Johnny Gaudreau Maintains Momentum With Three-Point Effort

Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Johnny Gaudreau racked up three points in Wednesday's 7-4 victory over Anaheim, potting a goal and posting two assists. The silky winger registered his third multi-point effort in five outings to continue his recent scoring surge. Gaudreau has bagged 11 points (one goal, 10 assists) over his last eight appearances. It's been by far the most productive period of Gaudreau's season. However, Gaudreau's numbers still have a lot of room for improvement, as the seven-time All-Star sits on only eight goals and 40 points through 55 outings.

Johnny Gaudreau Has Multi-Point Outing Versus Carolina

Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Johnny Gaudreau had his second multi-point outing of the season on Sunday versus Carolina, finishing a 3-2 loss with a goal and an assist. Led by Gaudreau, the Blue Jackets grabbed a 2-0 lead early in the third period, but the team's struggles continued with yet another defeat. Columbus is now 6-12-4 for the season, and it's been very challenging for Gaudreau to please fantasy managers on a bad team. He's done well lately by logging two goals and three assists over a five-game stretch, but the seven-time All-Star is on only 11 points (three goals, eight assists) for the season with 22 games played.

Johnny Gaudreau Eager To Play Under Mike Babcock

Columbus Blue Jackets winger Johnny Gaudreau is looking forward to working with new head coach Mike Babcock and believes that the team will have a bounce-back year. "He's been in this league for a long time," Gaudreau said about Babcock to Adam Kimelman of NHL.com. "He's going to come straightforward with what he wants and how he wants his team ran. It's what we need. We need that hard-nosed coach that's going to push us in practices and in games. I'm excited to get out there and start the season off with him, and I think we're going to have a good year this year." Columbus finished with the second-worst record in the league last season and the team's poor play also left a mark on Gaudreau's numbers, as the skillful winger completed his debut campaign in Ohio with only 74 points (21 goals, 53 assists) in 80 games. However, Gaudreau appears to be very confident that the 2023-24 campaign will be completely different for him and the team.

Johnny Gaudreau Pots His 21st Goal In Season Finale

Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Johnny Gaudreau closed out the 2022-23 campaign with his 21st goal of the season. He put the team 1-0 up against Buffalo inside the opening minute, but the Blue Jackets ended up suffering a 5-2 loss. Gaudreau finished the campaign with a three-game point streak and scored in both of the final two games, but the season was full of frustration for him, as Columbus struggled to compete and battled injuries all year. Gaudreau himself missed a pair of games, finishing with 74 points in 80 appearances. He signed a big seven-year deal last summer with the club and will hope for a much better year in 2023-24. It will come with a new head coach after the Blue Jackets announced the firing of Brad Larsen Saturday.

Johnny Gaudreau Ready For Saturday's Action

Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Johnny Gaudreau (illness) will play Saturday against the Rangers. His status for the game was in doubt after Gaudreau logged only 2:15 of ice time Thursday versus New Jersey due to an illness, but he has made a fast recovery and is good to go. Johnny Hockey has been quiet lately, going scoreless in four of his past five appearances, but he leads the team with 71 points in 76 games and should be Columbus' main offensive threat. Gaudreau will skate with Boone Jenner and Kirill Marchenko on the first line.

Johnny Gaudreau Exits Game With An Illness

Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Johnny Gaudreau made a very early exit Thursday against New Jersey, leaving the game with an illness after taking just three shifts. He logged a total of 2:15 of ice time in the contest. It's unclear if this will also affect Gaudreau's status for Saturday's clash with the Rangers. Gaudreau has been by far the team's best attacking player, boasting 71 points through 76 games, but battling for a last-place finish definitely wasn't something he envisioned when signing a seven-year deal with the club last summer. He will aim to gain momentum for next season when he's healthy enough to play again.

