Anthony Stolarz Unavailable for Final Three Games

Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz (lower body) will miss the last three games of the season. He exited Wednesday's loss to Washington with a lower-body injury, and there's not enough time left in the campaign for Stolarz to play again. The 32-year-old couldn't match last season's success, going 10-10-3. He finished the campaign with a 3.28 goals-against average and a career-low .893 save percentage. Joseph Woll will start Saturday night against the Florida Panthers. Artur Akhtyamov, who made his first career start in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Islanders, may also see some action in the final week of the regular season.

Dakota Joshua Unlikely to Return This Season

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Dakota Joshua (upper body) is doubtful to return to action this season, David Alter of The Hockey News reports. He sustained an upper-body injury in Wednesday's loss to Washington and wasn't available for Thursday's clash against the Islanders. It seems his season might have finished prematurely, with Toronto facing three more games. Joshua is set to end the campaign with 18 points (10 goals, eight assists), 52 SOG, and 195 hits in 55 games. Before getting hurt in Wednesday's contest, Joshua was enjoying a late-season offensive surge, picking up one goal and three assists in five games.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson Back in Action Wednesday

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson (middle body) will return from a one-game absence on Wednesday against the Washington Capitals. The Swedish veteran wasn't available for Saturday's contest against L.A. due to a minor middle-body injury. He is expected to take Troy Stecher's spot on the blue line for Wednesday's game. Ekman-Larsson has been one of Toronto's better players during a disappointing season, totaling 38 points (eight goals, 30 assists) in 73 outings. However, he has gone cold offensively late in the season, finishing scoreless in 12 of his last 14 appearances.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson Won't Play Saturday

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson (lower body) is unavailable on Saturday against the Los Angeles Kings, David Alter of The Hockey News reports. The veteran rearguard suffered a lower-body injury in Thursday's loss to San Jose. Toronto has bolstered its blue line by calling up William Villeneuve from the minors, but he will be in the press box on Saturday. Troy Stecher will replace Ekman-Larsson in the lineup. Having gone without a point in 22 of his last 25 appearances, Stecher holds virtually no fantasy value. He has collected 13 points (three goals, 10 assists) in 59 games across the season.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson Injured in Thursday's Loss

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson (lower body) made an early exit against the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night. The Swedish veteran saw only 7:03 of ice time and was ruled out for the rest of the game after the second period. Ekman-Larsson has totaled 38 points (eight goals, 30 assists) in 73 games this season, but he has cooled off noticeably since the Olympics. In his last 15 appearances, Ekman-Larsson has finished scoreless 12 times. Troy Stecher, who was a healthy scratch on Thursday, could get an opportunity to rejoin the lineup this weekend if Ekman-Larsson is forced to miss additional time.

William Nylander  • RW  •  Maple Leafs

William Nylander Records Four Points Against Ducks

Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander contributed one goal and three assists in Monday's 5-4 overtime win against the Anaheim Ducks. Three of his points were recorded in the third period as Toronto came back from a 3-1 deficit. Nylander had two assists on the power play. Although the Maple Leafs have struggled in 2025-26, Nylander has shown world-class form, sitting just outside the league's top 10 with an average of 1.22 points per game. He leads Toronto in scoring despite missing significant time due to injury. Across 58 outings, Nylander has tallied 71 points (26 goals and 45 assists).

John Tavares  • C  •  Maple Leafs

John Tavares Records Three Assists in Tuesday's Win

Toronto Maple Leafs center John Tavares had three assists as the team beat the Boston Bruins 4-2 on the road on Tuesday night. Two of his assists came during power-play situations. Tavares had more than two points in a game for only the second time this season. However, he has been in fine form since the Olympic break, recording five goals and eight assists in 15 games. With Auston Matthews (knee) done for the season, Tavares has taken over the first-line center role, increasing his ice time. The veteran forward will hope to reach 70 points for a second consecutive year. Currently, he sits on 25 goals and 35 assists with 72 games played.

Morgan Rielly  • D  •  Maple Leafs

Morgan Rielly Back in Action Tuesday

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly (lower body) will return from a one-game absence on Tuesday against the Boston Bruins. He will resume his duties on the first defensive pairing and the second power-play unit. Philippe Myers will make room in the lineup for Rielly, who has totaled 33 points (nine goals, 24 assists) in 67 appearances. Rielly's scoring rate has been abysmal recently, as he has finished scoreless in nine of his 10 outings this month. His offensive impact might again be limited on Tuesday against a Bruins team that ranks third in the NHL with 1,887 saves.

Anthony Stolarz Released From Hospital

Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz (throat) has been released from the hospital after taking a puck to the throat area before Saturday's matchup with the Ottawa Senators. Stolarz was set to start in the Battle of Ontario but was hit in the throat by a puck during the pregame warmups. He was taken to the hospital for precautionary imaging. After Saturday's game, Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube said Stolarz had left the hospital and would travel back to Toronto with the team. It appears the veteran netminder didn't suffer a serious injury and could be an option on Tuesday night against the Boston Bruins. Stolarz has posted an 8-9-3 record in 21 starts this season, allowing 3.34 goals with a .894 save percentage.

Morgan Rielly Unavailable Saturday

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly (lower body) won't play on Saturday against the Ottawa Senators and is considered day-to-day. According to Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube, Rielly aggravated a lower-body injury in Friday's overtime loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. The 32-year-old has played in 67 of Toronto's 70 games this season, amassing 33 points (nine goals, 24 assists), 125 shots, and 96 blocks. Jack McCabe is the only Maple Leafs player with more blocks than Rielly this season. With Rielly out, McCabe might also be asked to take on more offensive responsibilities and is an option to join the second power-play unit.

