Kansas City Chiefs tight end Matt Bushman has been impressing the coaching staff early in training camp. "The guy doesn't drop the ball," offensive coordinator Matt Nagy said. "He's always in the right spot at the right time." Bushman looks faster and more confident in the offensive scheme after spending last year on the practice squad. A stellar preseason from Bushman could lead to him earning a roster spot heading into the regular season. The 27-year-old hasn't appeared in an NFL game yet, but that could happen in 2023 if he makes the roster and serves as depth at the position behind All-Pro Travis Kelce, Noah Gray, Jody Fortson and Blake Bell.

The 26-year-old was on a roll before the injury, catching three balls for 73 yards and two touchdowns. Bushman, who is currently buried on the depth chart, isn't a lock to make the regular season roster. However, after his strong performance, anything is possible, assuming the shoulder injury isn't severe.
