Free-agent safety Micah Hyde said he will either re-sign with the Buffalo Bills or choose retirement. Hyde has played in just 16 total games the last two years in Buffalo due to injuries, although he managed to play in 14 regular-season games in 2023 and recorded 54 tackles (37 solo), two interceptions and seven passes defended. The 33-year-old has been with the Bills since 2017 after spending the first four years of his career with the Green Bay Packers. The Packers took him in the fifth round in 2013 out of Iowa. Hyde's lone Pro Bowl season came in his first year in Buffalo, when he recorded a career-high 82 tackles (65 solo), a career-high-tying five interceptions, and a career-high 13 passes defended in 16 starts. If he returns to Buffalo and plays one more season, he'll bring a veteran presence to the Bills' secondary.
Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane recently said that the organization is open to bringing back safety Micah Hyde. The 33-year-old is currently a free agent but has spent the last seven seasons in Buffalo. Last season, Hyde recorded 54 tackles and two interceptions while earning a PFF coverage grade of 67.2. He's not in his prime anymore, but Hyde can still contribute to an NFL roster. Hyde is currently a free agent and eligible to sign wherever, but it seems plausible that he'd want to continue his career in Buffalo. Otherwise, Taylor Rapp and Mike Edwards figure to be the primary safety options next season.
Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said that safety Micah Hyde (neck) has been ruled out for the Week 16 contest on Saturday against the Los Angeles Chargers. Meanwhile, defensive tackle Jordan Phillips (wrist) has been placed on Injured Reserve. It's two pretty big injury blows to a Bills defense that has been playing much better of late. Given their excellent matchup against the floundering Los Angeles Chargers, the Bills defense/special teams unit is still a very strong play in fantasy lineups this weekend. Hyde is recovering from a neck stinger that he suffered in Week 14 and will miss his second straight game as a result. It remains to be seen if the 32-year-old defensive back will be ready to return on New Years Eve in Week 17 to face the New England Patriots.
Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde (neck) and defensive end A.J. Epenesa (ribs) remain week-to-week and have been ruled out for the Week 15 game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Head coach Sean McDermott said it's a "flexible situation" as to whether they would need to go on Injured Reserve. Hyde is the more likely candidate for IR, but the team needs more information and are taking it day-to-day with both players. Hyde suffered a neck stinger in the Week 14 win over the Kansas City Chiefs and may be forced to miss the remainder of the regular season. Epenesa will miss his first game of the year and also could be out the rest of the way. The loss of both defenders is very notable for Buffalo's defensive unit heading into an extremely tough matchup this Sunday against the visiting Dallas Cowboys.
Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde (neck) is considered week-to-week with a neck injury, according to head coach Sean McDermott. The veteran defensive back suffered the injury in the Week 14 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, and his status is in doubt for an important matchup with the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Dak Prescott and the Cowboys passing offense is on fire, so Hyde's potential absence from the lineup could be a significant development. Damar Hamlin or Taylor Rapp is next on the Bills' depth chart.
Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde (stinger) is questionable to return to Sunday's AFC clash with the Kansas City Chiefs. The veteran had taken a beating throughout the contest, although the latest injury could be enough to keep him out for the remainder of the game. Hyde is one of the Bills' top options on the defensive end, entering Week 14 with two picks and two passes defensed, so they'll need him out there, considering Buffalo desperately needs a victory.
Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde (neck) has been ruled out for the upcoming Week 10 matchup versus the Denver Broncos. The veteran safety took a nasty hit last week, which forced him out of the game. He was unable to practice this week and this could be something that sidelines him for multiple games. Taylor Rapp took over for Hyde last week, so the assumption is that he'll likely start in his place in Week 10. The loss of Hyde does hurt as he has been playing fairly well early this season. He has 37 tackles, five passes defended, and two interceptions in nine games. The Bills secondary is certainly going to take a hit without Hyde available for this game.
Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde (hamstring) is questionable to return against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2. Given Buffalo's sizable lead, it would be a bit surprising to see him check back in on Sunday. Cam Lewis will likely see more snaps until Hyde can return.
Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott has ruled out safety Micah Hyde (neck) and defensive tackle Jordan Phillips (hamstring) for the Week 3 divisional showdown against the Miami Dolphins. With star safety Jordan Poyer (foot) also up in the air to play this weekend, Buffalo's secondary could be vulnerable against a Dolphins offense that just put up over 40 points against the Baltimore Ravens. Backup safeties Jaquan Johnson and Damar Hamlin could be forced into starting roles if Poyer ends up missing the game as well. The Bills defense should still be started in all fantasy leagues, but it's worth noting that their secondary won't be at full strength for this one.
Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde (hip, glute) suffered an injury in Friday's training camp practice, according to the team. Hyde is still being evaluated, but the injury is considered relatively minor. Head coach Sean McDermott labeled Hyde day-to-day on Saturday, so hopefully he won't be out of practice for too long. The 31-year-old was carted to the locker room on Friday, but thankfully it didn't turn out to be too serious. This early in training camp, the Bills will take it easy on Hyde, who is an important part of their secondary. In 17 regular season starts in 2021, he had 74 tackles (53 solo), four tackles for loss, a career-high-tying five interceptions (one for a touchdown), 10 passes defensed, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and one sack.