Johnny Gaudreau Records Two Points Against Rangers

Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Johnny Gaudreau finished with one goal and one assist in Tuesday's 6-2 loss against the Rangers. The Blue Jackets forward brought the team within one on the scoreboard with his goal in the final minute of the first period, but the team would be held scoreless in the following 40 minutes. Gaudreau has totaled 19 goals and a team-high 50 assists through 71 games in his first season with the organization, and fantasy managers will look for a productive finish from the 29-year-old forward after taking a step back from his 2021-22 season totals with the Flames.

Johnny Gaudreau Records Two Points In Victory

Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Johnny Gaudreau finished with one goal and one assist in Friday's 5-4 overtime victory against the Islanders. Gaudreau opened the scoring for the Blue Jackets on a first period power play goal, and he later picked up an assist on Boone Jenner's game-winning goal in overtime. Gaudreau's first season with the Blue Jackets has been a disappointing one for fantasy managers, as the talented forward has seen a massive drop off in scoring after a career-year with the Flames during the 2021-22 season. Gaudreau's totals of 18 goals, 49 assists and a rough minus-28 rating have him ranked outside of the top-100 in standard Yahoo leagues.

Johnny Gaudreau Ties Franchise Record With A Five-Point Game

Columbus Blue Jackets winger Johnny Gaudreau tied a franchise record with a five-point effort in Tuesday's 6-5 overtime win against San Jose. He became the fifth Blue Jackets player to register five points in a single game, and Gaudreau capped off his third career five-point game in style by scoring the game-winning goal in overtime. He finished with two goals in total and dished out three assists. Gaudreau had scored just once in his previous 12 appearances and it's been a disappointing debut campaign for him in Columbus, but he's still close to averaging a point per game, having produced 17 goals and 45 assists across 64 outings.

Johnny Gaudreau Returns For Columbus Thursday

Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Johnny Gaudreau (lower body) will be back from a two-game absence Thursday against Minnesota. He will take his normal spot on the top line and the first power-play unit. Gaudreau grabbed points from three consecutive games before getting hurt, and he's amassed 15 goals and 37 assists in 55 games overall this season. Things haven't gone quite as planned for Johnny Hockey in his first year in Columbus, but he's always a threat on the ice and should be highly motivated to finish the campaign as best as he can.

Johnny Gaudreau Out On Saturday

Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Johnny Gaudreau is forced to sit out Saturday's action against Dallas with a lower-body injury. Johnny Hockey has so far been ever-present this season for the Blue Jackets and held a 349-game ironman streak overall. It's been a tough year for Columbus, but Gaudreau has done reasonably well during his debut campaign in Ohio, logging a team-high 52 points in 55 games. Kirill Marchenko, who has posted 14 goals and one assist in 32 appearances, is projected to replace Gaudreau on the first line Saturday.

Johnny Gaudreau Stays Hot With 14th Goal

Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Johnny Gaudreau scored his 14th goal of the season Tuesday against Washington, pushing the game into overtime where his crew had to take another loss with a 4-3 score. The Blue Jackets sit bottom of the league with only 15 wins and 34 points from 51 games. Gaudreau's addition hasn't had the desired effect on the team's fortunes, but Johnny Hockey has at least had some personal success lately, collecting eight points from the last seven games. However, it's been a down year for the silky winger overall, with 49 points in 51 games.

Johnny Gaudreau Has Another Multi-Point Performance

Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Johnny Gaudreau maneuvered his way to a fourth multi-point performance in five games on Friday, finishing a 4-1 victory over Winnipeg with three assists. Two of his helpers came on goals by Patrik Laine and he also helped to set up Gustav Nyquist. Johnny Hockey reached 25 points for the campaign and he has done the damage in just 22 outings. It's a pretty impressive feat from Gaudreau, considering that he hasn't really spent much time with Laine due to his injury problems. They should form a deadly duo on the top line, which is centered by Boone Jenner.

