Florida Panthers winger Nikita Gusev will make his team debut on the first line in Thursday's clash with Tampa Bay, slotting in alongside Aleksander Barkov and Mason Marchment. Gusev joined the Panthers on April 11 after his contract was terminated by New Jersey. He had a decent debut in the NHL with the Devils last season, posting 44 points in 66 outings, but managed only five points in 20 games this term before the Devils placed him on unconditional waivers. Gusev has always been a very skillful player, so he's got plenty of upside as a Florida player and should be followed closely by fantasy managers. Defenseman Brandon Montour, who was acquired from Buffalo, will also make his debut on Thursday.
Nikita Gusev Out Of The Lineup For New Jersey On Tuesday
New Jersey Devils forward Nikita Gusev is a healthy scratch tonight against the New York Rangers. Gusev has played better of late with four points in his last six games despite struggling most of the season. In 15 Devils contests, The Russian-born winger has just two goals and three assists in five games. It might be time to let go of Gusev in your fantasy leagues, as things aren't going well for Gusev in New Jersey.
Nikita Gusev Makes It Two Goals In Two Games Since Return
New Jersey Devils winger Nikita Gusev ended Linus Ullmark's shutout bid in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to Buffalo, scoring with just 28 seconds left in the game. Pavel Zacha and P.K. Subban were the set up men. The Russian winger now has goals in both of his outings since returning from the COVID-19 list. The 28-year-old had just one point in nine appearances before getting sidelined, but he's a very skillful forward who averaged 0.67 points per game during his debut season in 2019-20, and his fantasy stock will rise quickly if he manages to stay hot. Gusev and the Devils will face Buffalo again on Thursday, before playing a back-to-back set against Washington over the weekend.
