Detroit Red Wings winger Bobby Ryan will return to the lineup on Saturday versus Dallas after missing two games with an undisclosed injury. The veteran winger started his career in Detroit with four goals in three games, but he's has had very little success since his red-hot start to the season, boasting 13 points in 28 games with a minus-10 rating. However, Ryan does have some good history against the Stars with 32 points in 44 career games. It marks his fifth-highest point tally against any opposition.
Detroit Red Wings winger Bobby Ryan (upper body) will miss Tuesday's game against Carolina and is listed as day-to-day. The team will enter Evgeny Svechnikov into the lineup. Ryan has six goals and 13 points for the season in 28 outings. His next chance to play comes on Thursday against Dallas. Svechnikov, who has averaged a point per game in four outings this season in the NHL, will skate in a special matchup, as his younger brother Andrei plays for the Hurricanes. He has one point in one game against Carolina this season.
Detroit Red Wings forward Bobby Ryan registered a pair of goals on Monday as his team fell 3-2 to the Columbus Blue Jackets. The 33-year-old also contributed a plus-one rating, 17 penalty minutes, three shots on goal and two hits in the contest. Signed in the offseason as an unrestricted free agent, Ryan is off to a goal-per-game pace (three goals in three games) early on with his new team in 2020-2021. The four-time 30-goal scorer should get plenty of ice time on an expectedly poor Wings squad this season, and as a result is certainly worth monitoring as a short-term add or streaming option moving forward.