Johnny Gaudreau Sits Out Sunday's Practice With An Illness

Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Johnny Gaudreau wasn't at Sunday's practice due to an illness. He could now end up missing his first game of the season, with Columbus returning to action Monday versus Vegas. Gaudreau's debut campaign in Columbus hasn't gone according to plan, with the team badly struggling, but he shouldn't feel too bad about his personal success on the ice. With 20 games played, Gaudreau has averaged a point per night with seven goals and 13 assists. With Jakub Voracek (upper body) and Patrik Laine (ankle) already missing, the team will be desperate to have Gaudreau available Monday.

Johnny Gaudreau Collects His Second Goal As A Blue Jacket

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau scored a goal and added an assist defeating Vancouver 4-3 in overtime. Gaudreau lit the lamp in the third period, making it 3-3, and Vladislav Gavrikov netted the game-winner. The former Calgary Flames player now has two goals and two assists in four games which is good news since the Blue Jackets' other offensive threat Patrik Laine will be out for three to four weeks with an upper-body injury. Fantasy managers look for Gaudreau to be productive all season, especially with the help of Laine once he is healthy.

Johnny Gaudreau Heads Into Game 2 With Six-Game Point Streak

Calgary Flames winger Johnny Gaudreau is riding a six-game point streak ahead of Friday's Game 2 against Edmonton. Calgary's scoring was very inconsistent in the first round against Dallas, but Gaudreau finished pointless just once in the seven-game series and he started the second round with a three-point effort. Combined with the regular season, the silky winger has now tallied 11 points in five games against the Oilers this season. He's averaged 1.44 points per game at home throughout the campaign and will look to make noise at the Saddledome again Friday night.

Johnny Gaudreau Takes Down The Stars

Calgary Flames winger Johnny Gaudreau produced the game-winning goal as the team beat Dallas in Sunday's Game 7 3-2 in overtime. He also had an assist in the game and finished the series with his seventh shot on goal 15:09 into overtime. Johnny Hockey had a very slow start in the series but managed to close it with a five-game point streak. He registered two goals and six assists in total while firing off 25 shots. Gaudreau's big performance on Sunday brought us the Battle of Alberta for the second round. Calgary's leading scorer had a whopping eight points in four games against Edmonton during the regular season.

Johnny Gaudreau Scores Two Goals In Victory

Calgary Flames forward Johnny Gaudreau finished with two goals in Monday's 5-2 victory against the Blackhawks. The Flames winger gave the team a two-goal advantage in the opening period, and he later added an empty-net goal in the closing stages of the game to bring his season total up to 38 goals and a plus-minus rating of +61 through 76 games. Gaudreau's dominant season of a team-high 107 points will result in him flying off of the draft boards in the early rounds of leagues this upcoming fantasy hockey season, as he enters his age-29 season.

Johnny Gaudreau Continues Hot Streak With Three Points

Calgary Flames winger Johnny Gaudreau needed just 10 seconds to score against the Kings on Monday and finished a 3-2 win with two goals and one assist. This was a superfast goal by Johnny Hockey, but it's still only tied for the third-fastest game-opening goal in franchise history. However, only Anthony Beauvillier has managed to score quicker this season, taking just nine seconds to start the scoring for the New York Islanders against Detroit on Mar. 24. Gaudreau has scored 14 goals across his last 17 appearances to get to 34 markers for the season. Sitting on 95 points through 69 game, he's very close to his first-ever 100-point campaign. Considering his recent play, which even includes a five-point effort, Gaudreau could easily get to the special milestone already in the next couple of games.

Johnny Gaudreau Has Career-High Five Assists Against Edmonton

Calgary Flames winger Johnny Gaudreau was in a very giving mood on Saturday against Edmonton, finishing a 9-5 victory with a career-high five assists. He became the fourth player in franchise history to register five-plus assists in the Battle of Alberta, and only two players have ever managed more points in the classic matchup, with Sergei Makarov holding the record from 1990 with seven points. Gaudreau reached 60 helpers for the season and will enter next week's action with 90 points through 65 games. He's notched 11 points in his last four appearances alone.
