Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 10

Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 10

The 2024 fantasy football season is flying by as we are already heading into Week 10. Today, I’ll be breaking down some of my favorite Week 10 starts as well as my favorite players to sit. Every single win is crucial with the fantasy football playoffs just around the corner.

For this article, I’ll be using start percentages from Sleeper. Keep in mind that four teams are on their bye weeks. This means we’ll have to navigate the waiver wire and possibly pick someone up to stream. The Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, Las Vegas Raiders, and Seattle Seahawks all have their bye weeks this week.

Continue reading for my top starts and sits for Week 10 of the fantasy football season.

Quick Links

Week 10 Starts

Justin Herbert vs Tennessee Titans (19% started)

Over the past month, Justin Herbert has started to turn things around and is becoming a viable fantasy option once again. After going the first four weeks without throwing for more than 179 passing yards, he’s gone for 237 or more in four straight games. During that time he’s also logged two top-12 quarterback performances and hasn’t thrown a single interception since back in Week 2.

With rookie Ladd McConkey coming into his own and Quentin Johnston breaking out last week for 118 yards and a touchdown, things are looking up for Herbert. Keep in mind, DJ Chark could return in the next week or two as well. At this point, Herbert might even be available on the waiver wire in your leagues. Look for Herbert and the Chargers to take care of the Titans in Los Angeles in Week 10.

Daniel Jones @ Carolina Panthers (5% started)

At this point, it might be smart just to start everyone against the Carolina Panthers. This defense gives up the second-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks behind just the Jaguars. Despite all of the hate Jones tends to get, he does have some decent fantasy numbers this year.

Impressively, he’s finished the week as a QB1 four times this year. Most recently, he just finished as the QB5 last week and ran for his first rushing touchdown of the season. Jones is worth starting this week if you’re hurting with injuries or have Jordan Love or Geno Smith on their bye week.

Tyrone Tracy @ Carolina Panthers (48% started)

Speaking of how bad the Carolina Panthers have been, Tyrone Tracy is someone you need to start this week. In the first four weeks of the season, Tracy had just 12 total carries. Last week alone, he saw 16 carries. Needless to say, the volume he’s receiving as of last is turning him into a must-start running back.

Tracy has 18, 17, 20, and 16 carries in the last five games. He’s also put up two 100+ yard performances and has ran for a touchdown in two of his last four. Taking on the Panthers, they give up the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs. Tracy is slowly separating himself from veteran Devin Singletary and is taking over this backfield.

Xavier Legette vs. New York Giants (15% started)

With the recent trade of Diontae Johnson to the Baltimore Ravens, rookie Xavier Legette is turning into the WR1 in Carolina. Additionally, Adam Thielen is still on IR and has a chance to come back, but it’s still uncertain. As a result, Legette has seen an increase in targets over the last two weeks with 7 and 6.

In total, Legette has four touchdowns on the season and has two of them in back-to-back weeks now. Look for Legette to take the WR1 role and become someone you can rely on as a WR3 or Flex option.

Mike Gesicki @ Baltimore Ravens (11% started)

Last week, Mike Gesicki put up one of his best performances of the season to date. In total, he caught 5 of 6 targets for 100 yards and two touchdowns. It seems the Bengals are embracing their new TE1 and continue to get him the ball more. Especially in the absence of wide receiver Tee Higgins. Gesicki hasn’t put up 100 or more yards since back in 2021 and only has 3 100+ yard performances in his 7-year NFL career.

You can start Gesicki as a safe streaming option this week in a matchup against the Ravens. Rostered in just 20% of Sleeper leagues as of Tuesday morning, there’s a chance you can grab him off the waiver wire for Week 10 and beyond.

Week 10 Sits

Kyler Murray vs. New York Jets (69% started)

Perhaps it’s the new Call of Duty game that just came out, but Kyler Murray is coming off his worst fantasy performance of the season. He finished as the QB30 on the week in a home matchup against the Bears. For the first time all season, he didn’t score a single touchdown. This week, he takes on a stout Jets defense and an Aaron Rodgers-led team that is still in contention to make the playoffs. You might be better off gambling on Jones this week due to the matchup.

Javonte Williams @ Kansas City Chiefs (52% started)

One player who has been a disappointment this year for fantasy football purposes has certainly been Javonte Williams. He has the lead running back role locked down in Denver, but that doesn’t mean much. While he’s receiving the bulk of the workload and has the highest snap share of this backfield, he’s only averaging 10.8 PPR points per game this year. Despite not missing a single game, he’s just the RB29 for the year.

More yet, Williams has only scored twice all season. Both touchdowns came in that Week 7 ugly game with the New Orleans Saints. In a tough road matchup, it’s time to leave Williams on your bench.

Travis Etienne vs. Minnesota Vikings (35% started)

Next up is another massive disappointment at the running back position this year. Travis Etienne of the Jaguars entered the season as one of the “safest” running backs on paper due to his heavy workload in both the rushing and passing games. Unfortunately, Etienne is getting far less work and Tank Bigsby has been out-producing him. Etienne hasn’t scored since Week 2 and in the last three games he’s been active in, he saw 6, 3, and 3 carries.

The fact that Etienne is being started in 35% of Sleeper leagues just doesn’t make sense at this point. In another tough matchup this week with the Vikings, Etienne is entering the discussion of being someone you can drop. The Jaguars have their bye in Week 12 and have five tough matchups in a row coming up. Etienne needs to be on your bench until further notice.

Marvin Harrison Jr. vs. New York Jets (88% started)

Next up is the talented rookie for the Cardinals, Marvin Harrison Jr. Being started in a massive 88% of leagues on Sleeper, it’s going to be tough to sit him. However, with the way Murray and this offense have looked as of late, you might consider benching Harrison in Week 10.

Currently, the Jets are allowing the fewest fantasy points in the NFL to opposing wide receivers. Despite the name value and the upside that he can bring, Harrison has just one double-digit target game this year. Additionally, he has just 13 receptions in the last five games. Notably, one with 2 targets and zero catches back in Week 6. Sit Harrison this week if you have better options.

Jaylen Waddle @ Los Angeles Rams (61% started)

Last up on this week’s players to sit is Jaylen Waddle of the Miami Dolphins. Despite currently being the WR66 in PPR scoring, he’s being started in 61% of Sleeper leagues. While he did find the end zone for the first time all season last week, he caught two passes for -4 yards. Additionally, in two of his last three games, he’s had just 2 targets.

Despite Tua Tagovailoa coming back and hoping to get this offense back on track, Waddle is not someone you can trust at all. In a tough matchup for opposing wide receivers, Waddle needs to be on your bench this week. Ultimately, he is nearing the point of being droppable. If he isn’t there already.
