team in targets (five) in Week 1, hauling in five catches for 55 yards. With top Chiefs wideouts Xavier Worthy (shoulder) and Rashee Rice (suspension) both currently sidelined, Smith-Schuster could be a consistent feature in the team's passing game over the next few weeks. While the 28-year-old is not an explosive player, he has shown an ability to be a reliable short-area target, particularly when playing next to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Because of his projectable floor as a target earner, Smith-Schuster could be a useful bench receiver in deep PPR-leagues while Kansas City is battling wide receiver injuries

JuJu Smith-Schuster Returning To Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster has signed a new deal to remain with the organization. Smith-Schuster returns on a one-year deal for an undisclosed amount of money. The former second-round pick was decent as a depth option for the Chiefs last season. He hauled in 18 receptions for 231 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games (eight starts) with the Chiefs last season. The expectation is that Smith-Schuster will slide somewhere behind Xavier Worthy, Marquise Brown, and Rashee Rice (knee) once he's healthy enough to play. It's tough to imagine Smith-Schuster being a fantasy relevant player on a weekly basis.
