Last Thursday’s NBA article, featured a number of players that outperformed their DFS Projections. It was a good all-round read that featured good suggestions that we hope you took advantage of. I’m going to grade it as a B+

Studs DFS Player

Damian Lillard | Portland Trail Blazers

FantasyData Projection: 51 | DraftKings Cost: $11100

In his last three games, he has cost a little extra but should be play an even larger role in the offense with Jerami Grant out of the lineup. For the season, Lillard is averaging 4 made three-pointers per contest on an average of 20 overall field goal attempts per game. So far, he has outperformed his fantasy scoring projection in 61.4% of his games and is averaging 31 points per game.

Kristaps Porzingis | Washington Wizards

FantasyData Projection: 46 | DraftKings Cost: $9900

Porzingis comes into the game with a usage rate of 27.5% and has taken 17.7% of Washington’s field goal attempts for the season. He should benefit from facing off against a Warriors unit ranked 1st in possessions per game. Overall he is averaging 22.6 points per contest and has exceeded his fantasy projection in three of his last five games. Averaging 8.7 boards per game, he is also a good option to rack up rebounding points for your lineup.

Julius Randle | New York Knicks

FantasyData Projection: 46 | DraftKings Cost: $10100

So far this season, Randle has racked up 36 double-doubles and should have no problem scoring against a Nets defense ranked 23rd in opponent field goal percentage. Out of today’s options, he is 8th in minutes played at 35.9 per game and is averaging 24.9 points per contest. Over his last three games, he has increased his usage rate while also scoring in an efficient manner with a PER of 24.7.

DeMar DeRozan | Chicago Bulls

FantasyData Projection: 44 | DraftKings Cost: $8300

This year, Demar DeRozan has an overall field goal percentage of 50.9% and will be matched up against an Orlando defense, ranked 17th in points allowed. In terms of scoring, he is averaging 25.5 points per game but should surpass this number as the Magic are 25th in the league in points allowed to shooting guards. For the year, has surpassed his season average of 41.2 fantasy points per game in 52% of his contests.

Value DFS Player

Jonas Valanciunas | New Orleans Pelicans

FantasyData Projection: 29 | DraftKings Cost: $5800

Averaging 9.8 boards per game, Valanciunus is always a candidate to rack up points on the boards. In addition, he is efficient with his offensive opportunities, with an effective field goal percentage above his average of 60%. He is also taking on a Thunder unit that is 24th in points allowed per game. In today’s game, he could also pick up some extra free-throw opportunities, as the Thunder are 27th in free-throw attempts allowed per game.

Josh Hart | New York Knicks

FantasyData Projection: 27 | DraftKings Cost: $5600

For the season, Hart is averaging 9.6 points per game but has done so efficiently with a field goal percentage of 50.4% of his shots this year. Given that the Nets have struggled to keep teams off the free-throw line, ranking 26th in free-throw attempts allowed per game, Hart could find himself with some extra free-throw opportunities. Compared to his average usage rate of 12.5%, he has increased that number by 37% over his last 3 games. Hart is averaging 8.2 rebounds per contest, 14th best among today’s players.

Walker Kessler | Utah Jazz

FantasyData Projection: 32 | DraftKings Cost: $5600

Facing the Pacers, Walker has a good matchup as the Indian defense is just 21st in field goal percentage allowed. So far, he is averaging 8.2 points per game on an average of 7 shot attempts. Across his last three games, Kessler has averaged 33.5 fantasy points per contest, which is 27% higher than his season average. Look for the Jazz to also push the pace in this matchup, as they come into the game ranked 10th in possessions per game.

Tobias Harris | Philadelphia 76ers

FantasyData Projection: 30 | DraftKings Cost: $5200

Tobias Harris has a season-long salary average of $5700, meaning he is available at a good price in today’s action. Throughout the year, he has been an efficient scorer, with a field goal percentage of 49.3%. This also includes knocking down 37% of his three-point attempts. Look for him to take advantage of facing the NBA’s 23rd-ranked defense at defending small forwards. Given his matchup, look for Harris to surpass his fantasy average of 30.5 DFS points per contest
