On Thursday, Reaves played in place of Michael Misa, who is likely to return to the lineup on Saturday. The No. 2 pick of this year's draft has tallied three points (one goal, two assists) in his first six NHL appearances.

The Toronto Maple Leafs traded winger Ryan Reaves to the San Jose Sharks on Thursday in exchange for defenseman Henry Thrun. Reaves is set to suit up for his seventh NHL franchise next season. The 38-year-old enforcer made 35 appearances with the Maple Leafs in 2024-25, recording two assists and 103 hits. He ranks seventh all-time in the NHL with 3,065 hits. Additionally, Reaves has racked up 1100 penalty minutes in 912 career games. The veteran forward will add toughness and physicality to a young Sharks team but won't have any fantasy value in 2025-26.

Toronto Maple Leafs right wing Ryan Reaves has been suspended for five games for an illegal check to the head of Edmonton Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse. Reaves delivered a big hit with his shoulder to Nurse's head in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win, which forced Nurse to exit the game with an upper-body injury. Reaves was ejected from the game following the incident. The veteran enforcer received his fourth career suspension. He will be eligible to return to the lineup on Dec. 4 versus Nashville. Reaves added 15 penalty minutes to his tally on Saturday and now has 23 penalty minutes for the season through 16 games. He has also recorded 44 hits.

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Ryan Reaves left Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers early with an undisclosed ailment. The enforcer fought Flyers forward Nicolas Deslauriers early in the first period and departed the penalty box with what looked like a swollen right eye and went to the Maple Leafs' locker room. He was also seen connecting with the helmet of Deslauriers numerous times in the bout, potentially injuring his hand. The 37-year-old has recorded three goals and four points along with 124 hits and 39 penalty minutes in 39 games on the season, skating an average of 8:11 in that time. He has been in and out of the lineup as a healthy scratch for much of the season.
