Tommy Doyle Announces His Retirement

The Buffalo Bills announced on Friday that offensive tackle Tommy Doyle (knee) announced his retirement from the NFL due to medical reasons. Doyle tore his ACL early in 2022 and suffered a serious left-leg injury in the preseason in 2023 and was unable to play at all the last two seasons. The 26-year-old was originally a fifth-round pick (161st overall) by the Bills in the 2021 NFL draft out of Miami of Ohio. Doyle was a backup offensive lineman for the Bills in his two seasons and appeared in 12 games (no starts) in 2021 and 2022 (one game). In total, Doyle played only 102 snaps on offense for the Bills and also played sparingly on special teams (48 snaps). His most recent left-leg injury left him with nerve damage, forcing him into early retirement. "I'm just unable to play football at a high level, and it's time. When you know you know," Doyle said.
