Nikolai Knyzhov Out For Two Months
San Jose Sharks defenseman Nikolai Knyzhov (lower body) is set to undergo surgery next week and is expected to miss two months of action. He will officially be out for eight to ten weeks. The 23-year-old undrafted Russian posted 10 points in 56 appearances during his rookie campaign in 2020-21. Jacob Middleton has started the season on the second defensive pairing alongside Erik Karlsson and could now see plenty of action with Knyzhov out. Mario Ferraro joined Brent Burns on the first pairing in Saturday's 4-3 win over Winnipeg and Marc-Edouard Vlasic skated with Radim Simek.
