Patrice Bergeron Wins Another Selke Trophy

Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron added another Selke Trophy win to his long list of achievements. The Bruins captain bagged the award for a second consecutive year, and he's now one of eight players to win the same NHL award at least six times. As one of the premier defensive forwards in the league, Bergeron has been nominated for the Selke Trophy for an incredible 12 straight years, which is a league record in a single category. However, the streak could very well stop here, as the 37-year-old veteran was close to retiring last summer and is reportedly pondering the same again.

Patrice Bergeron Scores Goal In Return To Lineup

Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron (upper-body) made his return to the lineup and scored a power play goal in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss against the Panthers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference first-round series. Bergeron was sidelined for the start of the series with both an illness and upper-body injury, but the Bruins were able to take three of the first four games in the series without their captain. Bergeron found the back of the net in the second period for the equalizing goal at the time, but the Bruins were unable to close out the series on home ice. Bergeron's return is a great addition for the forward core and the Bruins will have another chance to end the series in Game 6 on Friday night.

Patrice Bergeron A Game-Time Decision Wednesday

Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron (upper body) is regarded as a game-time decision for Wednesday's clash with Florida. The Bruins captain has yet to play in the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs, but he appears to be on track to rejoin the lineup Wednesday, with the team making the final decision on his availability after the warmups. Boston hasn't really missed Bergeron in the series, grabbing a 3-1 lead, but he makes a welcome return, especially with David Krejci (upper body) remaining out for Game 4. Bergeron is slated to skate with David Pastrnak and Tyler Bertuzzi.

Patrice Bergeron Expected Back For Game 5

Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron (upper body) hasn't traveled with the team to Florida and will remain out for the next two games, starting with Friday's Game 3 of the series, but it's considered likely that he will be back for Game 5 when the series returns to Boston next week. The Bruins captain was in and out of the lineup during the final weeks of the regular season and he hasn't yet featured in the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday.

Patrice Bergeron Remains Out For Game 2 Against Florida

Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron (upper body) will remain out of the lineup for Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs first-round series against Florida Wednesday. The Bruins captain has missed five of the team's last 11 games and is trying to overcome an upper-body problem to jump back into the lineup. He was also reportedly dealing with an illness over the weekend but has since then recovered from the bug. Pavel Zacha will continue to center the first line in Bergeron's absence. The line, which also includes Brad Marchand and Jake DeBrusk, combined for three points in Game 1. Bergeron is considered day-to-day.

Patrice Bergeron Could Also Miss Game 2

Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron (upper body/illness) is regarded as questionable for Wednesday's Game 2 against Florida. He's been battling an upper-body injury and also fell sick ahead of Monday's Game 1, missing the contest after being a game-time call. Pavel Zacha replaced Bergeron as the first-line center, and the team continued its impressive season with a 3-1 victory. Zacha had an assist in the game and also helped to shut down the Panthers' first line, with Aleksander Barkov & Co. going scoreless. Bergeron might not have to rush back if Zacha can maintain his performance levels.

Patrice Bergeron Questionable With An Illness

Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron is feeling under the weather and might not play in Game 1 against Florida Monday. The veteran is reportedly one of a number of Bruins players dealing with an illness ahead of the start of the playoffs. Being without Bergeron would be a big blow for the team, but Boston is getting David Krejci (lower body) back for the contest, and having Pavel Zacha fill in for Bergeron as the first-line center isn't a bad plan B. Zacha had a career year with 57 points during the regular season, averaging a point per game over the final eight contests.

Patrice Bergeron Misses Saturday's Practice For Rest Purposes

Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron (upper body) missed Saturday's practice session. He exited the team's final regular-season game against Montreal Thursday for precautionary reasons and it's been reported that he rested for the same reasons on Saturday. The veteran appears to be banged up a bit, but Bergeron famously played through the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals with multiple injuries, including a punctured lung, so it's pretty safe to assume that he will be in the lineup when the playoffs start next week. The Bruins captain turned 37 last summer but still performed well during the 2022-23 regular season, registering 27 goals and 58 points in 78 games.

Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron Out On Sunday

Boston Bruins forwards Brad Marchand (undisclosed) and Patrice Bergeron (illness) won't play Sunday versus Carolina. Both players are dealing with health issues and the Bruins are giving them some time off, with the team having just clinched first place in the Atlantic Division and holding a comfortable lead in the overall standings. David Krejci will center the first line Sunday, while Tyler Bertuzzi is also joining the first line. Defenseman Hampus Lindholm (undisclosed) will be kept out of action Sunday as well.

Patrice Bergeron Hits Game-Winner Against The Rangers

Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron scored in a second consecutive game and finished with the game-winning marker as the team continued its domination with a 4-2 victory over the Rangers Saturday. Bergeron notched the team's third goal after Charlie Coyle and Tomas Nosek had started the scoring. A while back, there were talks about Bergeron starting to sit out games for rest purposes, but he's still featured in all contests this season and continues to play a big part in Boston's success. The Bruins captain has done especially well in recent weeks, going on a run of 10 points in nine games. He has 23 goals and 48 points in 62 games for the season overall.

