Ryan Ramczyk Won't Play In 2024

New Orleans Saints offensive tackle Ryan Ramczyk (knee) won't be suiting up for his team during the new season. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Ramczyk is set to miss the entire season while recovering from a knee injury. The 30-year-old was placed on the Physically Unable to Peform list before training camp. The veteran tackle has missed 13 games over the last three seasons. This is a tough blow to the Saints offense, as Ramczyk is a key piece to their offensive line. Currently, Trevor Penning is listed as the second-string right tackle. However, the Saints will likely have a battle in camp for the vacant spot. Regardless of who wins it, the Saints are going to feel the loss of Ramczyk.

Ryan Ramczyk Expected To Be Ready For Training Camp

New Orleans Saints right tackle Ryan Ramczyk (knee) had a minor procedure on his knee after the season, according to head coach Dennis Allen. However, Ramczyk is expected to be ready for the start of training camp this summer, if not before that. The 29-year-old offensive lineman missed the team's last three games in 2023 and finished the year on Injured Reserve due to his knee injury. The All-Pro tackle was replaced on the right side of the line by Landon Young down the stretch. The former first-round pick by the Saints in 2017 out of Wisconsin managed to play in only 12 games last year, but he should be ready to enter the 2024 regular season as New Orleans' starting right tackle in what will be his eighth NFL campaign.

Ryan Ramczyk Could Be Easily Restructured

New Orleans Saints offensive tackle Ryan Ramczyk could easily have his contract restructured this offseason to save the team up to $50.8 million in salary cap space in 2022. His $5.27 million cap figure will jump to $23 million this year, and he's due $10.5 million in base salary and has an $8.74 million roster bonus. His roster bonus can be converted to a signing bonus and spread out to drop the figure to $1.75 million. Ramczyk's base salary could then be dropped to the league minimum of $1.035 million, with the remaining portion spread out over five years. The final cap number would be around $8.478 million. The 27-year-old played in only 10 games in 2021 due to a knee injury that required offseason surgery, but he was an All-Pro in 2019 and is a key piece of the Saints offensive line.

Ryan Ramczyk Undergoes Surgery

New Orleans Saints offensive tackle Ryan Ramczyk (knee) recently had offseason knee surgery aimed at cleaning out his knee and alleviating the issues he battled all season, according to a source. The surgery was described as a minor procedure. Barring any setbacks, the 27-year-old should be good to go for all offseason workouts. Because of his knee issues in the 2021 season, Ramczyk played in only 10 games for the Saints at right tackle. Ramczyk was a first-rounder in 2017 (32nd overall) and has been a fixture on the right side of the team's offensive line since Week 2 of his rookie season. The Saints offense suffered when both Ramczyk and left tackle Terron Armstead missed six games in November and December due to injuries, so they'll be hoping they can both stay healthy in 2022.

Ryan Ramczyk, Demario Davis Land On COVID-19 List

After placing nine players on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Thursday, the New Orleans Saints added offensive tackle Ryan Ramczyk, All-Pro linebacker Demario Davis, linebacker Dwayne Washington and safety J.T. Gray to the list on Friday. Davis currently leads all non-specialists in consecutive games played (158), but that's about to end in Week 16 unless he gets cleared by Monday night. He has 95 tackles, a team-high 13 tackles for loss and nine QB hits in 14 games this year, so the Saints defense will be missing a key weapon if he's out in Week 16. Ramczyk has missed the last five games with a knee injury, and tackle Terron Armstead (knee) has yet to practice this week, so the Saints could be without two of their best offensive lineman with rookie quarterback Ian Book making his first career start on Monday night.

Ryan Ramczyk Receives Big Five-Year Extension

The New Orleans Saints signed All-Pro right tackle Ryan Ramczyk to a five-year, $96 million contract extension on Wednesday, according to sources. Ramczyk will receive $19.2 million per season. The deal will take him through the 2026 season and will make him the new highest-paid right tackle in the league. The 27-year-old was an All-Pro in 2019 and has missed just one regular season game in 2018 in his four seasons with the Saints. New Orleans' offensive line is in good hands for the next five years on the right side, and Ramczyk will make life easier for whoever wins the quarterback job between Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill, not to mention running back Alvin Kamara.

Ryan Ramczyk Grades Out As Top Right Tackle

New Orleans Saints right tackle Ryan Ramczyk didn't allow a single sack in the regular season last year and was the highest-graded tackle overall among those with a minimum of 300 snaps, per Pro Football Focus. A first-round pick out of Wisconsin in 2017, Ramczyk was a first-team All-Pro in 2019 and has missed just one game in his three seasons in the NFL. The 26-year-old could be one of the best right tackles in the game for years to come as he enters the prime of his career. With left tackle Terron Armstead also at the top of his game, the Saints bookends on the offensive line are two of the best, which is a great asset for veteran quarterback Drew Brees.

Saints Round Out The First Round With Ryan Ramczyk

The New Orleans Saints selected Wisconsin offensive tackle Ryan Ramczyk with the No. 32 overall pick of the 2017 NFL draft. Ramczyk will likely be used as offensive line depth for New Orleans to start out. In a weak class of offensive linemen, Ramczyk stood out at the top, and he excels in both pass protection and run blocking. He profiles as a long-term left tackle in New Orleans.
