Nick Foligno Available Tuesday

Chicago Blackhawks forward Nick Foligno (illness) is poised to return to action on Tuesday against Washington. He missed Sunday's 5-3 win over the Islanders because of an illness. The veteran winger is projected to skate in a first-line role on Tuesday. Foligno has registered assists in each of his last two appearances and has tallied 13 points (seven goals, six assists) in 30 games for the season overall. The Blackhawks captain leads his team with 86 hits. Another productive outing on Tuesday would give Foligno his first three-game point streak since February.

Taylor Hall A Game-Time Decision For Tuesday

Chicago Blackhawks left wing Taylor Hall (undisclosed) is in danger of missing Tuesday's contest against Washington. He is considered a game-time decision for the matchup. It would be very unfortunate for Hall if he has to sit on Tuesday because he's had his best stretch of the season lately. Over the past four games, Hall has produced two goals and two assists. The former MVP has struggled for most of the campaign, amassing seven goals and 14 points in 30 outings. Philipp Kurashev is projected to join Frank Nazar and Tyler Bertuzzi on the second line if Hall isn't available versus the Capitals.

Teuvo Teravainen Ends Slump With Three-Point Outing

Chicago Blackhawks winger Teuvo Teravainen collected three points as the team defeated the Islanders 5-3 on home ice on Sunday. He kicked things off with a couple of even-strength assists in the first period and potted a power-play goal in the second. Teravainen recorded as many points as he had across his previous 10 outings. Chicago's offense has been horrible for most of the year, and Teravainen has been limited to 16 points (seven goals, nine assists) in 31 games. A lot more is expected from the Finnish forward, who averaged close to 0.70 points only a season ago.

Alec Martinez Added To Injured Reserve

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Alec Martinez (neck) has been placed on Injured Reserve, retroactive to Dec. 7. He has missed two games due to a neck injury. Martinez's health has been an issue all season for the Blackhawks, as the veteran defenseman has been limited to 15 appearances. He has recorded four points (one goal, three assists), 15 shots, and 38 blocks. In a corresponding move, the Blackhawks recalled Frank Nazar from the AHL. The 20-year-old forward is getting rewarded for showing off hot form. Nazard is among the AHL's top scorers with 24 points (11 goals, 13 assists) in 21 games. He practiced on the second line Friday.

Taylor Hall Enjoys Multi-Point Outing Versus Rangers

Chicago Blackhawks left wing Taylor Hall had a hand in both goals as the team shocked the New York Rangers on Monday with a 2-1 win at Madison Square Garden. Hall helped Tyler Bertuzzi start the scoring in the contest in the first period, and he netted a goal himself with his only shot on target in the second frame. It was Hall's third multi-point performance of the season. The former MVP tends to come alive occasionally, but his work overall has been lacking. Through 27 outings, Hall has registered six goals and six assists. He's yet to find the score sheet in back-to-back games this season.

Petr Mrazek Placed On injured Reserve

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek (groin) has been placed on Injured Reserve. The oft-injured netminder sustained a groin injury in Saturday's matchup against Winnipeg. Mrazek has worked as Chicago's No. 1 between the pipes this season, putting together a 7-11-1 record. He's registered a 2.83 goals-against average with a .906 save percentage. The Blackhawks remain without Laurent Brossoit (knee), meaning Arvid Soderblom, who's gone 1-6-1 so far, will be in line for a lot of extra work. Drew Commesso has been called up from the minors to serve as Soderblom's backup.

Laurent Brossoit Out For Six Weeks After Undergoing Another Knee Procedure

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Laurent Brossoit (knee) is expected to miss at least six further weeks of action. He underwent a follow-up arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on Tuesday. Due to knee trouble, Brossoit has yet to play this season. Brossoit has proven himself as one of the best backups in the league during his career and was set to battle for a starting job in Chicago after the Blackhawks signed him to a two-year, $6.6 million deal as a free agent in the summer. Petr Mrazek has filled the position during Brossoit's absence, going 7-8-1 with a 2.64 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage.