Patrice Bergeron Ends Dry Spell With A Four-Point Effort

Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron exploded for four points in Monday's 7-3 triumph over Florida, tallying two goals and two assists. Half of his points came with the man advantage. It was a huge improvement from Bergeron's recent form, as he had posted just one point in his previous six appearances. The Bruins continue to demolish most of the teams in front of them and Bergeron has played his part this season with 12 goals and 14 assists. Even at 37, Bergeron is a highly effective player, and having ended a slump with a massive performance, he has set him up nicely for a scoring spurt.

Patrice Bergeron Reaches Career Milestone in Bruins Victory

Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron logged his 1000th point in the 19th year of his NHL career. His assist came in a 5-3 Bruins win over the Lightning Monday. The veteran centerman is averaging almost a point a game with nine goals and nine assists in 19 games. Bergeron and his teammates continue to win games, stretching their winning streak to seven consecutive contests. As he has done for his entire career in Beantown, Bergeron will continue to put up points this season.

Patrice Bergeron Strikes Twice Versus Buffalo

Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron posted his first multi-goal effort of the season on Saturday, pushing the team past Buffalo 3-1. He tied the game with a power-play goal late in the second period and was able to get a late goal in the third as well to lock up the victory. Brad Marchand had assists on both Bergeron goals. The Bruins captain had a cold start to the month, but he's now on a three-game point streak. Boston is playing incredible hockey this season and it's helped everyone on the team to put together strong numbers. Bergeron reached seven goals for the campaign and has 14 points to his name with 15 games played.

Patrice Bergeron Adds Three Points In Bruins Loss

Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron had a goal and two assists despite a 7-5 loss to Ottawa on Tuesday. The Senators handed Boston their first season loss as they have won three of four contests. Bergeron is off to a fantastic start, as he has six points in four Bruins games. The veteran centerman has been an offensive threat throughout his whole career, and there is no reason to expect anything less from the Boston captain.

Patrice Bergeron Out At Least One More Game

Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron (upper body) is expected to be out at least one more game, head coach Bruce Cassidy told the media. Cassidy said the 36-year-old center is dealing with a lingering injury that is at risk of getting injected and that the ailment is not related to Bergeron falling awkwardly in a 2-1 overtime win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday. The captain is third on his team with 45 points (17 goals, 28 assists) through 56 games this season. It doesn't sound like the injury will keep Bergeron out for long, so fantasy managers should keep their eyes peeled for news of his return. In the meantime, expect Tomas Nosek to continue skating in Bergeron's place.

Patrice Bergeron Ruled Out For The Rest Of The Week

Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron has been ruled out for the rest of the week with an arm infection. He will miss Wednesday's battle against Minnesota and Friday's meeting with Winnipeg. There were already some question marks regarding his status for Tuesday's game against Chicago because he had missed Monday's practice for maintenance, but Bergeron ended up playing and even scored his 17th goal of the campaign. He's on 45 points for the season and his absence leaves Boston with a pretty big hole to fill on the top line. Tomas Nosek is expected to center the first line against the Wild.

Patrice Bergeron Adds Two Assists In Victory

Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron finished with two assists in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Blackhawks. The veteran center assisted both of David Pastrnak's goals in the contest, with the second one coming in the final minute of regulation to give the Bruins an important victory as the battle for seeding in the Eastern Conference plays out. Bergeron is still a great center across all fantasy formats as he has recorded 16 goals, 27 assists, 43 points and a plus-13 rating through 54 games.

Patrice Bergeron Could Return on Thursday

Bergeron has missed the previous three games with an upper-body injury, but he is expected to rejoin the team on Wednesday, according to head coach Bruce Cassidy. Bergeron has totaled 35 points (12 goals, 23 assists) to rank third on the team in points through 43 games played. The veteran center is a must-start forward across all fantasy formats and provides additional value in faceoff-win leagues.

Patrice Bergeron Gets Two Assists Saturday Night

Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron helped to set up two goals in Saturday's 4-2 victory over the Flames, moving past Phil Esposito on the franchise's all-time assists list and taking over the fourth spot. The Bruins captain has slowly started to build himself a point streak, getting on the score sheet in three consecutive games. He's on 22 points for the whole campaign with 24 games played. The Bruins top line has been one of the best in hockey for a number of years and that hasn't changed in 2021-22. Bergeron, Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak have combined for 28 goals and 70 points.

Patrice Bergeron Strikes On The Power Play Against Canucks

Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron notched the team's lone goal in Wednesday's 2-1 shootout loss to Vancouver, scoring a 5-on-3 power-play goal early in the third period. Charlie Coyle and David Pastrnak grabbed the assists. Bergeron had a game-high nine shots in total and registered one block in 19:39 of ice time. The Bruins captain now boasts 19 points for the campaign, with most of them (10) coming with the man advantage. Boston is among the league leaders with a 25.4 percent power play, and Brad Marchand also already has double-digit numbers in power-play points.
