Waiver Wire Pickups Week 11

Waiver Wire Pickups Week 11

It’s hard to believe that we are already at week 11 of the NFL season, but here we are… and to be honest with you, I did not foresee the emergence of Joshua Dobbs. Wow, what an incredible story and something great to root for. Anyways, with it being week 11 comes another week to go to battle and get a win for your fantasy team. Champions are built with how they use the wire.

Whether you are looking to make a historic run at a championship in your league or you are just trying to avoid your leagues last place punishment – The waiver wire is how you build and can find some diamonds in the rough.

With week 10 in the books, let’s take a look at some waiver wire pickups that can help your team win.

Upcoming BYE weeks:

Week 11:

  • Atlanta Falcons
  • Indianapolis Colts
  • New England Patriots
  • New Orleans Saints

Week 12: None

Week 13:

  •  Baltimore Ravens
  • Buffalo Bills
  • Chicago Bears
  • Las Vegas Raiders
  • Minnesota Vikings
  • New York Giants

Quarterbacks

Joshua Dobbs

Minnesota Vikings  (53% owned on Yahoo)

Dobbs will be entering his third week with his new team in the Vikings, and he has just been balling out. In fact, he has scored 24+ points in his last three weeks. In addition to that, the Vikings WR talent should be getting a major boost next week (hopefully) in superstar Justin Jefferson. Their next two matchups are also great matchups in the Broncos and the Bears before their BYE in week 13. Dobbs is a viable start for QB needy teams to help make a playoff push.

Deshaun Watson

Cleveland Browns (66% owned on Yahoo)

Watson was drafted a decent amount back in August, but he has been a frequent add/drop for fantasy football purposes frankly because he has not been healthy. He’s missed a couple of a weeks and has even started a game and then had to exit quickly. Regardless, he played through the entirety of their major win over division rival, the Baltimore Ravens this past week. After scoring 17+ his last two outings, Watson takes on Pittsburgh next week and then the Browns schedule lightens up.

Running backs

Ty Chandler

Minnesota Vikings (9% owned on Yahoo)

Starting RB, Alexander Mattison, went down with an injury last week against the Chargers. With Cam Akers already dealing with an injury, that takes us to Ty Chandler. Mattison is possibly dealing with a concussion, so his absence may not be gone for too long. I wouldn’t blow your FAAB budget on Chandler, but he is certainly worth an add as he could be a starter for a week or two. He had 15 carries for 44 yards and a TD in Mattison’s absence against the Saints in week 10.

Antonio Gibson

Washington Commanders (52% owned in Yahoo leagues)

Gibson has had a really quiet start to the 2023 season, but as of the last couple weeks, he is really coming on. Especially in PPR formats. In the last three weeks, he has averaged 12.7 PPR points per game.  It is clear that he has a role on this offense, and as the season progresses, I think that role continues to grow.

Rico Dowdle

Dallas Cowboys (4% rostered on Yahoo Leagues)

Dowdle saw a lot of action in week 10 as the Cowboys starters rested in the fourth quarter after a blowout victory against the New York Giants. But, either way, Dowdle looked good and is a handcuff for their lead back in Tony Pollard. With Pollard not playing his best football in 2023, Dowdle may be worth an add here down the stretch as things sort themselves out. It’s a risky flier, but makes sense, especially if you start Tony Pollard.

Wide Receivers

Noah Brown

Houston Texans (25% rostered on Yahoo Leagues)

This would be my #1 priority add for the week. WR Noah Brown has been on absolute fire with QB CJ Stroud at the helm. In week 10, Brown had 8 targets, where he secured 7 receptions for 172 yards. It’s clear that he is one of Stroud’s favorite targets and has really emerged since their BYE week. This could be bold to say, but I think Noah Brown has league-winning upside. Grab him if you can as things sort out on the back stretch of the 2023 season.

Brandin Cooks

Dallas Cowboys (38% owned in yahoo leagues)

Veteran WR Brandin Cooks finally had his breakout game with the Cowboys in week 10. He had 9 grabs for 173 yards and a TD on 10 targets. As the Cowboys offense continues to gel, Cooks was a very popular sleeper pick back in August/September. He’s had a quiet start to the season, but with a relatively moderate schedule coming up for him, it’s worth a flier and could be a flex play here while we go through some bye weeks.

Rondale Moore

Arizona Cardinals (9% owned on yahoo leagues)

Kyler Murray is back! And he looked very good and comfortable in his first start in week 10. With increased QB play, this is going to help everyone on this offense. In his first week back with Kyler, Moore had 5 grabs for 43 yards on 8 targets.  This may be a quiet add, I wouldn’t spend too much of your FAAB budget for Moore, but could be serviceable in deeper league formats. He also has a very nice playoff schedule…

Tight Ends

Luke Musgrave

Green Bay Packers (23% rostered on Yahoo leagues)

Musgrave is quietly having a very nice rookie season on a Packers team that is struggling quite badly on offense. He’s coming off weeks of 14.10 and 8.4 PPR point weeks, which isn’t too bad. But, what I like most about him are these next two matchups that he has — against the Chargers and Detroit whom both struggle against coverage against TE’s. May be worth a flier if he can help your team out getting through some bye weeks.
