Craig Smith Back For Bruins Wednesday

Boston Bruins right wing Craig Smith (upper body) is available again ahead of Wednesday's matchup against Colorado. He's been out for the last three games. The veteran has fallen to the fourth line this season, averaging fewer than 10 minutes a game. It's been a tough situation for him, and with injuries playing their part as well, Smith has so far collected only three points in 10 games. A.J. Greer will be scratched to make way for Smith Wednesday.

Craig Smith Out With An Illness

Boston Bruins right wing Craig Smith will sit out Thursday's game against New Jersey with an illness. Marc McLaughlin will make his NHL debut in his place on the third line. Boston signed McLaughlin to a two-year entry-level contract earlier in the month. He posted 32 points in 33 games with Boston College this season and also featured for Team USA at the Olympics. Smith, who has enjoyed a solid campaign with 31 points in 59 games, will get his first opportunity to return on Saturday against Columbus.

Craig Smith Can't Stop Scoring

Boston Bruins right wing Craig Smith scored the team's first goal in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to Minnesota, reaching eight goals for the month. The veteran winger is tied with Matt Duchene, Anders Lee, Auston Matthews and Jason Robertson for most goals in March. He's on 14 markers overall for the campaign and has also managed to pick up 14 assists in 54 games. Smith won't be able to keep up his current form forever, but his hot run might still continue for a little longer, as Boston gets ready to face Winnipeg and Montreal, two teams that give up a lot of goals.

Craig Smith Leads The Way For Boston With Two Goals Saturday

Boston Bruins winger Craig Smith netted two goals in a 3-2 victory over Arizona Saturday. Smith, on the season, has 13 goals and 14 assists in 51 contests for the Bruins. The Madison, Wisconsin native typically skates on the right-wing for the Bruins third line. However, he is not an essential player in fantasy as he is in more of a checking-type role for Boston.

Craig Smith Scores Fifth Boston Hat Trick

Boston Bruins right wing Craig Smith became a hat-trick hero on Thursday, helping his team to a 5-2 victory over Vegas. He put the team up 2-0 and got them a very comfortable lead at 4-1 after David Pastrnak had hit his 30th goal of the season. Boston players have now scored five hat tricks this season, which puts the team tied with Pittsburgh for the most in the league. It's Smith's third career hat trick. Having dropped down to the third line, Smith has lost most of his fantasy appeal, but he's done well lately by notching at least one point in six of his last nine appearances. He's on 22 points for the whole season in 48 games.

Craig Smith Scores Second Career Hat Trick

Boston Bruins right wing Craig Smith recorded his second career hat trick in Saturday's 6-2 win over Buffalo. David Krejci registered three assists. The Bruins joined Florida and Arizona as the third team with four different hat-trick scorers this season. Smith posted his second consecutive multi-point outing, after finishing Thursday's 5-2 victory over the Sabres with two assists. He's up to 13 goals and 32 points for the year in 48 games. The 31-year-old has been a regular among the top-six and enjoyed a very fruitful April with 15 points. Judging by his performance on Saturday, it looks like Smith is also set for a productive May.

Craig Smith Continues Hot Stretch With Two Points

Boston Bruins right wing Craig Smith dropped down to the second line for Tuesday's meeting with Buffalo, but still kept his point streak going with a goal and assist in a 3-2 shootout win. The veteran winger has points in five straight games, producing three multi-point efforts during the streak. Getting dropped from the first line isn't actually bad news for the 31-year-old, as he gets a chance to skate with Taylor Hall. The former Sabre had three shots and one hit in his team debut, logging 16:43 of ice time. Smith's next chance to keep his point streak alive comes Thursday against the Islanders.

Craig Smith Continues Success On First Line

Boston Bruins right wing Craig Smith handed out a pair of assists in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Flyers, helping Patrice Bergeron and Jake DeBrusk on the scoreboard. It marks his second consecutive multi-point outing on Boston's first line. The Bruins have broken up their famous trio by dropping David Pastrnak to the second line. Smith will carry a three-game point streak into Sunday's meeting with Washington. He has recorded almost half (10) of his 21 points this year in his past six outings. It's been a very successful week for the Madison, Wisconsin native, and he gets to start next week with a perfect matchup as well with the B's hosting Buffalo.

David Krejci, Craig Smith Combine For Six Assists

Boston Bruins forwards David Krejci and Craig Smith ran the show in Tuesday's 5-4 shootout victory over New Jersey as both finished with three assists. Smith played a part in both goals when the Bruins erased a 4-2 deficit in the third period. The duo plays on a line with Nick Ritchie, who potted his 10th goal of the season on Tuesday. Krejci has now recorded two three-point efforts in five games. The veteran center is having a nice season with 21 points in 28 games. Smith doesn't get any power-play time, so he's been quieter with 14 points in 31 outings, but he is averaging a point per game across his last five appearances. Boston will now battle with the Penguins twice to close out the week.

Craig Smith In, Jack Studnicka Out Saturday

Boston Bruins center Craig Smith (lower body) will make his season debut on Saturday against the New Jersey Devils. Rookie forward Jack Studnicka comes out of the lineup as a corresponding move. Smith was one of the few free-agent acquisitions the Bruins made over the summer. He tallied 31 points in 69 games with the Predators last season and jumps on to a line with Nick Ritchie and Charlie Coyle. Unless he moves into the top six, Smith can be ignored in all standard formats.
