Philipp Kurashev Stays Hot on Sunday

San Jose Sharks forward Philipp Kurashev maintained his good scoring form with an assist in Sunday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Detroit Red Wings. Kurashev picked up his helper 49 seconds into the second period when Jeff Skinner scored. Last week, Kurashev was one of the hottest forwards in the National Hockey League, scoring multiple points in three consecutive games. He's on an overall point streak of five games, recording four goals and four assists. Before he heated up, Kurashev had only one point for the season, so his current performance levels are unsustainable. But he's an intriguing fantasy option in his current form, playing on a team that has averaged 3.8 goals over its last five games.

Philipp Kurashev Good To Go Friday

Chicago Blackhawks forward Philipp Kurashev (illness) will rejoin the lineup Friday versus Montreal. He missed the previous game with an illness, giving up his spot in the lineup to Cole Guttman. The roles will be reversed on Friday. Kurashev is the top-scoring Blackhawk not named Connor Bedard this season. He's had six goals and 11 assists across 24 appearances. With him averaging over 0.70 points per game on a struggling team, it's actually been an impressive campaign for Kurashev. He'll be rolling with Tyler Johnson and Taylor Raddysh on the second line against a leaky Canadiens defense.

Philipp Kurashev Ready For Season Debut

Chicago Blackhawks forward Philipp Kurashev (wrist) hopes to make his season debut Tuesday against Boston. He's been unavailable for the first six games due to a left wrist injury suffered in preseason. Kurashev had a career-high 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists) in 70 outings last season, and he should add a little bit of extra offense to a team that has so far averaged only 2.33 goals per game. Chicago's life is about to get tougher as well, with Taylor Hall (should) out and listed week-to-week. His absence could give Kurashev a shot in the top six, but he skated with the third line in Monday's practice.

Philipp Kurashev Sits Out Blackhawks Morning Skate Saturday

Chicago Blackhawks forward Philipp Kurashev missed Saturday's morning skate with a wrist injury. A salary arbitrator in the off-season had awarded Kurashev a two-year, $4.5 million contract. The 23-year-old is expected to play on the Blackhawks second line after registering nine goals and 16 assists in 70 regular season games last year. If healthy, the left-winger could be a key component to his team's offensive production while being a player to keep an eye on in fantasy.

Philipp Kurashev Signs Two-Year Deal With Blackhawks After Arbitration

Chicago Blackhawks forward Philipp Kurashev has been awarded a two-year, $4.5 million contract by a salary arbitrator. With the contract's average annual value coming in at $2.25 million, the 23-year-old is getting a nice bump in salary after playing on a $750,000 deal last season. Kurashev posted a career-high 25 points in 70 games in 2022-23. He has managed a total of 23 goals and 62 points in 191 career games, skating for only the Blackhawks so far. The former fourth-round draft pick has seen some time on Chicago's first line, but he's more of a middle-six forward for the team and Kurashev hasn't been productive enough to gain traction in fantasy hockey.

Philipp Kurashev Shut Down For The Season

Chicago Blackhawks winger Philipp Kurashev (shoulder) will be shut down for the rest of the season, the team announced prior to Tuesday's battle with the Stars. The 23-year-old has already sat out a pair of games with a shoulder injury and will now have a chance to fully focus on getting ready for the 2023-24 campaign. Before getting injured, Kurashev managed to post a new career high with 25 points. He had nine goals and 16 assists across 70 outings. The former fourth-round pick had entered the campaign with only 37 points in 121 career games.

Philipp Kurashev Ruled Out For Saturday

Chicago Blackhawks forward Philipp Kurashev (upper body) won't play Saturday versus Minnesota. He was injured on a hit by Washington's Tom Wilson Thursday. The 23-year-old has posted nine goals and 16 assists in 70 appearances this season. He's been a top-six regular, but Blackhawks head coach Luke Richardson will now have to rethink his plans for Saturday. There's also a spot to fill on the first power-play unit, although fantasy managers haven't gotten a lot of value out of Blackhawks forwards this season due to the team's inability to put the puck into the net. Chicago has the poorest offensive record in the league, scoring only 2.45 goals per game.

Philipp Kurashev Questionable For Monday

Chicago Blackhawks winger Philipp Kurashev missed the morning skate with an illness and might not be able to play Monday against Anaheim. The 23-year-old has been a top-line piece for Chicago lately and his absence would be another blow for the team's offense, with Patrick Kane already missing. Kurashev has recorded eight goals and 23 points across 58 outings this season. He's been able to add just two points to his tally this month, so having some time off might even do good for Kurashev.

Philipp Kurashev Moves To Second Line

Chicago Blackhawks winger Philipp Kurashev is teaming up with Jonathan Toews and Taylor Raddysh on the second line Saturday against Buffalo. Head coach Luke Richardson has been forced to switch up his lines after Tyler Johnson (ankle) was injured earlier in the week. A spot on the Toews line isn't as attractive as it used to be anymore, but it will still boost Kurashev's fantasy appeal. He's fully earned the promotion as well, scoring twice in the past four games. The Swiss winger boasts four points in total for the whole campaign.

Philipp Kurashev Nets Seventh Goal

Chicago Blackhawks forward Philipp Kurashev scored his seventh goal of the season in Monday's 6-3 loss to Florida, joining Patrick Kane and Brandon Hagel on the scoresheet. Minnesota's Kirill Kaprizov (10) is now the only rookie in the league with more goals than Kurashev, who is currently getting a look on the first line as a center between Kane and Alex DeBrincat. The Swiss forward hasn't had much fantasy value so far, but his stock will get at least a short-term boost by playing with wingers who have combined for 71 points. The Hawks will continue their six-game road trip with a pair of matchups against Tampa next.
