Connor Bedard Set to Return Before Olympic Break

Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard (shoulder) is expected to return to action before the Olympic break, Scott Powers of The Athletic reports. Chicago's young star is recovering from a shoulder injury and missed his 11th straight game on Sunday against the Vegas Golden Knights. The Blackhawks have their final game before the international break on Feb. 4. Before his injury, Bedard was battling for the Art Ross Trophy as the NHL's top scorer. He has posted 44 points (19 goals, 25 assists) in 31 outings this season. Currently, Chicago is using Ryan Greene as Bedard's replacement on the first line, giving him more fantasy appeal.

Jason Dickinson Hurt Versus Islanders

Chicago Blackhawks center Jason Dickinson (undisclosed) didn't finish Tuesday's 3-2 shootout loss to the New York Islanders. He exited the action after the first period because of an undisclosed injury. Due to injuries to Connor Bedard (upper body) and Frank Nazar (upper body), Dickinson has recently had a larger role with the Blackhawks and had notched points in back-to-back games prior to Tuesday night. In total, he has managed four goals and eight points in 26 games. Ryan Greene and Oliver Moore, who combined for three points against the Islanders, could see increased usage if Dickinson misses additional time.

Nick Foligno Set to Return Sunday

Chicago Blackhawks forward Nick Foligno (hand) was activated from Injured Reserve and is expected to return from a 19-game absence on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Penguins. To make room for him on the roster, the Blackhawks moved Frank Nazar (upper body) to Injured Reserve. Nazar will sit out a third consecutive contest on Sunday night. Frank Nazar Expected to Miss Four Weeks

Chicago Blackhawks center Frank Nazar (face) is expected to miss approximately four weeks after being hurt during Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Ottawa Senators. He took a puck to the face just minutes into the game. Nazar has recently filled top-line center duties due to the absence of Connor Bedard (shoulder). The 21-year-old has managed 21 points (six goals, 15 assists) in 33 games during his sophomore campaign. With Bedard and Nazar both out, Ryan Greene may get back into the top six. He led all Blackhawks forwards in ice time on Saturday and collected two assists.

Artyom Levshunov Scratched for Tuesday

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Artyom Levshunov will be scratched for Tuesday's contest against the Toronto Maple Leafs after he was late for Monday's practice. His absence will leave a big hole on Chicago's blue line, as Levshunov's role within the team has grown throughout the season. He has become the Blackhawks' highest scoring defenseman with 14 points (one goal, 13 assists) in 31 games and has averaged nearly 20 minutes of ice time this month. Levshunov ranks in the top five on the team for both blocks (32) and hits (30). Ethan Del Mastro, who was recalled from the AHL, will replace Levshunov in the lineup, while Wyatt Kaiser will join the second power-play unit.

Connor Bedard Out Until 2026

Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard (upper body) won't return to action until January. The team placed him on Injured Reserve and plans to re-evaluate Bedard in early January. Due to an upper-body injury, Bedard missed his first game of the season on Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings. The injury had paused Bedard's sensational campaign, in which he has recorded 44 points (19 goals, 25 assists) over 31 games. With Bedard unavailable, Frank Nazar will work as the first-line center, flanked by Tyler Bertuzzi and Andre Burakovsky. Meanwhile, Jason Dickinson has joined the second line.

Connor Bedard Ruled Out for Saturday

Chicago Blackhawks center Connor Bedard (shoulder) will not play on Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings. He appeared to have injured his right shoulder during a faceoff late in Friday's 3-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues. Chicago's young superstar bagged two assists on Friday night to continue his spectacular season. Bedard has tallied 44 points (19 goals, 25 assists) in 31 games, tying him for fourth on the NHL's scoring charts. Given the nature of the injury, Bedard could be facing a longer absence, which would be a massive blow for the Blackhawks' playoff hopes.

Spencer Knight Stops Rangers From Scoring Wednesday

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Spencer Knight posted his second shutout of the season on Wednesday night against the New York Rangers, finishing a 3-0 victory with 21 saves. Connor Bedard took care of things on the other end, recording a goal and an assist. After a great start to the campaign, Knight struggled with consistency in November, but he appears to have gotten over the hump in December. The 24-year-old has opened the month with a 2-1-1 run. Knight holds a 10-6-5 record for the season and has a 2.50 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage. Next up, Knight and the Blackhawks face the struggling St. Louis Blues, who are averaging only 2.55 goals this season.

