The Los Angeles Chargers have agreed to a one-year deal with defensive end Nick Williams. The 33-year-old has bounced around in the league since being drafted in the seventh round in 2013 by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Williams played with the New York Giants last season, but managed to only play in eight games due to a biceps injury. He has 125 tackles and 7.5 sacks through his eight year career. It's a nice depth signing to get some veteran leadership on the defensive line for Los Angeles.
The New York Giants have signed defensive lineman Nick Williams on the day that they report for the start of training camp. The veteran was most recently with the Detroit Lions and started in 17 games for the team during the 2021 season. The 6-foot-4, 310-pound Williams recorded 27 tackles (14 solo) with 0.5 sacks and two quarterback hits last season. To make room for the 32-year-old, the Giants released Jabari Ellis, who they signed as an undrafted free agent back in May.