Morgan Rielly Cleared to Play Friday

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly (illness) will play on Friday against the Carolina Hurricanes. He was initially questionable for the game after being away from the team on Thursday due to illness. Rielly has a chance to post his fifth consecutive 40-point campaign in 2025-26. He has tallied 33 points (nine goals, 24 assists) through 66 appearances, firing off 124 shots on goal and blocking 92 shots from opponents. However, Toronto's No. 1 defenseman has been in an offensive slump lately, going scoreless in eight of his last nine games.

Auston Matthews Ruled Out for 12 Weeks

Toronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews (knee) underwent successful MCL surgery and will require 12 weeks of recovery time, the team announced Thursday. Toronto's captain was previously already ruled out for the rest of the 2025-26 regular season. The latest update means that Matthews also won't be available for Team USA for the 2026 IIHF World Championship. For the second consecutive season, Matthews' campaign has been significantly impacted by injury. He played 67 games last season and appeared in 60 games this term, finishing with a career-low 53 points (27 goals, 26 assists). Matthews is expected to be fully healthy in time for training camp in the fall.

Bo Groulx  • C  •  Maple Leafs

Bo Groulx Makes Big Impact Sunday

Toronto Maple Leafs center Bo Groulx bagged two goals, including the game-winning tally, in Sunday's 4-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild. Playing in only his fourth game of the season, the French forward popped up with a pair of goals within a six-minute span early in the second period. Groulx now boasts three goals in four games since making his Maple Leafs debut on March 10. Before getting the call from the big club, Groulx tallied 27 goals and 50 points in 54 AHL appearances. He clearly has some offensive talent, but it's unlikely Groulx will keep up his production level in the NHL for long, especially with his role being limited to the third line.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson Unavailable Against Wild

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson (personal) won't play on Sunday night against the Minnesota Wild. He is away from the team for the birth of his child. The Swedish veteran has had a solid season on a struggling team, recording 35 points (eight goals, 27 assists) in 65 outings. To bolster its defensive depth, Toronto recalled Henry Thrun from the minors on an emergency basis. Ekman-Larsson averages around 21 minutes of ice time, so his absence creates a significant gap at the back. Troy Stecher is expected to take his place in the lineup.

Auston Matthews to Miss Rest of Season

Toronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews (knee) will miss the rest of the 2025-26 season, the team announced Friday. The Maple Leafs captain was injured on Thursday against the Anaheim Ducks and has been diagnosed with a Grade 3 MCL tear and a bruised quadriceps muscle. Toronto will re-evaluate him in two weeks. Matthews finishes his 10th NHL campaign with 53 points (27 goals, 26 assists) in 60 games. It's his first season without averaging at least a point per game since his rookie year in 2016-17. John Tavares will take over the top-line center job for the rest of the season.

Auston Matthews Exits Game With Injury

Toronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews (lower body) was forced to leave the game with a lower-body injury in Thursday's 6-4 victory against the Ducks. The Maple Leafs captain was injured on a knee-on-knee collision in the second period of the contest, with Ducks captain Radko Gudas getting a major penalty for kneeing and a game misconduct, too. Matthews was assisted by a trainer and was only able to put minimal weight on his leg. Before the injury, Matthews scored a power-play goal to bring his season total to 27 goals through 60 games.

John Tavares Expected to Play Wednesday

Toronto Maple Leafs center John Tavares (illness) didn't practice on Tuesday but is set to play in Wednesday's contest against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Although Tavares is battling the flu, Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube expects him to be available on Wednesday night. Tavares has tallied 20 goals and 47 points in 57 outings this season. He is poised to center the second line against Tampa Bay, with newly crowned Olympic champion Auston Matthews also available for the Maple Leafs. According to Berube, Matthews will play despite missing Tuesday's practice.

Morgan Rielly Available After Olympic Break

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly (upper body) will be back in the lineup after the Olympic break. Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube told reporters on Tuesday that Rielly is"good to go" after he missed a couple of games before the break with an upper-body injury. Rielly is set to post his fifth consecutive 40-point campaign in 2025-26. Currently, he sits on 31 points (seven goals, 24 assists) through 54 outings. Rielly also ranks third on his team with 74 blocks. Fantasy managers will hope that a few weeks of rest will help Rielly rediscover his scoring touch, as he's tallied just five points (two goals, three assists) in his past 15 appearances.

William Nylander Iffy for Olympic Opener

Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander (groin) didn't practice on Tuesday and is considered a game-time decision for Sweden's Olympic opener against Italy on Wednesday. Nylander has battled health issues throughout 2026, appearing in only four games for Toronto since the turn of the year. While Team Sweden should easily handle the hosts even without Nylander, it would be a significant blow to the squad if the Maple Leafs star is not at 100 percent at the tournament. Despite playing in only 40 of Toronto's 57 games, Nylander has posted a team-high 52 points (18 goals, 34 assists).

Morgan Rielly Out Through Olympic Break

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly (upper body) will not be available for the final two games before the Olympic break. After sustaining an upper-body injury in Saturday's win over the Vancouver Canucks, Rielly will exit the lineup for Monday's meeting with the Calgary Flames. Rielly has been a busy man for the Maple Leafs, recording 31 points (seven goals, 24 assists), 106 shots, and 74 blocks in 54 appearances. He is second on the team in average ice time with 21:33 per game. Simon Benoit will enter the lineup on Monday, but won't offer anywhere near the same level of fantasy production. Jake McCabe will move into Rielly's spot on the first defensive pairing.
