Riley Reiff Agrees With Bears

Former Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Riley Reiff agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $12.5 million with the Chicago Bears on Tuesday, according to a source. Reiff is likely to earn at least $10 million. The 33-year-old veteran played in 12 games for the Bengals in 2021 but suffered an ankle injury in Week 14 and wasn't available for the team's run to the Super Bowl. When healthy, he'll give the Bears some offensive line depth for the 2022 season. Reiff was originally a first-round pick in 2012 by the Detroit Lions out of the University of Iowa. He spent his first five years in the NFL in Detroit before heading to the Minnesota Vikings from 2017-20.

Riley Reiff Visiting With Jets

Free-agent offensive tackle Riley Reiff, the former Detroit Lions first-rounder in 2013 who spent last year with the Cincinnati Bengals, is visiting with the New York Jets on Thursday, according to a source. COVID-19 and an ankle injury limited Reiff to a career-low 12 games in 2021 with the Bengals, but he's been pretty durable in his 10-year NFL career. He spent the first five seasons playing for the Lions before joining the Minnesota Vikings from 2017-20. The 33-year-old has been a solid run-blocker in his career and would give the Jets some valuable depth on the offensive line should he sign with them.

Riley Reiff To IR, Chidobe Awuzie On COVID-19 List

The Cincinnati Bengals placed right tackle Riley Reiff (ankle) on Injured Reserve and cornerback Chidobe Awuzie on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Thursday. Reiff, who was already doubtful to play in Week 15 against the Denver Broncos, will now miss at least the next three games. Awuzie is unlikely to play this Sunday, even if he's fully vaccinated. Reiff has been key on the right side of Cincy's offensive line, so his absence over the next three weeks is bad news for quarterback Joe Burrow. If Trae Waynes (hamstring) is unable to return from IR to play this weekend, the Bengals secondary will be extra vulnerable against the Broncos. Either way, Vernon Hargreaves should have a big role in Week 15.

Riley Reiff, Trey Hopkins Out For Week 13

The Cincinnati Bengals will be without right tackle Riley Reiff (ankle) and center Trey Hopkins (ankle) on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers. These are two key losses for the Bengals offensive line, which could impact running back Joe Mixon and the Bengals passing game, though the Chargers run defense is so bad that fantasy managers can go ahead and start Mixon as a high-end RB1, even with part of his offensive line missing.

Bengals Add Riley Reiff To Offensive Line

The Cincinnati Bengals signed free-agent offensive tackle Riley Reiff to an undisclosed deal on Friday, according to a source. The Bengals desperately needed to upgrade their offensive line in front of young quarterback Joe Burrow. Formerly of the Minnesota Vikings, Reiff has been a solid blocker sine he was drafted in the first round by the Detroit Lions in 2012. He has started 127 of 135 games in his career, mostly at left tackle. He allowed one sack and 21 total pressures last season, 18th-fewest among 59 qualifying tackles. Cincy's offensive line allowed 35 sacks and 215 QB pressures in 2020, so adding reinforcements like Reiff was necessary. The 32-year-old told reporters that he would play right tackle for his new team. It will allow the team to keep Jonah Williams at left tackle.

Vikings Release Left Tackle Riley Reiff

The Minnesota Vikings released veteran starting left tackle Riley Reiff on Wednesday. The nine-year professional played the last four seasons with the Vikings, starting all 15 games he played for the team in 2020. His release will save the team $11.75 million on the salary cap. The 32-year-old has played in 58 regular season games for Minnesota in the last four years, starting all of them at left tackle. The first-rounder in 2012 spent the first five seasons of his career with the Lions. Reiff has provided stability, toughness and leadership at left tackle for Minnesota's offensive line. He was a team captain with the Vikings in all four of his seasons. Ezra Cleveland could be a possibility to take over for Reiff, or the team could address the position in free agency or the draft.

Riley Reiff Suffers Foot Injury

Minnesota Vikings left tackle Riley Reiff (foot) suffered a foot injury in the Week 5 win over the Eagles. He also suffered a foot injury against the Bills a few weeks ago, and he played through it last week against the Rams on a short week. Minnesota's offense line is beat up and can't afford to lose quarterback Kirk Cousins' blind-side protector with Cardinals pass rusher Chandler Jones on the docket next.

Riley Reiff Misses Friday Practices Following Thursday Injury

Vikings' left tackle Riley Reiff missed a full day of work on Friday after being injured on Thursday. Reiff, who is slated to start following a major contract in the offseason, was carted off the field yesterday. Minnesota has not released information detailing the injury. Rashod Hill filled in with the first team during his absence. Reiff was a vital signing after the team cycled through five starting LT's last season, but it has not taken long for him to be bitten by the injury bug. Mike Zimmer did not that he does not believe the injury to be serious.
