Fantasy Football Streaming Week 3

Fantasy Football Streaming Week 3

Fantasy Football Streaming Week 3Injuries, injuries, and more injuries sum up Week 2. Since we’re looking at streaming quarterback, tight end, and defense options, the most notable injuries include Jimmy Garoppolo, Drew Lock, and C.J. Uzomah. Gardner Minshew II is making a statement to no longer belong in the streaming quarterback category after lighting up the Titans defense last week.

In Week 3, the streaming quarterbacks include veterans and a rookie. However, the Week 3 streaming tight end options include a few intriguing options as multi-week streamers. With roster percentages, we’re typically looking at quarterbacks, tight ends, and defenses rostered in less than 40% of leagues. However, in Week 3, some of the streaming defense options are rostered in more than 40% of fantasy leagues.

Quarterback Streamers

Gardner Minshew II

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. MIA – 34% Rostered

Gardner Minshew II aired it out on Sunday against the Titans and finished with 339 passing yards on 45 attempts with three passing touchdowns and two interceptions. Josh Allen threw for over 400 yards against this Dolphins defense, and Minshew should put up a top-10 quarterback performance against Miami. Next week is the start of a juicy four-game stretch against the Dolphins, Bengals, Texans, and Lions. Minshew is the top streaming quarterback option in Week 3 and the next four weeks until their Week 7 bye week.

Philip Rivers

Indianapolis Colts vs. NYJ – 26% Rostered

Let’s keep it simple, the Jets defense is awful. Philip Rivers could easily throw for 250 yards and a couple of touchdowns against the Jets. The only hesitation here would be that the Colts play with a lead and run the ball a ton. Prioritize Minshew, but Rivers is a fallback streaming quarterback option in Week 3.

Mitchell Trubisky

Chicago Bears at ATL – 8% Rostered

The Falcons defense gave up 570 total yards and 450 passing yards to Dak Prescott and the Cowboys last week. They also allowed 383 total yards and 299 passing yards in Week 1 against the Seahawks. We’re not comparing Mitchell Trubisky to Prescott and Wilson, but Trubisky can take advantage of a poor defense as a streaming quarterback in Week 3.

Ryan Fitzpatrick

Miami Dolphins at JAC – 4% Rostered

The bearded veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 328 passing yards and two touchdowns against a tough Bills defense. We know the Jaguars defense isn’t great, and Fitzpatrick is a back end streaming quarterback option in Week 3.

Justin Herbert

Los Angeles Chargers vs. CAR – 4% Rostered

Obviously, with Justin Herbert, it’s dependent on the health of Tyrod Taylor. In Herbert’s first start against the Chiefs, he threw for 311 yards with one passing touchdown and one interception. He also added 18 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Similar to the Colts, it wouldn’t surprise me if the Chargers played with a lead, and it limited the passing upside in this game. However, I love the passing upside and rushing ability of Herbert this week.

Tight End Streamers

Logan Thomas

Washington Football Team at CLE – 31% Rostered

Although the final statistics and fantasy points don’t wow us, trust the target share for Logan Thomas. In Week 1 and 2, Thomas earned a 26% and 27% target share. The quality of targets is the issue with Dwayne Haskins at quarterback. However, Thomas faces a Browns defense that gave up a ton of production to Bengals tight ends last week. Drew Sample and C.J. Uzomah combined for 15 targets, 11 receptions, and 87 receiving yards. Granted that the Bengals played from behind for most of the game, but I like his target share as a streaming tight end option in Week 3.

Dalton Schultz

Dallas Cowboys at SEA – 3% Rostered

It saddens me to see the Dalton Schultz production since I expected Blake Jarwin as a breakout tight end candidate. The Cowboys played from behind for much of the game after the Falcons went up 29-10 in the first half. Schultz led the team in targets and receptions and finished with ten targets, eight receptions, 88 receiving yards, and one touchdown. We expect another shootout with the Cowboys and Seahawks, and thus Schultz is another streaming tight end option.

Drew Sample

Cincinnati Bengals at PHI – 1% Rostered

With the unfortunate season-ending torn Achilles injury to C.J. Uzomah, Joe Burrow peppered Drew Sample with targets last Thursday. Sample finished with nine targets for seven receptions and 45 receiving yards. The Eagles present a fruitful matchup against tight ends after Tyler Higbee finished with a hat trick of touchdowns. Higbee caught all five targets for 54 yards and three touchdowns, and in Week 1, Logan Thomas finished with a solid game. Fire up Sample off of the waiver wire and start him as a streaming tight end option in Week 3.

Jordan Akins

Houston Texans at PIT – 2% Rostered

I wanted to add and stream Jordan Akins last week after losing Blake Jarwin, but he ended up as a watch list guy. Last week against a tough Ravens defense, Akins caught all seven of his targets for 55 receiving yards. Although Noah Fant had a decent performance last week with four catches for 57 yards and one touchdown, Evan Engram finished with two catches for nine yards in Week 1. Akins is a deep league streaming tight end pick this week with a tough matchup.

Defense Streamers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at DEN

51% Rostered

With Drew Lock and Courtland Sutton injured, fire up the Buccaneers defense this week. They came into the season as a sleeper defense to watch, and they fared well in a good matchup last week. This defense has a solid front seven with young playmaking defensive backs. They’re one of the top streaming defenses in Week 3.

Highest-graded rookie defenders through Week 2:

1. Chase Young – 81.1
2. Jaylon Johnson – 80.3
3. CJ Henderson – 80.3
4. Jordan Elliott – 78.2
5. Antoine Winfield Jr. – 77.4 pic.twitter.com/m8RsJKLDom

Los Angeles Chargers vs. CAR

32% Rostered

Another underrated defense in the Chargers with Joey Bosa, Melvin Ingram III, and Casey Hayward Jr., and they face a Panthers offense without Christian McCaffrey. The Chargers could replicate the Buccaneers’ production against the Panthers with a handful of sacks and a pick or two. The Chargers and Buccaneers are the top two streaming defenses this week.

Indianapolis Colts vs. NYJ

44% Rostered

The Jets offense is awful and down to options of Frank Gore, Braxton Berrios, Chris Hogan, and Josh Malone. With their top three wide receivers banged up in Jamison Crowder, Breshad Perriman, and Denzel Mims, the Colts seem like a safe streaming defense in Week 3.

Cleveland Browns vs. WAS

17% Rostered

I mentioned this in the Week 2 Streaming Picks with the Cardinals defense – it’s a good idea to stream a defense against Dwayne Haskins until he proves otherwise. In two games so far, Haskins averaged 200.5 passing yards (No. 27) with a 60% True Completion Percentage (No. 33). Thus, stream away with the Browns defense.
