Ty'Son Williams Makes Most Of Opportunities In Preseason Opener

Arizona Cardinals running back Ty'Son Williams ran for 51 yards on 10 carries in the team's 18-17 preseason win over Denver. The ex-Raven did not start the contest (that privilege went to Corey Clement) but was the more efficient runner. Neither James Conner nor Keaontay Ingram (abdomen) played Friday night. Williams appeared in one game for the Cardinals last season and is fighting for a roster spot this training camp. He is not worth drafting in standard-sized fantasy leagues.

Cardinals Sign Ty'Son Williams To Practice Squad

The Arizona Cardinals have signed free-agent running back Ty'Son Williams to their practice squad. After watching lead back James Conner and backup Darrel Williams exit Sunday's game against the Eagles due to injuries, the team appears to be bringing in some additional depth in case one or both players cannot suit up this week. The 26-year-old was one of several tailbacks they brought in for a workout, but so far, he is the only one they've elected to sign. He signed with the Indianapolis Colts to their practice squad in the offseason and spent two seasons as a Baltimore Raven before that. Even if both Conner and Williams are out, Eno Benjamin would be the starter, so this transaction has more implications for the health of those two than it does for Ty'Son Williams himself.

Colts Sign Ty'Son Williams

The Indianapolis Colts signed free-agent running back Ty'Son Williams to an undisclosed deal on Tuesday and waived center Alex Mollette in a corresponding move. Williams spent the last two seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, racking up 185 rushing yards and one touchdown on 35 carries while also catching nine of 12 targets for 84 yards in 13 games (three starts). All of his action came last season with Baltimore's backfield extremely beat up from the get-go. He'll join a Colts running back room that has All-Pro Jonathan Taylor, Nyheim Hines and Phillip Lindsay. Williams will provide valuable depth but won't be worth drafting in the vast majority of fantasy leagues before the regular season.

Ravens Withdraw Tender For Ty'Son Williams

The Baltimore Ravens withdrew the one-year tender for running back Ty'Son Williams on Tuesday, making him a free agent. It comes on the heels of the Ravens signing former Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers running back Mike Davis this week for more running back depth with J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards both returning from ACL tears this year. Williams had only 35 carries for 185 yards and one touchdown on the ground in his first NFL season last year, adding nine receptions for 84 yards on 12 targets in 13 games (three starts) for the Ravens. Wherever the 25-year-old lands, he'll be competing for a roster spot as RB depth and won't have much, if any at all, fantasy appeal.

Ravens Bring Back Tyler Huntley, Ty'Son Williams

The Baltimore Ravens tendered deals to impending exclusive-rights free-agent quarterback Tyler Huntley and running back Ty'Son Williams on Wednesday. The team also brought back Trystan Colon, Nick Moore, Geno Stone, Kristian Welch and Aaron Crawford. Huntley made his first four NFL starts with Lamar Jackson injured late in the 2021 season, and while he played admirably, he wasn't able to do enough to get the Ravens into the postseason. In seven total games, Huntley threw for 1,081 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions while adding 294 rushing yards and two TDs on 47 carries. He'll give Baltimore experience behind Jackson again in 2022. Williams carried the ball just 35 times for 185 yards and one score in 13 games (three starts).

Ty'Son Williams A Healthy Scratch In Week 13

Baltimore Ravens running back Ty'Son Williams is a healthy scratch for Sunday's meeting with the Steelers. Considering Williams has one offensive touch since Week 9, this shouldn't come as much of a surprise. You should have already let Williams go in redraft leagues awhile back, but he's still worth holding in dynasty since the Ravens running backs are all older players, with Devonta Freeman and Latavius Murray expected to shoulder the load this week.

Ty'Son Williams Inactive Again

Baltimore Ravens running back Ty'Son Williams is a healthy scratch for Sunday's game against the Chargers, the second time in three weeks that he's been inactive. After having six touches last week and producing just 21 yards, it appears Williams a popular waiver add after Week 1 is out of the rotation in Baltimore and can safely be dropped in any redraft leagues that he's still rostered in.

Ty'Son Williams Logs Four Carries In Monday's Win

Baltimore Ravens running back Ty'Son Williams rushed for six yards on four carries while catching both targets for 15 yards in Monday's 31-25 overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts. The Ravens running back was a healthy scratch last week and returned to action in Week 5. He continues to share the Ravens backfield with veterans Latavius Murray and Devonta Freeman. Williams didn't log his first carry until after Murray and Freeman. The 25-year-old has rushed for 170 yards on 31 attempts and one touchdown while reeling in 7-of-9 targets for 60 yards over four games in 2021. The Ravens backfield is muddled, and it's hard for fantasy managers to trust any of them in any given week. Williams has the most upside of the bunch and can be stashed in deep-league formats.

Ty'Son Williams A Healthy Scratch In Week 4

Baltimore Ravens running back Ty'Son Williams is a healthy scratch for Sunday's game against the Broncos. Baltimore will roll with the veteran trio of Latavius Murray, Devonta Freeman, and Le'Veon Bell, with Murray expected to see the bulk of the work. Williams was the team's lead back over the first two games, with 22 carries for 142 yards and a touchdown plus five catches for 45 yards. But he had just five carries last week despite playing 50 percent of the snaps. Still, a bit of a surprise to see Williams completely out of the rotation. Fantasy managers in redraft can drop Williams in shallow leagues.

Ty'Son Williams Overshadowed In Week 3

Baltimore Ravens running back Ty'Son Williams finished the Week 3 win over the Detroit Lions by racking up just 22 yards off five carries. He also missed his only target from Lamar Jackson. Despite the miserable showing, the 25-year-old has played relatively well this year, especially for a guy who wasn't even supposed to make the team. He will have his off weeks, mainly since he will continue to concede chances to Jackson and Latavius Murray. However, he should remain on rosters in deeper leagues, especially in PPR setups. Consider Williams a flex option in those formats ahead of the Week 4 showdown with Denver on Sunday.
