New York Mets outfielder Abraham Almonte (calf) was reassigned to Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday. Almonte made eight appearances this spring, and will likely serve as organizational depth for the Mets in 2023. He made 14 at-bats and slashed .500/.650/.643 with a 1.293 OPS in spring training. He certainly made an impact this spring and may even see some time in the big leagues throughout the season. The 33-year-old spent his 2022 campaign with the Milwaukee Brewers and Boston Red Sox. He played in just 15 big league games with the Red Sox and hit .257 with one home run. If he turns some heads in Triple-A Syracuse, he could get an early promotion. Although, he won't bring any value to fantasy leagues.

He certainly made an impact this spring and may even see some time in the big leagues throughout the season. The 33-year-old spent his 2022 campaign with the Boston Red Sox, which was mainly played in the minor leagues. He played in just 15 big league games and hit .257 with one home run. If he turns some heads in Triple-A Worcester, he could get an early promotion. Although, he won't bring any value to fantasy leagues.
The New York Mets signed outfielder Abraham Almonte, right-handers Tommy Hunter and Jimmy Yacabonis and infielder Jose Peraza to minor-league deals on Friday that include invitations to major-league spring training. Right-hander Sean Reid-Foley was also signed to a minor-league deal. Almonte opened the 2022 season with the Milwaukee Brewers and was eventually traded to the Boston Red Sox. The 33-year-old Dominican only played in 15 major-league games for the Red Sox, going 9-for-35 with a homer, two RBI, seven runs scored and a stolen base. Almonte will be organizational outfield depth for the Mets. He has a career .235/.302/.374 slash line with a .676 OPS, 24 home runs and 118 RBI in 455 games over 10 big-league seasons.
The Boston Red Sox designated outfielder Abraham Almonte for assignment on Wednesday. The 33-year-old appeared in 15 games for Boston this past season, batting .257 with a .297 on-base percentage, a home run, and a stolen base in 37 plate appearances. As of now, Boston's outfield options on the 40-man roster include Jarren Duran, Enrique Hernandez, Tommy Pham, Rob Refsnyder, and Alex Verdugo. The Red Sox also claimed catcher Caleb Hamilton off waivers from the Minnesota Twins.
Abraham Almonte Designated For Assignment By Boston
The Boston Red Sox designated outfielder Abraham Almonte for assignment on Tuesday and claimed catcher Caleb Hamilton off waivers from the Minnesota Twins in a corresponding move. Almonte played in just 15 games for the Red Sox this year, going 9-for-35 (.257) with a homer, two RBI and seven runs scored. He slashed .291/.469/.536 with a 1.006 OPS, seven home runs, 24 RBI, 30 runs scored and five stolen bases in 32 games for Triple-A Worcester. Hamilton, 27, plays infield and outfield and made his big-league debut in 2022 with the Twins. He went 1-for-18 (.056) with a home run, five runs scored, four walks and 14 strikeouts. Hamilton was a 23rd-round pick out of Oregon State back in 2016.
Atlanta Braves outfielder Abraham Almonte hasn't made a huge impact with the bat this season, but got it going on Tuesday. He went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and a single in the 12-5 victory over the New York Mets. Almonte has been starting in the outfield lately against right-handed pitching. However, it wouldn't be shocking to see Atlanta attempt to upgrade before the July 30 deadline. He isn't much of a fantasy option even in NL-only formats.
The Arizona Diamondbacks reassigned outfielder Abraham Almonte, pitchers Stefan Crichton, Rubby De La Rosa, Ricky Nolasco, Braden Shipley, Yasmany Tomas and infielder Kelby Tomlinson to their minor-league camp on Tuesday. Tomas had a run-scoring single in Sunday's Cactus League spring game, and it's likely he'll be back at the first sign of injury to an infielder or an outfielder, as he can be a Swiss Army knife of sorts. Almonte also has a chance to make an impact from a fantasy perspective, but ignore him for now.
Kansas City Royals outfielder Abraham Almonte will be getting the start on Tuesday against the Red Sox. Almonte is filling in for injured star Mike Moustakas, though hell be playing outfield while Cheslor Cuthbert will cover the hot corner. Almonte is hitting .250 so far with two homers in 44 at-bats, so hes playing like a pretty mediocre outfielder, and owners shouldnt expect anything more from the 29-year-old backup.
The Kansas City Royals have recalled outfielder Abraham Almonte after placing Alex Gordon on the disabled list. Almonte will serve as the fourth outfielder while Paulo Orlando steps into the regular rotation, but even if Almonte sees any regular playing time, he's not very attractive to fantasy owners. The 29-year-old is only expected to hit about .250 with very light power and speed, so he shouldn't be on anyone's radar at this point.
The Kansas City Royals have claimed outfielder Abraham Almonteoff waivers after he was waived by the Indians. The 29-year-old was waived after he reportedly showed up to camp out of shape and overweight. Almonte has served as a fifth outfielder for Cleveland the last couple years, and he'll serve the same basic role for KC at this time. For fantasy purposes, he should have no value for now.
