Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer confirmed that tight end Trey Burton has a visit scheduled with the team. Burton never landed with a team after becoming an unrestricted free agent in the offseason. In 13 games (four starts) for the Indianapolis Colts in 2020, Burton had 28 catches on 47 targets for 250 yards and three touchdowns in a timeshare with Jack Doyle and Mo Alie-Cox. He also ran the ball twice for scores. Jacksonville is looking for some more tight end depth after recently placing James O'Shaughnessy on Injured Reserve with an injury he suffered in the Week 2 loss to the Denver Broncos. Chris Manhertz and rookie Luke Farrell are the next men up at the position for the Jags.
Indianapolis Colts tight end Trey Burton was mostly irrelevant over the last five weeks of the season, so he should not be relied on in the first round of the playoffs against the Bills. Over the last four games, Burton did not see a target in two of them. He also regularly played in less than 40 percent of the team's snaps down the final stretch of the season. Fellow tight ends Jack Doyle and Mo Alie-Cox have not capitalized on Burton's lack of production, so neither of them are great tight end options this weekend as well. None of the Colts tight ends should be considered in DFS lineups this weekend.
Indianapolis Colts tight end Trey Burton does not have much fantasy upside heading into the regular season finale against the Jaguars. He has three or less catches in nine consecutive games and has not found the end zone since Week 12. Fellow tight ends, Jack Doyle and Mo Alie-Cox have seen an increased workload, but they also have not been consistent enough to warrant fantasy consideration. All three are capable tight ends, but they are too risky to be inserted in fantasy lineups this week.
Indianapolis Colts tight end Trey Burton had another poor performance against the Steelers, hauling in just three catches on four targets for 18 yards. Burton had the least amount of receiving yards among Colts tight ends as Jack Doyle caught four passes for 50 yards, and Mo Alie-Cox caught one pass for 20 yards. Burton has four straight games of less than 20 receiving yards, putting him at seven such games on the season. Burton will not be a great fantasy option next week against the Jaguars, and neither will Doyle or Alie-Cox.
Indianapolis Colts tight end Trey Burton has been awful the past three weeks, and things will not get easier against a Steelers Defense that ranks first against opposing tight ends. Over the last three games, Burton has just two catches on five targets for 19 yards. Fellow tight ends Mo Alie-Cox and Jack Doyle also have not put up good fantasy numbers, so it is tough to depend on any Colts tight end this week. The three of them have been used more often as blocking tight ends rather than being featured in the passing game. Fantasy owners should not count on Burton or the other two Colts tight ends in Week 16.
Indianapolis Colts tight end Trey Burton caught just one pass on two targets for eight yards in a Sunday win against the Texans. Burton now has just two catches on five targets for 19 yards over the last three games. None of the Colts tight ends are putting up respectable fantasy performances as Jack Doyle and Mo Alie-Cox each had just two catches for 14 yards in today's game. Burton is showing that relying on touchdowns for viable fantasy performances as he has done for most of the season clearly is not sustainable. He will look for something more positive next week against the Steelers.
Indianapolis Colts tight end Trey Burton has struggled with consistency all season and was held without a target last week against the Raiders. Burton has shown he is able to string together solid performances this season but sometimes becomes absent in the games following. In a Week 13 contest against the Texans, Burton was held to just one reception on three targets for 11 yards. He continues to share snaps with Jack Doyle and Mo Alie-Cox, so his value regularly rests inside the 20-yard-line. Burton has a chance to notch his sixth touchdown this season but is definitely a volatile option.
Indianapolis Colts tight ends Trey Burton (knee) and Mo Alie-Cox (knee) were both added to the injury report on Wednesday after they were unable to practice. It's unclear if either player is in serious danger of sitting out in Week 15 against the Texans, but it's something to watch as the week progresses. Burton is the most fantasy relevant of the two, but he didn't see a single target in the 44-27 win over the Raiders in Week 14. The Colts utilize Burton, Alie-Cox and Jack Doyle at tight end, essentially canceling all three of them out for fantasy relevance. But if both Burton and Alie-Cox cannot play this weekend, Doyle would enter the streaming picture against Houston. Doyle has just 14 catches for 170 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games this season.
Indianapolis Colts tight end Trey Burton did not have a target in a Week 13 win against the Raiders. This is a bit odd as Burton has seen at least three targets in every game since returning from injury. Fellow tight ends Jack Doyle and Mo Alie-Cox tallied four catches on four targets for 53 yards on the day. Burton has struggled with consistency all season, and this game was just further indication of that. He has six total touchdowns in 10 games this season, but his touchdowns are pretty much the only thing that makes him worthy of consideration on a week-to-week basis. He matches up against the Texans next week where he had one catch for 11 yards in Week 13.
Indianapolis Colts tight end Trey Burton has struggled with consistency this season, which makes him a volatile tight end option heading into Week 14. He sees high-value targets due to a lot of snaps in the red zone, but his fantasy value is limited when he does not tally a touchdown. The Raiders defense is not very good, but they rank 10th against opposing tight ends, so it actually is not a great matchup for Burton this week. He struggles stringing together multiple good games in a row and also does not go for a lot of yards. Burton is worthy of consideration due to being a threat inside the 20-yard-line, but he likely comes with more risk than reward this week.