The Finnish forward took a puck to the face in Thursday's 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings and left the action with 56.4 seconds remaining. Fortunately, Blackhawks head coach Jeff Blashill told reporters postgame that Teravainen would be fine. Teravainen is among Chicago's leaders with eight power-play points and has amassed 17 points (six goals, 11 assists) in total across 27 outings. In recent games, Teravainen has been quiet, finishing scoreless in two contests and recording only one shot on goal.

During the campaign, Burakovsky has tallied five power-play points and 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) overall in 18 games. The 30-year-old, who has recorded four multi-point efforts in his past 10 outings, is enjoying a good bounce-back season after finishing with only 37 points last term.

If he returns, Burakovsky is expected to play alongside Connor Bedard and Ryan Greene on the first line and will join the first power-play unit. Andre Burakovsky Ruled Out for Friday

Chicago Blackhawks winger Andre Burakovsky (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Friday's clash against the Buffalo Sabres. Burakovsky has played a big part in Chicago's success this season, scoring seven goals and 15 points in 18 games. The Blackhawks will likely bring Landon Slaggert back into the lineup to replace Burakovsky. Teuvo Teravainen, who had a goal and an assist on Thursday night, could move up to the top six.

The young Blackhawks star is fourth in the league in scoring, with 29 points (13 goals, 16 assists) across 19 games. Over his last 10 outings, Bedard has averaged over two points per game, notching 10 goals and 11 assists.

Nick Foligno Ruled Out for Four Weeks

Chicago Blackhawks forward Nick Foligno (hand) is set to miss four weeks after being injured in Saturday's 3-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Blackhawks captain left the game after blocking a shot with his hand late in the second period. This season, Foligno has recorded six assists but has yet to score a goal, having registered 16 shots on net. He also sits second on his team with 41 hits. The injury bug has hit the Blackhawks hard lately, as the team's frontline was already without Tyler Bertuzzi (undisclosed) and Jason Dickinson (shoulder) for Saturday's game.

Tyler Bertuzzi a Game-Time Call Saturday

Chicago Blackhawks winger Tyler Bertuzzi (undisclosed) missed Friday's practice and is considered a game-time call for Saturday night's action against the Toronto Maple Leafs. According to Blackhawks head coach Jeff Blashill, Bertuzzi is "banged up." Bertuzzi's absence would be a major blow for the Blackhawks, as he's been a monster offensively in recent games. Over a four-game stretch, Bertuzzi has contributed six goals and two assists. He fills a top-line role and skates on the first power-play line. Bertuzzi's recent hot spell includes a three-game streak of power-play goals. Frank Nazar (abdomen) and Jason Dickinson (shoulder) practiced on Friday and could make a timely return to action on Saturday night if Bertuzzi has to skip the game.

Andre Burakovsky Available Saturday

Chicago Blackhawks winger Andre Burakovsky (illness) is poised to rejoin the fun on Saturday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Blackhawks welcomed him back to practice on Friday after Burakovsky had skipped Wednesday's loss to the New Jersey Devils due to illness. Burakovsky heated up late last month and boasts 10 points (five goals, five assists) from his last seven appearances. Overall, he ranks as Chicago's third-highest scorer with 14 points (seven goals, seven assists) in 15 games. Burakovsky will head straight back to the top line and the first power-play unit for Saturday's game. He has notched five points (one goal, four assists) with the man advantage.

Andre Burakovsky a Game-Time Call Wednesday

Chicago Blackhawks winger Andre Burakovsky (undisclosed) is considered a game-time decision for Wednesday's meeting with the New Jersey Devils. The Swedish forward is dealing with an undisclosed injury and didn't skate on Wednesday morning. Chicago will be desperate to have Burakovsky available, as he has been on fire lately. The 30-year-old has recorded back-to-back multi-point games and has managed 10 of his 14 points this season over his past seven outings. Landon Slaggert is set to come into the lineup as his replacement if Burakovsky is deemed not healthy enough to play. However, Slaggert has only recorded one point this season across eight appearances in the NHL and AHL, so his impact on Wednesday's game will likely be minimal.

Frank Nazar Out on Wednesday

Chicago Blackhawks center Frank Nazar (undisclosed) won't be in the lineup on Wednesday against the New Jersey Devils. An undisclosed health issue will keep the young forward sidelined for a second consecutive contest. Although Nazar has not registered a single point in his last five appearances, he has generally had a good season. In 15 games, Nazar has produced 11 points (five goals, six assists). With Nazar out, Ryan Greene is expected to maintain a second-line role on Wednesday. Greene has totaled only three points (one goal, two assists) in 14 outings and should remain a free agent in fantasy leagues.
