Marc-Edouard Vlasic News
San Jose Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic (lower body) will be sidelined for Tuesday's game against Carolina. He lasted less than four minutes against Colorado at the weekend and missed Monday's practice. Vlasic was able to make it back on the ice Tuesday morning, but he will still need some more time to recover. Henry Thrun will come back into the lineup in his absence against the Hurricanes. The 22-year-old was scratched for the matchup against the Avalanche despite opening the season with an assist last Thursday versus Vegas.
San Jose defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic suffered a lower-body injury in Saturday's 2-1 shootout loss against Colorado. The 36-year-old logged only 3:15 of ice time in the contest, finishing with a plus-one rating. Vlasic needs to recover by Tuesday if he doesn't want to miss any games. Father Time hasn't been kind to Vlasic and he has next to no fantasy appeal, but the 2014 Olympic champion boasts bags of experience, which is highly valuable for one of the youngest rosters in the league. Henry Thrun is set to enter the lineup on Tuesday versus Carolina if Vlasic can't play.
San Jose Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic missed Friday's game against Carolina with an illness and it's unclear if he is feeling well enough to return to the lineup for Saturday's matchup versus Pittsburgh. The veteran blue-liner took a night off for the first time this season on Friday. Vlasic is currently in the midst of an eight-game point drought, but he has notched one goal and 11 assists in 49 outings with 41 shots, 26 hits and 74 blocks. Newly acquired Jacob MacDonald was entered into the lineup on Friday and looks set to stay there if Vlasic isn't able to return against the Penguins.
San Jose Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic (upper body) will make his comeback in Friday's battle with Minnesota after missing five games. San Jose was on a four-game winning streak before Vlasic got hurt and went 1-4-0 without him, so it should be a big boost for the team. The veteran blueliner has just five points for the year, and he's never put up big scoring numbers, but the 33-year-old has got bags of experience and is willing to put his body on the line for the team, which has resulted in 50 blocks in 37 games this season. He's a valuable player in real life but not so much in fantasy hockey.