Taylor Hall Turns Back The Clock With Fifth Hat Trick

Chicago Blackhawks left wing Taylor Hall regained his MVP form for one night as he netted his fifth career hat trick in Wednesday's 6-2 win over Dallas. Hall started the damage just 17 seconds into the game and already had two goals inside six minutes. He hadn't scored three goals in a single game since 2013. The 2018 Hart Trophy winner has had a difficult time in recent years, and his production has been lacking in 2024-25 as well, even leading to Hall sitting as a healthy scratch. He's on nine points (five goals, four assists) in 21 games and belongs on the waiver wire in most fantasy leagues.

Jason Dickinson  • C  •  Blackhawks

Jason Dickinson Expected To Play On Saturday

Chicago Blackhawks center Jason Dickinson (hand) is expected to remain in the lineup on Saturday versus Philadelphia. He injured his hand Thursday against Florida. Dickinson has lately found himself as the Blackhawks' first-line center, with Connor Bedard skating on the wing. He produced a two-goal effort against Anaheim earlier in the week. The season as a whole hasn't been very fruitful for Dickinson, as he's sitting on seven points (four goals, three assists) through 20 games. However, that's been the case for most Chicago skaters, with the team scoring only 2.35 goals per game, which is the third-worst mark in the league.

Seth Jones  • D  •  Blackhawks

Seth Jones Expected To Miss Four Weeks

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Seth Jones (foot) is expected to miss four weeks of action. Jones injured his right foot when he blocked a shot in a game against Seattle last week. He will sit out a third consecutive contest on Thursday versus Florida. The multi-time All-Star is a big contributor at both ends of the ice, and Chicago has struggled without him, losing back-to-back games with a combined score of 7-3. Nolan Allan has jumped back into action during Jones' absence, while Alex Vlasic led the Blackhawks blue-liners with 26:34 of ice time in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Anaheim. He has also logged the most power-play time among defensemen in the last two games.

Connor Bedard Ends Drought With Two Assists

Chicago Blackhawks center Connor Bedard set up Jason Dickinson for a pair of goals in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Anaheim, ending a three-game point drought. The teenage forward now boasts five multi-point outings this term. However, Bedard's performances have been inconsistent, particularly in November, as he's picked up points in only three of eight games. Bedard has notched 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) in 19 contests for his entire sophomore campaign. Somehow, he's still close to averaging a point per game despite getting on the score sheet in back-to-back outings just once all season.

Seth Jones Added To Injured Reserve

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Seth Jones (foot) has been placed on Injured Reserve. He logged over 26 minutes of action against Seattle on Wednesday but also injured his right foot in the contest. Jones will be unavailable for at least three games, starting with Saturday's matchup against Vancouver. Jones' absence leaves a huge gap in the Chicago defense. He's the team's third-highest scorer with 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in 17 games and has racked up 34 blocks with 22 hits. The Blackhawks have recalled Louis Crevier from the minors, while Nolan Allan is another option to enter the lineup on Saturday.

Alec Martinez A Game-Time Call On Thursday

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Alec Martinez (groin) has been labeled as a game-time decision for Thursday's matchup against Seattle. He has missed a month of action with a groin injury. However, it appears as though Martinez will be ready to return on Thursday, as the team has activated him from Injured Reserve. Before suffering the injury, Martinez recorded one assist, four shots, and 15 blocks in four games at the start of the season. He should see a good amount of minutes as Seth Jones' companion on the first defensive pairing, but Martinez doesn't produce much offense, limiting his fantasy appeal.

Petr Mrazek Bags Overtime Win Versus WIld

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek had a strong outing against the Minnesota Wild on Sunday, kicking away 31 of 32 shots in a 2-1 overtime win. The Czech netminder came very close to his first shutout of the campaign, as Matt Boldy scored for Minnesota with only 4:31 left in regulation. The red-hot Wild were limited to fewer than three goals for only the fourth time this season. Mrazek has picked up some form lately but has been flipping between wins and losses for six starts. He has taken his record to 5-7-0 and boasts a 2.85 goals-against average with a .905 save percentage. These are good numbers from Mrazek, but he's carrying a losing record because the team offense struggles. There are only five teams in the league averaging fewer goals than Chicago.

