Ryan Succop News
The Tennessee Titans designated kicker Ryan Succop (knee), who was put on Injured Reserve before the season opener, to return from IR later this year. He'll be allowed to resume practicing with the team, but he won't be eligible to play until Week 9 against the Panthers. Cody Parkey has been with the team the last two games and is expected to kick again in Week 8 against the Buccaneers. Succop made 26 of 30 (86.7 percent) of his kicks last year and is 235-for-281 in his 10-year NFL career. He'll be on the streaming radar for kickers if he proves he's back to full health.
The Tennessee Titans placed kicker Ryan Succop (knee) on Injured Reserve on Wednesday and signed free agent Cairo Santos in a corresponding move, according to a source. Succop will have to sit out the first half of the season now, so he's obviously not a fantasy option. Santos made 14 of his 18 field-goal attempts with the Rams and Buccaneers last year. He's an 83.2 percent kicker in his five years in the league, but he's gone just 7-for-14 from 50-plus yards. He's an adequate fill-in for a run-first offense and should see plenty of opportunities, but Santos isn't on the fantasy radar to begin the season.
Tennessee Titans kicker Ryan Succop passed his physical and was removed from the Physically Unable to Perform list on Monday. Succop should be ready for the regular season, barring any setbacks. The 32-year-old kicker is in his sixth year with the Titans. He made 26 of his 30 field goal tries last year (86.7 percent) and 28 of his 31 extra points. Succop is an adequate kicker, but Tennessee's run-first offense often stalls due to their lack of a consistent deep threat. Succop can be a decent bye-week filler when the time comes, but you can probably do better with your starting kicker.
