Underdog Fantasy Review
For most sports fans, there is no offseason. No matter what time of year it is, there is always something to cheer for and a fantasy game to be played. Underdog Fantasy has amplified things to the next level. Normally, when Football season ends, a sports fan would start watching more NBA or NHL or get excited about baseball starting up, but now thanks to Best Ball and season-long drafts an NFL fan can ride out the offseason doing both.
What is Underdog Fantasy?
Underdog Fantasy is the best and easiest way to play fantasy sports; with an emphasis on Best Ball leagues and Best Ball tournaments, they have become wildly popular in the daily fantasy space. Underdog Fantasy has drafts available in every major sport, including NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL, ranging from three-team serpentine drafts up to 12-team drafts. From confined leagues to mass-filled tournaments, UnderDog Fantasy offers it all for the Best Ball community with various price options to boot. UnderDog Fantasy also expanded into the prop market and unveiled their Pick’em options for NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, MMA, Golf, Boxing, Esports, and more focused on statistical categories and contests.

Underdog Fantasy is one of my favorite ways to play fantasy sports. There are no waivers, trades, or lineup settings; there’s no league management after you draft. Interface – The Underdog Fantasy app leaves little to be desired. The app is lightning fast, slick, and easy to use. The design and layouts are easy to navigate with light and dark mode options, and draft rooms fill rapidly, which allows you to draft a team in minutes.
Access to Paid ADP – Once you download the app and sign up, you have access to custom rankings and paid ADP, and paid ADP is irreplaceable. You can see where players are being drafted from actual, live drafts that cost money to join. How is this different from other sites? Most sites use mock drafts, and there is a significant flaw in using them: there’s no skin in the game. In mock drafts, it’s common for a user to leave midway through, leaving the rest of the picks to be auto-drafted, drafting ridiculous positions at unrealistic times. With every user having skin in the game, drafts are taken seriously, with very few picks differing from the rankings; this makes the drafting experience more enjoyable. Rankings can also be exported on a PC to create custom rankings for those that desire.
Better Chances To Win – With Underdog, you don’t have to worry about a salary cap or being beaten by an expert who mass-entered a tournament with maximum lineup entries, used optimizers, or any other trick in the book to beat the daily player. What is Best Ball? – Best ball is a format where league managers draft their team but there is no in-season team management. That means no waiver wire, no trades, no setting lineups. Instead, your highest-scoring players are optimized to form your starting lineup. Leagues are decided by cumulative season points rather than head-to-head matchups. Roster size and payout structures vary by platform and while there are traditional live drafts available, slow drafts (1- 2- 4- 6- and 8-hour timers) are also popular for best ball leagues.

Underdog Fantasy calls these Battle Royal, and they have daily drafts for each sport. These drafts range in size and cost from 3–12-team draft rooms with entry fees ranging from $3-$100 per team; they have something for everyone. The difference between daily drafts and season-long Best Ball leagues is that the contest expires when the game or slate ends.

Pick’em
Pick’em contests at Underdog Fantasy are head-to-head player prop games focused on statistical categories and contests. Pick’em contests are straightforward. There are two types of games: the traditional Over/Under and Rivals. In its simplest form: You can win up to 20X on your money in one night Pick over or under on your favorite players stats to win Pick between 2 and 5 players Can also pick from Rivals, which pits two players against each other

- For example, Joe Burrow Over/Under 1.5 touchdowns.
- You will pick Over or Under.
- You can pick up to 5 totals
- The more you get right, the higher you can win in a multiplier fashion.
- Rivals
- The Rivals are similar to the Over/Under contest. Only with Rivals, it is player vs player.
- For example, will Dak Prescott throw for more yards than Matthew Stafford?
- You can also find a handicap with some of these. Handicaps are like point spreads.
- Who will throw for more touchdowns? Dak Prescott (+.5) or Joe Burrow?
- You can pick up to 5.
- The more you get right, the higher you can win in a multiplier fashion.

I highly recommend Underdog Fantasy to any sports fan. There are enough games that even the toughest credit can find something fun and entertaining to enhance their gaming experience. Underdog is constantly making improvements to their fantasy and pick’em games and their app (which I love) is fast and rarely has issues. I feel this is an up-and-coming site in the sports industry. My only fear is that they are bought out much like how Fanduel bought DRAFT a few years ago and then did nothing with their best ball game.
