The Las Vegas Raiders signed free-agent linebacker Kyler Fackrell to an undisclosed one-year deal on Monday, according to a source. Fackrell spent the 2021 campaign with the Los Angeles Chargers, totaling only 17 tackles (11 solo), four tackles for loss, four QB hits, three sacks and a fumble recovery in 13 games (one start). He had a career-high 10.5 sacks with the Green Bay Packers in 2018 and recorded four sacks in nine starts for the New York Giants in 2020. The 30-year-old will likely continue to play a rotational pass-rushing role for the Raiders alongside Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones. Fackrell won't be worth looking at in IDP leagues.
The Los Angeles Chargers agreed to terms with free-agent outside linebacker Kyler Fackrell on an undisclosed deal on Wednesday. Fackrell started in nine games for the New York Giants last season. The 29-year-old recorded 34 tackles, four sacks and an interception returned for a touchdown in his 12 total games. Fackrell entered the league as a third-round pick by the Green Bay Packers in 2016. He has appeared in 73 games (18 starts) and has posted 127 tackles (88 solo), 20.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and two interceptions in his career. Fackrell set a single-season high in 2018 when he recorded 10.5 sacks.
Giants Defense Places Kyle Fackrell On Injured Reserve
The New York Giants placed starting outside linebacker Kyle Fackrell (calf) on Injured Reserve on Tuesday with a calf injury. Fackrell will miss at least the next three games, leaving the Giants very short-handed at the position. He was tied for second on the team with three sacks and was playing close to 100 percent of the defensive snaps before suffering the injury in the Week 12 win over the Bengals. No outside linebacker on the active roster has more than one sack this year. Linebackers Lorenzo Carter and Oshane Ximines are also on IR. Jamaal Sheard and rookies Carter Coughlin and Cam Brown could start in Week 13 against the Seahawks, making the New York defense one to avoid for fantasy managers after they were a popular streaming defense against Cincy.