Connor Bedard Records Three Assists In Sunday's Win

Chicago Blackhawks center Connor Bedard set up three goals in Sunday's 4-2 victory at Anaheim. He finished with two even-strength and one power play assist, adding five shots and one block in 17:41 of ice time. Bedard ended a three-game point drought on Sunday. While the teenage centerman has struggled to make an impact in recent games, his work overall has been solid this season. Through 13 games, Bedard sits on 12 points (three goals, nine assists). However, fantasy managers probably want to see a bit more consistency from Bedard, as he has finished seven games scoreless.

Pat Maroon Misses Saturday's Matchup

Chicago Blackhawks left wing Pat Maroon (lower body) will miss Saturday's game against Buffalo. He has been left nursing a lower-body injury after blocking a shot with his leg in Thursday's matchup versus San Jose. The three-time Stanley Cup champ has contributed one assist in five games this season while delivering 10 hits in a fourth-line role. The Blackhawks will also be without Joey Anderson (illness) on Saturday, giving Andreas Athanasiou and Ryan Donato a chance to jump back into the lineup.

Connor Bedard Delivers Two Assists In Thursday's Win

Chicago Blackhawks center Connor Bedard had his third multi-point outing of the season on Thursday, finishing a 4-2 victory over San Jose with two assists. Bedard's helpers both came with the man's advantage. The 19-year-old has enjoyed a prolific start to his sophomore campaign, posting seven points (one goal, six assists) in five games. However, he has blown hot and cold, flipping between multi-point games and scoreless efforts. Bedard will try to break the pattern on Saturday versus Buffalo. It's a favorable matchup for the teenage sensation, as the Sabres have so far allowed 4.00 goals per game with a horrible .874 save percentage.

Alec Martinez Placed On Injured Reserve

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Alec Martinez (groin) will miss Thursday's game against San Jose and has been placed on Injured Reserve. The veteran rearguard faces a spell on the sidelines due to a groin strain. Martinez, who joined the Blackhawks on a one-year deal in free agency in the summer, has recorded one assist with four shots and 15 blocks through the first four games of the season. He's been a core member of the backline, averaging over 21 minutes a night. Chicago has called up Isaak Phillips from the minors to add defensive depth, while Nolan Allan is expected to replace Martinez in the lineup on Thursday. This will be his second NHL appearance. Allen went scoreless in 10:26 of ice time in his debut against Seattle on Oct. 8.

Taylor Hall Fully Ready For Start Of Training Camp

Chicago Blackhawks left wing Taylor Hall (knee) will be a full participant in training camp, the team announced on Tuesday. Hall's 2023-24 season ended with knee surgery in November after he had played only 10 games. The veteran star posted two goals and two assists. After also having a nightmare in 2022-23 with Boston, scoring 36 points (16 goals, 20 assists) in 61 games, Hall must be very eager to prove his worth this season, especially as this is a contract year for him. Hall is projected to start the campaign on the second line and should feature heavily on the power play.

Laurent Brossoit Recovering From Knee Surgery

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Laurent Brossoit will miss the start of training camp after undergoing surgery on his right knee. The 31-year-old veteran is expected to be game-ready in five to seven weeks. The Blackhawks kick off their 2024-25 campaign against Utah on Oct. 8. Following a second spell with the Winnipeg Jets, Brossoit joined the Blackhawks on a two-year deal in free agency this summer. He'll be sharing the net with Petr Mrazek. Brossoit had an impressive 15-5-2 record with a 2.00 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage last season. He benefited from playing behind a strong team, and the 2023 Stanley Cup winner is set to face a much tougher time in Chicago.
