Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Nelson Agholor is set to run it back with the organization next season. The veteran wideout agreed on a one-year extension with the Ravens on Sunday. If not re-signed by Monday, Agholor was set to become a free agent this offseason. However, the Ravens have decided to bring back Agholor after a solid first season in Baltimore. The 30-year-old hauled in 35 receptions for 381 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 17 games. He should remain a useful option in this passing attack next season.
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Nelson Agholor is bound to see the most work of the season in Week 18 compared to every other game he's played in this year. Odell Beckham Jr. is getting some rest while Zay Flowers (calf) is doubtful to play as well. So, Agholor and Rashod Bateman enter their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers as the top two receiving options, especially since it's unknown how long Isaiah Likely will be in the game. Agholor has scored more than Bateman this season with four touchdowns compared to his one. That was with Lamar Jackson behind center, so the results with Tyler Huntley could be different. Against a Steelers team that's fighting for their playoff hopes, Agholor is better left on fantasy benches.
Nelson Agholor Surprises With Big Game Against Bengals
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Nelson Agholor delivered his best fantasy performance since Week 12 of last season. The 30-year-old registered 63 yards while catching five of his six targets. On the depth chart, he's the fourth receiver, and he's even lower on the pecking order when throwing Mark Andrews in the mix. This big performance isn't a sustainable value and he shouldn't be on the fantasy radar except for the deepest leagues. Agholor is better left on the waiver wire heading into Week 3 against the Indianapolis Colts.
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Nelson Agholor caught just 31 passes for 362 yards and two touchdowns last season with the New England Patriots, but his speed is still in his skill set and he could be a contributor in the new-look Ravens' offense this year. "Agholor took advantage of the reps with Lamar Jackson. He caught several deep passes, & he and Jackson were on the same page on a number of back-shoulder throws," said Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. "If he's a weekly contributor, that would go a long way toward strengthening the WR corps. He's off to a good start" Agholor isn't on the fantasy radar since he's expected to start the season behind Odell Beckham Jr., Rashod Bateman, and Zay Flowers, but he could be thrust into a meaningful role if any of those wideouts get banged up. Either way, he won't be a consistent producer and his only value is likely in ultra-deep best ball leagues.
The Baltimore Ravens agreed to a one-year, $3.25 million deal with free-agent wide receiver Nelson Agholor on Friday, according to a source. Agholor will have another $3 million available in incentives as part of the deal. A first-round pick back in 2015, Agholor has underwhelmed in his eight NFL seasons and has yet to reach the 1,000-yard mark heading into 2023. That's unlikely to happen in Baltimore, even if quarterback Lamar Jackson sticks around, although he should have a bigger role than what he saw in 2022 with the New England Patriots, when he caught 31 of his 53 targets for just 362 yards and two touchdowns in 16 games (seven starts). As of right now, the 29-year-old profiles as the No. 2 behind Rashod Bateman, but the Ravens could also add receiving talent through the upcoming draft.
The Baltimore Ravens hosted free-agent wide receiver Nelson Agholor on a visit. Baltimore's search for more receiving help continues. As things currently stand, Rashod Bateman, Devin Duvernay and James Proche II are their top three wideouts, so the Ravens will certainly add to the position via free agency and/or the upcoming draft in April. Agholor, the former first-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015, spent the last two years with the New England Patriots, where he caught 68 of his 117 targets for 835 yards and five touchdowns in 31 games (20 starts). The 29-year-old had only 31 receptions for 362 yards and two scores in 16 games (seven starts) in 2022. A change of scenery to Baltimore would make Agholor slightly more attractive in deeper fantasy leagues, depending on who else the Ravens add at the position.
New England Patriots wide receiver Nelson Agholor was barely involved in the 23-21 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 17 on Sunday. Agholor played just 27 offensive snaps and failed to catch his only target, leaving his fantasy managers with a fat donut. It was the second straight week that he failed to log a catch after not being targeted at all in Week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals while playing only 19 offensive snaps. Rookie Tyquan Thornton led the team with three receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown on Sunday, and he continues to be a bigger part of the offense down the stretch with DeVante Parker still in the league's concussion protocol. Fantasy managers should stay far away from Agholor in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Buffalo Bills, even if Parker misses another game.
New England Patriots wide receiver Nelson Agholor wasn't targeted in the Week 16 loss to the Bengals. He logged just 19 of 56 possible snaps and took a backseat to Jakobi Meyers, Tyquan Thornton, and Kendrick Bourne last Saturday. The 29-year-old was targeted 16 times in the previous two weeks before being shut out against the Bengals. Agholor will look to rebound against the Dolphins in Week 17. The former Las Vegas Raider will compete with Meyers, Thornton, and Bourne for targets in New England's passing game as defacto WR1 DeVante Parker (concussion) has yet to practice this week. Fantasy managers can avoid using Agholor even if Parker is out in Week 17, as he is buried on New England's wide receiver depth chart and not on the fantasy radar.
Nelson Agholor Should See An Uptick In Targets In Week 16
New England Patriots wide receiver Nelson Agholor should have an expanded role with DeVante Parker (concussion) ruled out in Saturday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Pats are banged up at the wide receiver position. In addition to Parker, Tyquan Thorton (knee) and Jakobi Meyers (shoulder) are also questionable for the Christmas Eve game. After seeing 10 targets in Week 14, the 29-year-old caught one of his six targets for three yards in last Sunday's loss to the Raiders. Agholor should see a decent amount of targets, but New England's offense continues to sputter this season, making the former Raider a boom-or-bust flex against the Bengals in Week 16.
Nelson Agholor Targeted Six Times In Loss To Former Team
New England Patriots wide receiver Nelson Agholor caught one of six targets for three yards in Sunday's 30-24 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. The 29-year-old failed to capitalize on his expanded role with New England's top wideout DeVante Parker (concussion) ruled out in Week 15. However, he did tie Jakobi Meyers for the team lead with six targets but was only able to haul in one of them in Sunday's defeat. New England's offense struggled on Sunday as quarterback Mac Jones threw for just 112 yards despite the favorable matchup. The former Raider has seen at least six targets in three of the last four weeks. Agholor is a boom-or-bust flex against the Bengals in Week 16.
